For walkers and snowshoe enthusiasts, Méribel offers an easy half-hour walk to Lac de la Tueda. Although the lake is frozen in winter, we strongly advise against attempting to walk on it to ensure your safety. You can take a leisurely stroll around the lake, even reaching the chalet for a panoramic view, or extend your effort as far as the Refuge du Saut (2 hours one way).

Cross-country skiing awaits you in the picturesque setting of Chaudeyrol, about ten kilometers from Les Estables (in the direction of Saint-Front from the village of Les Estables). The site offers five snow-covered runs, including a blue-level run that takes you close to Lac Saint-Front. Less crowded than the Mezenc, Chaudeyrac is ideal for those seeking solitude and tranquillity.

The Massif du Massif Association was first founded in 1985 following the Mountain Law, under the name Auvergne Ski de Fond. It is responsible for the coordination and enhancement of the northern areas of the Massif Central. This snowshoe hiking is anything but routine because it happens in the night! With a frontal lamp, you can travel 7 km with 150 m of difference in the Massif massif. Unique atmosphere!

The Raquettes snowshoes is a day dedicated to raquette and good humour. Each year 500 and 700 participants participate in this mass hike in snowshoes from La Bourboule. Two courses are proposed. A hot tub and hot meal are offered to the participants. Don't miss this rendez-vous in Auvergne!

The Col de Joux Plane, well known to cyclists, is transformed into a Nordic domain once the snow has fallen. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Giffre valley and the famous Mont-Blanc. For beginners or the most experienced, the domain offers 7 groomed trails, from green to red. A pedestrian and marked itinerary also allows beautiful walks, feet or snowshoes in the powder. This vast area - one of the largest in Haute-Savoie and the best snow-covered - includes sixty kilometers of Nordic trails and two cross-country ski centers. To feel like a musher, adults and children are welcome to visit Ludovic Gloanec, a qualified musher and founder of Traîneaux de l'Ubac. These mountain, nature and animal enthusiasts manage a pack of magnificent Siberian huskies. At the Praz de Lys - Sommand ski resort or on the Agy plateau, you can learn to drive a dog sled, prepare a team and, in two days, hike, dine around campfires and bivouac. In summer, you can try your hand at cani-VTT and cani-kart (or husky buggy), which replace the sled.

Today, a real sliding sport combining skiing and horse-drawn carriage, ski-joëring was once a means of transport. Valérie proposes the discovery of this little-known sport, which is nevertheless accessible to all: you just need to know how to keep your skis parallel. For the youngest, the pony sledge will delight them. In summer, depending on the weather, riders can enjoy day rides to discover the Cantalien massif.

On the top floor of the Maison de la Montagne, a meeting place for mountaineers and hikers, or on its website, La Chamoniarde distributes information on the quality and practicability of the routes (hiking, climbing and mountaineering, skiing, hang-gliding...) and provides practical information for organizing your race or your itinerary (huts, ski lifts, regulations) as well as the necessary documentation (books, topographic maps...) Events on mountain practices are also regularly organized.

The Colorado course offers a 1,500-meter descent with exhilarating turns, while the Eldorado takes you on a 3,000-meter run to Belle-Côte. Take your position and throw yourself into the adventure, negotiating the turns, accelerating and staying on course. You'll experience a different gliding sensation, while enjoying the panoramic view of the majestic Mont Blanc. Departures are either from the foot of the Colorado chairlift or from Belle-Côte, preceded by practical tips for an optimal experience.

The Rochers de la Miramande offer a sublime setting for Via Ferrata enthusiasts, with exceptional views over the Allier gorges. Between walking and climbing, three routes are available, two relatively accessible (the green and red) and one more difficult (the black). These routes, with their south-facing exposure, involve more climbing on rock than on rungs. Each route takes just under two hours. To reach the site, follow the signs after passing through Saint-Jean-Lachalm.

This climbing site is undoubtedly one of the most popular in the Haute-Loire, not least because of the diversity of its walls and its easy accessibility. After a 10-minute walk, you'll reach the site, which offers no fewer than 49 routes. A dedicated beginners' area is also available. The other routes are suitable for all climbing enthusiasts, the longest stretching for around 30 meters. From the summits, you can enjoy views of Mont Mézenc.

Downhill skiing at Praz-de-Lys-Sommand (now known as Espace des Lys) means family vacations in an exceptional natural setting. The ski area offers 55 km of pistes spread over 27 blue runs, 7 green runs, 12 red runs and 6 black runs for the more athletic skiers. For the acrobats who don't shy away, 1 snowpark and 3 boarder-crosses provide thrills and spills, and even a few laughs and spills... Les Gets is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest in the world. It includes 12 resorts linked between France and Switzerland, which offers you 600 km of skiing! From the resort-village of Les Gets, you can ski to Les Gets-Morzine and the Portes du Soleil. The domain offers many slopes, from the most technical to the most adapted for beginners. The area is wooded and the landscapes are breathtaking.

The journey rises along this volcanic fireplace, offering beautiful views over the surrounding landforms. Information panels help to understand the formation of these rocky peaks. The steep climb is rewarded by the view since the summit. Orientation tables will tell you the other summits to see. A nature activity in the company of sled dogs and their qualified musher Philippe Van Compernolle. At Les Carroz and Flaine - but also in Chamonix - you'll learn how to drive a sled on snow-covered trails. Each participant drives a sled harnessed to a pack of three or four Siberian Husky dogs. Another great climbing spot in the Ardèche, on the shores of Lake Issarlès. Three beautiful, shaded granite cliffs offer climbers almost thirty routes, from 6 to 35 meters high. The picturesque name of this climbing spot comes from a local legend, telling the story of a shepherdess milking her goat on a rock when her village was submerged by the waters. Saint-Cirgues offers an ideal environment for snow activities in the heart of winter. The Suc du Pal site has been developed in this beautiful setting for the enjoyment of young and old alike. On the program: a cross-country ski loop, not very long but very pleasant, and seven trails from 2 to 12 km long for snowshoe enthusiasts. Equipment rental available on site. This small resort is home to a few buildings, including an inn, a bar, an equipment rental company, etc. The Col de Rousset is appreciated by families, especially for its very affordable rates. It offers a vast and wild alpine ski area, with 29 trails and a Nordic area with 12 km of marked trails and 15 km of paths reserved for snowshoeing. Experienced sportsmen can even leave from the Rousset pass to cross the Vercors High Plateaux by ski touring. It is one of the three gates of the Nordic domain of the Haut Vercors. 8 km from the villages of Saint-Martin and Saint-Julien-en-Vercors, the Nordic site of the Herbouilly plateau is linked to the Hauts Plateaux on the Isère side (Corrençon-en-Vercors) and Bois-Barbu (Villard-de-Lans) by 130 km of ski runs. Thus, Herbouilly is part of an exceptional Nordic site which reveals striking landscapes with a Scandinavian atmosphere. Loops of 3 to 30 km are suitable for snowshoeing. A site that is appreciated all year round; In winter: the Nordic resort of the Col de Carri has a difference in altitude that makes the 60 km of cross-country ski trails sometimes difficult, but always very pleasant. From Arith to Montagny, once at the chapel, turn left onto the tarmac road leading to a large parking lot. Follow the signs, cross the road for about 20 minutes, then turn right after a bend, passing through the forest. At the crossroads, turn right. A sign indicates the lake.

Morzinois have two skating rinks in winter: one, covered, in the Parc des Dérêches sports complex where the swimming pool is located; the other, in the open air, in the center of the village. The latter allows families to have a great time after skiing. Its size of 30 meters by 15 is enough to accommodate the influx of holidaymakers. For space lovers who like to skate at high speed to wild rhythms, the covered skating rink will suit them. Its 56 m by 26 m surface is used for training by the Pingouins, Morzine's field hockey team.

In Lapland, they offer driving trips in the heart of the great virgin spaces and under the northern lights. In Praz-sur-Arly, their base camp, they organize summer cani-rando in the mountain trails and in the forest, and a visit of their Husky dog kennel.
