Rando-Rail du Pays de Lumbres

Leisure and individual sports
4.3/5
3 reviews

10 km of rail to be covered, but with the force of the legs, along a disused railway line. On this wooded course, you can meet the local fauna (vipers, roe deer...) or hit a peak at 25 km/h. The trotti-trail (electric scooter) will also take you on great adventures. Children and families will love the treasure hunts on foot, which allow you to discover the village and its surroundings along a 5 to 6 kilometre walk full of riddles.

The Eurovéloroute3 (or Scandibérique) is the successor to the Green Axis. Inaugurated in June 2014, the circuit is a delight for cyclists and riders alike. The Eurovéloroute3 is a tremendous accelerator for the development of tourism in Thiérache and is part of a desire to open up to Europe. This road crosses the department of Aisne, between Hirson and Quierzy, over a length of 109 kilometres. On a wider scale, the route extends from Trondheim (Norway) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain), over more than 3,000 kilometres. SENTIER DU PLATIER D'OYE

Hiking

2 reviews

Located at Oye-Plage, the Platier d'Oye Nature Reserve is the first French stopover for migratory birds. On this large flat area where dunes, sandy banks and stretches of water mingle, twenty species of mammals, such as the Highland Scottish cow, 230 species of birds and several species of amphibians, including the calamite toad and the green frog, live side by side. The flora is also richly represented, with 361 species, six of which are nationally protected. The hiker will recognize the oyat, a small plant used to fix the dune, the obione, the sea buckthorn or the Curtis violet. A unique place to observe the fauna and flora of the coast and a very nice walk to do with the family. Tip: when the weather is nice, bring a hat and sun cream as there are very few shady areas. And above all, take your binoculars to observe the fauna and flora more closely.

Want to live a unique experience and get your adrenaline flowing? Treat yourself to a first ride on the inclined track of the Stab, the covered regional velodrome of Roubaix. Inclined at 44.3°, this track promises you real thrills! No need to come equipped, all the equipment is provided on site (bike, shoes, helmets and gloves). The velodrome also organizes discovery sessions of cycling on track open to all, even to the little ones. A really nice activity to do with family or friends. Moreover, the velodrome opens its track to more experienced cyclists, licensed or not, who want to exercise in a unique place. But the Stab is not only a cycling track, it also has badminton courts, weight rooms and even a BMX track managed by the Vélo Club de Roubaix. A temple of leisure sports, the Stab also hosts many prestigious competitions. It thus hosted the track cycling championships in September 2017. Finally, you should know that the place offers rooms and spaces for rent for your conferences and seminars. Quite an original meeting place, isn't it? Something to motivate participants! In short, the covered velodrome of Roubaix is a welcoming place, offering activities for all and especially unique sensations and emotions!

Le belvédère du plateau de Californie depuis Craonne

A short loop, very low differences and beautiful views: This is what attracts the most reluctant to walk on foot! The promenade we are offering you is evolving on the Chemin des Dames, the flagship site of the First World War. We are very appreciative of the few interpretive signs that go on the course: if history lessons are a little (too) distant, they remind us of the major points. As you will understand, this discovery tour combines the useful to the pleasant, and is strongly recommended for families with children or adolescents.

Tariff: free.

Distance: 2,5 km.
