Since the 1968 Olympic Games, Autrans has been the benchmark Alpine resort for Nordic skiing. Autrans-Méaudre is a true paradise for cross-country skiers, with its superbly laid-out courses for skating and alternating. A natural territory, in the heart of magnificent forests, with 180 km of linked trails and guaranteed snow thanks to the installation of 18 snow guns, as well as a Ludipark where you can learn the pleasures of Nordic skiing. On the Alpine side, there are 2 distinct areas with 35 runs: Domaine de la Sure in Autrans and Domaine du Châtelard in Méaudre.

With a vertical drop of almost one kilometer, some twenty runs and an accessible ski pass, the Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse resort offers a wide variety of winter sports. It's the "big" downhill ski resort in the Chartreuse massif. Last year, to reduce energy consumption, access to the slopes was via Le Planolet and Combe de l'Ours. For Nordic skiing: 50 km to Saint-Hugues, plus the 25 km round trip Saint-Hugues - Le Sappey - as part of the Chartreuse traverse. In summer, the resort has prepared trails for mountain biking.

It is a real Nordic domain that is proposed to us in Sappey. Aussois is a charming ski resort situated between 1500 and 2750m altitude, in the heart of Savoie. It offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, ideal for families. The Aussois French Ski School offers lessons for all levels and ages. With over 55 km of pistes and 11 lifts, there's something for every level of skier. The school has 57 qualified instructors to help you progress and share some great skiing moments. Lessons are available for toddlers from 2.5 years, children, teenagers and adults. Located at Col de Serre, MAISON DE LA MONTAGNE is a ski area with 50 km of pistes, divided into 2 green, 2 blue and 2 red runs. A junction connects the two entrance gates for even more fun. The area also offers snowshoeing, mushing and sledging. For rock-climbing enthusiasts, there are 30-100 m ice-falls available for unsupervised practice. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, a snowshoe hiker or a rock-climbing enthusiast, MAISON DE LA MONTAGNE has something for everyone.

The ESF offers you ski lessons according to your level from beginner to advanced. Group lessons, individual or training course, the choice is yours. The proposed disciplines are: alpine skiing for adults, children, snowboarding and nordic. Also handiskiing. Competition. Possibility to pass stars during group lessons every Friday. The Falgoux Nordic ski area is located in a glacial cirque at the foot of the Puy Mary at an altitude of 1,200 meters. 32 kilometers of trails for all levels are regularly maintained. You can rent cross-country skis and snowshoes on site. A room to eat by the fire is at your disposal. Two trails for snowshoeing are marked out in the pine forest. Just on the edge of the village, but nevertheless independent, the cross-country skiing centre is easily accessible. Renovated in 1993, it has a reception structure that meets the standards of Youth and Sport or National Education approvals. Cross-country skis and snowshoes can be rented on site. From there, you can discover a whole network of cross-country skiing routes that extends over 35 km and connects the northern area of Haut-Pilat by the GR7. In winter on snowshoes, in summer on foot or by mountain bike, the team of mountain guides of Le Mont-Dore takes the curious eager to discover the landscapes of the Sancy and its most unusual places. The biathlon track is a new feature at La Stèle in 2024: a 1 km track, a penalty ring, a shooting range for 10 m and 50 m shots are all part of the facilities. This activity is open to all. All you need to do in winter is master the basics of cross-country skiing. Individuals are accompanied by a certified instructor. Whichever activity you choose, you'll cross the forests and plains of the Sancy. The scenery is varied, and magnificent views of the Sancy, the Monts du Cantal and the Artense plateau await you. The advantage: the landscape is totally different in summer and in winter, a double reason to come!

Detailed guides are available from the tourist office. Under the guidance of qualified instructor Jean-Yves Fredriksen, all climbers are supervised and initiated. Initiation from age 8.

Located by the river, in the heart of the picturesque Gorge landscape, the Nordic Park invites you to explore 25 km of carefully groomed trails, perfect for Nordic skiing. The area includes a free beginner's zone, two specially dedicated green runs, and three trails of varying levels to suit all levels of skier. For those who prefer to diversify their winter activities, snowshoeing, biathlon and even snow golf are available to enrich your experience in this superb environment.

The Cordon ski area includes 5 ski lifts and 10 runs over 11 km. The on-site French ski school will guide you through the beginner and advanced areas. 8 marked snowshoe trails are available free of charge. There's also sledging and dog sledding. Of course, these trails are also accessible in summer. The ski area is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which is always linked by ski-bus shuttle.

The International Ski School, accredited by the French Ministry of Sports, has 95 schools in France, Switzerland and Italy, offering ski, snowboard, skwal and Telemark lessons. Lessons, given by ENSA-trained instructors, are available from Sunday to Friday, mornings for skiing and afternoons for snowboarding, starting at the top of Le Signal. Private lessons, on or off piste, and private days with an instructor are also available.

Professionals who know the Portes du Soleil area inside out and can help you discover its magnificent panorama, on foot, on skis or on mountain bikes. Ulrika and Jean-Luc Tamanini, two guides specialized in medium and high mountains, offer descents of torrents by climbing, ski touring... These experienced guides also organize guided hikes, mountaineering, freeride (skiing, mountain biking), canyoning, hydro-speed, via ferrata and many other mountain sports activities. Try it at least once, depending on your level!

Espace Moto Neige is simply the largest snowmobile park in the Alps and a team of professionals who will take you on a day and evening discovery of the most beautiful landscapes of Alpe d'Huez with a ride to the summits at 2,500 m altitude. For your comfort, the bikes are equipped with heated seats and handles and foot warmers for the driver and passenger. Equipped with a full-face helmet, you can ride alone or with a partner to the great outdoors. A trip to share with friends, magical and unforgettable moments.

In summer and winter alike, the Pertuyzat - Pavin ski area is constantly evolving. It now includes a play park, a Nordic site, a nature area and a regional restaurant. The playground features a secure net course where you can climb, slide and jump your way through a variety of challenges. This activity is a must for all the family to share a unique moment. A brand-new pumptrack is accessible by mountain bike. It features a succession of bumps and turns for maximum technique and adventure. Hiking is also on offer.

In winter, the 76 km Nordic ski area is marked out, some by cross-country skiers and others by snowshoers. The scenery is magnificent, and some itineraries offer a view of Lac Pavin. Free-access trails are reserved for sledges.

Don't have the right equipment? Don't worry, Fond/VTT Evasion rents out cross-country skis, skating skis and snowshoes in winter, and DH, cross-country and electric mountain bikes in summer.

Throughout the day, the La Table du Grand Duc restaurant welcomes sports enthusiasts young and old. On the menu are platters of local charcuterie and cheeses, soups, salads, burgers, truffade, dishes of the day... and in the afternoon, sweet treats include crêpes, waffles and more. Situated at an altitude of around 1,000 meters, just 3 km from the village, the small family resort of Plateau de la Verrerie offers a wide range of winter activities. You can rent skis, snowshoes and sledges on site. The resort has four ski runs, ranging from 1.8 km to 7.5 km, with different levels of difficulty. Two snowshoe trails of over 4 km are also available, offering walks through the heart of the forest.

Summer and winter alike, whether on the trails or slopes of the Super Morzine and Lindarets ski areas, the Rustine mountain biking school offers courses and supervises rides with state-certified guides. You can sign up for an original mountain bike tour on snow, offering three different routes. Every Sunday evening, a free introduction to mountain biking on snow is offered on the Crot piste. Since 2001, Fred and Ghislaine, a couple of passionate mountain guides, have been offering private ski lessons, as well as lessons in climbing, mountaineering, water trekking and even snowshoeing. Their professionalism, combined with their human qualities and mountain ethic, make them ideal guides. Whether you're looking for a waterfall descent in the Balme canyon, a via ferrata in Passy, a ski tour in the Aravis mountains, or of course the inevitable Vallée Blanche descent on skis or mountaineering.

Husky Safari proposes an original activity: the conduct of dog sleds. Like a trapper, go to discover the snowy trails where wild nature reveals its most primary beauty. In the forest, in the middle of the fir, it will be you who will lead the reins and lead the entraînés trained by icy temperatures. Departure takes place from the nearby hamlet of Plantin, but shuttles are available from La Tania.

An extraordinary adventure! Lake Montriond is the^3rd largest lake in Haute-Savoie, after Lake Geneva and Lake Annecy. At an altitude of 1,064 meters, it is 1,320 meters long and 235 meters wide at its widest point and 19 meters deep! Once the ice has formed, you can learn about this activity, surrounded by the best professionals. You can then observe the spectacle of bubbles and water at 2°C. Prices include security on the site, provided by an instructor with a state certificate, supervision, equipment (dry suit, anti-ice regulator...), and insurance.

A high mountain guide, Grégory Coubat offers you ski, hiking, off-piste outings and mountaineering activities throughout Maurienne and beyond. At Norma, it invites you to start climbing ice climbing. With caps, reel, rope and crampons, you follow two by two the guide, which prepared you the ground. Formulas for experienced climbers are also possible.

Chalmazel is the perfect place to enjoy a wide range of fun activities with family and friends. First of all, we're seduced by the beautiful panorama at the top of the slopes: a breathtaking view of Mont-Blanc. In winter, we enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as tobogganing and snowscooting. As part of the Portes du Soleil area, Châtel's connection to the Swiss ski area is fairly easy. The Châtel ski area itself offers 41 lifts opening onto 45 pistes located between 1200 and 2200m. Two snowparks will delight freestyle enthusiasts. The free shuttles, for all and even in the evening, allow easy access to the slopes. 60 km of Nordic slopes linked with the resorts of La Chapelle and Abondance, sledging, ski joëring and pedestrian-snowshoe circuits including two educational trails.
