Inaugurated in 1955, Hondarribia Airport, located 5 km from Hendaye and 25 km from San Sebastian on the Spanish side, has a special configuration since it was built between land and sea. From Hendaye beach you can watch the planes arriving at the airport, an amazing sight. This urban airport with a terminal houses three airlines, Iberia and its subsidiary Air Nostrum, which serves Madrid-Barajas as well as some European cities in summer, and Vueling, a low-cost company that offers daily flights to Barcelona.
