Davide Palluda, Piedmont's Michelin-starred chef, runs two open-air entities inside the Enoteca regionale del Roero: the All'Enoteca restaurant upstairs, and the Osteria dell'Enoteca, inaugurated in 2013, on the first floor. We tried theOsteria, whose prices are much lower than those of the restaurant, and highly recommend it. The regional gastronomic tradition is very well interpreted and beautifully presented, with a considerable choice of wines, all in a very pleasant setting. A great address!

The zucchini flowers served with a parmesan crème brûlée are well worth the detour! The meat is very well cooked. Good wines too. At the back of the restaurant, you can admire the old ovens covered with ^18th-century earthenware tiles. Trendy, uncluttered decor, meticulous presentation and service, and a terrace under the arcades when the weather's mild.

One of the city's historic restaurants, Baracca offers typical Biella dishes in a simple, familiar setting, where yellow dominates. The dishes on offer change according to the day and the season, but certain classics are always on the menu, such as the risotto, which is a must, but also the bagna cauda, or the braised beef(brasato) cooked slowly in Barolo wine. A fine list of Piedmont wines, too. Service is a little slow, but the value for money is well worth the detour.

The setting is also welcoming, managing the feat of being both comfortable and elegant. The place is quite small with a nice fireplace in winter for an intimate meal. Nice choice of wines. It is recommended to reserve, but otherwise to frequent for lunch and dinner!

The restaurant's painted wooden ceiling is prodigiously beautiful and rare! Frankly, you'd spend the whole meal with your head in the air, and come away with a stiff neck... But fortunately, what's on the plate brings us back to order: it's beautifully presented, but without fuss, and above all, it's very good!
