Las Encartaciones is a town in northern Spain known for its network of narrow-gauge local trains operated by FEVE. FEVE, which stands for Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha, is a subsidiary of RENFE, Spain's national railroads. FEVE trains serve the regions of Bilbao, Gijón, León and Santander, as well as west to Ferrol. Popular routes include Bilbao to Santander and Oviedo to Ferrol. FEVE trains offer comfortable second-class seats, but there is no on-board catering service. Children up to the age of 7 benefit from reduced fares, and dogs weighing less than 10 kg are allowed to travel. There is no baggage limit on FEVE trains. People over 60 can benefit from discounts with the Tarjeta Dorada.

Bilbao Bizi is the city of Bilbao's self-service bicycle system. It provides access to a network of 40 bike stands distributed throughout the city, including in front of the La Ribera market, the Arriaga theatre, the City Hall, the Abando station and the San Mamés bus station. The service is only available through a year-round subscription that allows you to make an unlimited number of journeys, but you must fill in a registration form and present it at the information office in Plaza Ernesto Erkoreka.

Built in 2002, the Bilbao tramway is an ecological and very pleasant means of transport. From Atxuri station, it joins La Casilla station along a pleasant route along the river, passing through Ribera, Arriaga, Abando, Pío Baroja, Uribitarte, Guggenheim, Abandoibarra, Euskalduna, Sabino Arana and San Mamés stations. During a stay in Bilbao, it is better to use this option to get around the city, which is much more convenient than the metro!
