The idea of mountain biking in the city was born in 1995 with Bike in Lyon. 29 years later, the Lyon Free Bike is a not-to-be-missed event, with over 8,000 mountain bikers criss-crossing the streets of Lyon on a course that changes with each edition, with loops for all levels. It's a family-friendly event where everyone can find a course to suit their level: from the XL to the Discovery course, not forgetting the Rouler pour elles solidarity ride, open to men, to fight women's cancers.

To refresh yourself and discover the city in a different way, cross Lyon by kayak on the waves. Descent of the colourful Saône river from Rochetaillée-sur-Saône (shuttle) with more than 2 000 participants coming with their own boats - possibility to rent a two-seater canoe on site : kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle very fashionable, but also original canoes and a para-canoe challenge for people with disabilities . Arrival in the Confluence Dock. All weekend long, many activities and challenges to win prizes. Fun.

See the city as you've never seen it before! The urban trail was invented in Lyon, a style of running that has spread to other cities, which have become, for a weekend, special running grounds. With its marked relief (we are talking about a difference in altitude of 1,400 m and 6,000 steps for the 37 km, the main event reserved for a maximum of 1,000 runners), Lyon is the ideal city to welcome the best trailers and beginners (from the 8 km to the 37 km, without forgetting the 12 km rando). Always the same advice: register early (as early as December for a spring edition), because the participants are jostling each other at the starting gate.

Held every year in January, it brings together 450 participants for a unique discovery of the Entremonts in the Chartreuse region. Musical ambience, local gastronomy and mountain panoramas punctuate this hike, which is accessible to all. It's the perfect opportunity to strap on your snowshoes and enjoy an unforgettable adventure discovering the region's heritage, gastronomy and landscapes. It's an ideal activity for nature lovers, families, groups of friends and sports enthusiasts.

In Clermont-Ferrand, science also has its own short film festival. For one week, during the Fête de la Sciences, short scientific films (documentaries, fiction, animation) are screened. Some twenty works are screened at the Espace Georges Conchon, around themes chosen each year. More recently, screenings have been held throughout the Auvergne region on request. The festival is organized by INRAE, the Henri-Lecoq Museum, the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the Astu'sciences association and the Conseil départemental du Puy-de-Dôme.

About ten Vintage Fairs take place in France each year, including one in Clermont-Ferrand. The idea was born in 2007 at the initiative of Laurent Journo, author of the book Vintage passion. The show brings together vintage professionals, that is to say more than 100 exhibitors, among the best experts in fashion, furniture, accessories, electronic objects, but also iconic games because of their design or their sometimes forgotten use, vinyl records, cars... Nostalgic or fashion fans, Sunday bargain hunters or professionals, collectors or families, all come here to discover elements of everyday life from the 1950's to the 1990's, and to unearth, in this immense Ali Baba's cave, THE item.

The Gerzat festival committee and the town hall have been organising a fair in October for nearly 30 years, which transforms the town of Gerzat into the capital of the pansette! Professional exhibitors under tents, local traders and craftsmen, restaurants to discover the specialty based on sheep's belly, cooked in white wine and similar to the andouille. The festivities are completed by a garage sale, a forum of associations, a funfair, shows and concerts. Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend.

For over twenty years, the Hispanic Film Week has been supported by the association of the same name. It offers many films, recent or great classics, from all Spanish-speaking countries. The selection is designed to attract the interest of both film buffs and amateurs. The screenings are always in the original version with French subtitles. During the rest of the year, other screenings are organized, some of which are specially dedicated to school audiences.

It is within the superb park classified as a Sensitive Natural Area - it extends its preserved areas of 24 hectares, shaded by chestnut trees more than a hundred years old, to the lakeside - from the Rovorée estate that La Châtaignière was built. A mansion, designed in 1926 by the Geneva architect Maurice Turrettini, which since 2007 has hosted temporary exhibitions under the aegis of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council. Perched in the pretty hamlet of Bionnassay - accessible by car - in the heart of a natural agora with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, the "Théâtre dans les alpages" festival is an open-air theater. 4 evenings, 4 open-air performances, watching the day slowly decline as you watch experienced actors perform. The project, set up by an association created for the occasion, reconnects us with the magic of open-air theater, that of the origins.

Lyon's Hangar du Premier-Film is a must-see for film buffs. Located within the Institut Lumière, it offers visitors the chance to (re)discover films from all eras and geographical origins. Indeed, this historic location is the site of the first Lumière film, shot in 1895. The hangar, once a photographic plate factory, was saved from destruction by film enthusiasts. Today, it houses a 269-seat cinema where films are shown. Visitors can also enjoy the library, bookshop, café and galleries on site. A must-see for all cinephiles!
