TOLEDO T-DESCUBRE is the tourist office for the city of Toledo. Located some 70 kilometers south of Madrid, Toledo is a city rich in history and culture. With over 2,500 years of history, you can see this history reflected in its streets, monuments and museums. The city is famous for its cathedral, a magnificent example of Spanish Gothic architecture. There are also many other sites to visit, such as the Alcazar de Toledo, a fortified palace with a breathtaking view over the city, and the El Greco museum, which houses a collection of works by the famous painter. Toledo is also known for its steel production and swords, and it's possible to visit workshops where you can watch craftsmen at work.

The province of Cuenca, located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain, is home to the city of Cuenca. This medieval city is considered one of the most beautiful in Spain and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Cuenca is strategically located for communication between northern and southern Spain, being bordered by the provinces of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Valencia and Teruel. The city is divided into two distinct zones: the old town, perched on a rocky hill bordered by the gorges of the Júcar river to the north and the Huécar to the south, and the new town to the west and south of the old town. Cuenca offers a picturesque landscape with its hanging houses, castles and cathedral. Visitors can also explore the Ciudad Encantada, a unique natural site with strange rock formations. The city also boasts a university, the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and a variety of nearby tourist destinations, such as Alarcón, Belmonte and Mota del Cuervo.

The museum of the famous Semana Santa, declared of international tourist interest by UNESCO, is very interesting and allows you to immerse yourself in the history of these extraordinary celebrations. Many pieces (about 150), including a superb ivory Christ, and audiovisual documents provide information about the impressive processions that take place in Cuenca during a week (the one before Easter) that is very special for the whole country.

Immerse yourself in the history of Toledo through four unique exhibitions. The first features 28 wooden models of catapults and siege engines. The second highlights the ancient instruments of torture used during the Inquisition, offering a vivid glimpse into this dark period. For enthusiasts of the Templar Order, another exhibition offers a closer look at this legendary order. Finally, the exhibition on witchcraft is fascinating, with its mummies, relics and recipes for magic potions.

Located in two of the three restored hanging houses, you enter through a Renaissance porch, recovered from the former palace of Villarejo de la Peñuela. The museum has hundreds of paintings and sculptures. It is one of the best collections of abstract art in Spain (1950 to 1960), with works by Antoni Tàpies, Antonia Saura, Eduardo Chillida, Pablo Serrano, Gustavo Torner, Fernando Zóbel, etc. An interesting visit in an exceptional setting.
