1 review

In the cellar of Jean-Marie Dutour, there are little known names, but also exceptional champagnes such as this great Moutard-Diligent reserve, without adding dosage liqueur. For the holidays, daring a mercurey, a very perfumed burgundy, ideal to accompany the meat. For the curious, the Cellars of Old Massy also offer wines from all over the world as well as a large range of whiskies. A trip through the finest labels that will delight your meals or aperitifs.

LES DOMAINES QUI MONTENT

1 review
Open - Close to 20h00

Les Domaines Qui Montent was founded by Emmanuel de Bodard, a winemaker at Rully in Burgundy, who realised that selling wine was a daunting task due to its diversity in the world. He had the idea of grouping winemakers from all regions of France under a unique brand. The parent company is at 28 rue Médéric in the 17th arrondissement. The brand now represents over 150 carefully selected winegrowers, constituting 700 referenced wines, champagnes and spirits. The purpose of these wine growers is to make their products known and sold. They have bag in boxes of 3.5 and 10 litres to be taken away and that is good both for Cevennes wine as well as for the Crozes-Hermitage. The cellars also act as a table d'hôtes for tasting at lunch time. Here, the master of the house is Cyrille Pesquet, a connoisseur of the house wines.

Smaller in size than the large Sunday market on Boulevard Raspail, the Batignolles organic market brings together some of the finest organic farmers in the Paris region. You can fill your shopping bag with bread, pastries, cheeses and other dairy products, fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish... Stop off at Philippe Grégoire, cheese maker, Michel Renard, market gardener, and Laure and Mathieu Thiriet, butchers. A few steps away, some nice cafés open their arms to you for a break on the terrace. A real moment of relaxation to start the weekend well. Although it is very busy, this market is not overrun by crowds.

At this coffee roaster, you can enjoy a wide variety of coffees on the terrace or in the dining room. If you're feeling a bit peckish, you can indulge in delicacies such as honey madeleines. When it comes to black gold, the choice is vast and qualitative: New Guinea, 100% Arabica and many other origins, treasures that you can take home with you or enjoy on the spot... Don't hesitate to ask the team for advice, as they know the aromas, qualities and flavours like the back of their hands. A good address to come back to, for yourself or as a gift.

After a few trips to China and a few Mandarin courses, Valérie and Nicolas have created a place full of Asian culture that they love. More than a hundred loose tea, selected with great care, ranging from the simplest to rarest like these tea flowers that spread with water. During his travels, Valérie found small local producers growing and shaping their tea in the tradition. In the pink-plum shop, everything revolves around this beautiful beverage: books, tableware, specially made boxes and some grocery products. The local inhabitants love this sign, and it is quite normal.

1 review

In addition to its tea room in the Luxembourg Museum, Angelina is also present on the left bank in the lively rue du Bac, one of the gourmet arteries of the 7th arrondissement. The shop is all in white, Belle Epoque style revisited. Beware, unlike the other establishments of this unavoidable institution of the Parisian sweet landscape, it is not a tea room where you can taste its specialties, always so sublime. The macaroons and the famous Mont-Blanc take pride of place, alongside other classics such as the millefeuille and the fig tart (in September-October). Fans of the famous hot chocolate will opt for the Choc Africain... with dark chocolate.

We knew the restaurant Les Tartes Kluger, today there is the counter, installed in an ancient horse horse right next to Rose Bakery. This is the new, épurée point of sale of Catherine Kugler. Prepared with seasonal products, all salted or sweet pies are made on site and house. From the counter, you can see the preparation of the pies that you are ordering or you are looking for. 6,50 € per salt share and 5 € for sweet. The 25 € brunch is quite correct.

A small enclave of Aveyron in Herblay, in the heart of the Patte d'Oie shopping zone, these halles are a testament to the strength of this collective, participatory concept devised by the Unicor cooperative, originally from Rodez. On the chocolate side, dozens of creations, each as excellent as the next, and for every taste: from assorted chocolates to confectionery, the level of expertise here is very high indeed. As for pastries, there's nothing to complain about either: they're fresh, fine and excellent. Open Tuesday to Sunday, Le Scarabée d'Or is easy to get to, right in the center of town. The famous Swiss chocolate maker who delights gourmets and gourmands since 1845 opened a beautiful shop at the Opera. The first in Paris as such and thus aflagship (magasin phare in French). The decoration is simple and modern at the same time, a little strict for our taste - is Swiss - but the space is very airy. You will find all the collections of the brand where the creativity of the chocolate makers is highlighted and you can even buy chocolates by weight. In order to be different, Lindt plays the proximity: bars and homemade ice-creams are made on site. This address is simply a delight! It offers a restaurant, bakery, pastry, tea and catering. Every desire can be satisfied with Manon! Located on the same premises where Robespierre lived, this gourmet centre is a paradise for savoury and mostly sweet flavours. Before going to work, people like to have breakfast or lunch which, without being very gastronomic suitably falls on the lunch menu at €13,50 at this place which is unbeatable in the district or at teatime. How would you resist the cakes that attract you as you walk into Manon's setting? They are all so beautiful and will tempt everyone; even the less gourmand. The prices are also affordable!

PARIS STORE

3.7/5
3 reviews
Open - Close to 19h30

A large blue brand, less discreet than its competitor Tang, but we find the same lively and teeming atmosphere of Asian stores. When you enter on the left, you see the sauces and side dishes: Nuoc-mam, nam pla, oyster sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce (available in 5-litre jerrycans!), Worcestshire sauce from Léa & Perrins, etc. On the right, a large frozen food section that is really worth it. There are sorbets with exotic flavours, but also shrimps, skewers, nems and various steamed ravioli sold in bags of 50 at unbeatable prices. For rice, there is plenty to choose from with the famous 50 kg bags of butterfly rice, broken rice, noodles, including Japanese noodles, teas, canned drinks and instant soups. An entire section is dedicated to spices and condiments, and alcohols are well represented, so avoid French wine, which is not of high quality. For all fruit and vegetables, the choice is breathtaking. The problem: labels, not translated, and salespeople who are only moderately French-speaking.

The king of sweet treats, the famous Christophe Michalak of Plaza Athenée, "vulgarizes" his sweet little wonders to make them available to everyone. The recipes change every week and you can only fall for its religieuses with salted butter caramel, calissons-shaped cakes, baba or millefeuille au mètre - or for 8 people - or its Kosmik, small verrines to be enjoyed individually… To enjoy our sweet treat even further, he invented surprising chocolates, Krak Krak, a crunchy base with milk chocolate, an excessive coconut praline… And as it is very successful, he opened another shop at the start 2016 in Germain-des-Prés at 8, rue du Vieux Colombier. Courses with Christophe Michalak himself are regularly offered on the website.

LA FERME DE GALLY

Fruit and vegetable producers
3.3/5
4 reviews

At the gateway to the park of the Château de Versailles, the Ferme de Gally is a former priory that has played an important agricultural role in the Paris beltway for centuries. Established by the fathers of the Sainte-Geneviève du Mont abbey, it once provided a relay of livestock and fresh produce, grain and hay for the growing Paris market. Since the mid-18th century, the Laureau family has been in charge of farming. Today, the farm is divided into 4 sectors of activity: self-service picking on over 40 hectares, comprising an orchard and vegetable garden; the "open farm", an educational farm enabling children to approach and familiarize themselves with the animals (cows, horses, pigs, hens, ducks, goats....) and discover nature through fun, hands-on workshops (making apple juice, bread dough and butter, extracting honey from the hive, working with animal footprints, gardening sessions...); a garden center area with a decorating boutique; and also a grocery section. It's the ideal place to stock up on fresh produce, but also to enjoy a brunch or a snack at the café or crêperie, which, of course, cooks only farm products. You can also take part in cooking classes, or for the younger ones, organize a birthday party. An original address, very popular in fine weather. There's also another farm in Sartrouville: Les fermes de Gally!

Before entering the cookie, Alexis was in finance. He's got everything to make his favorite cake, if possible, fresh and fluffy. His vivid imagination blew him to the recipes of French regional traditions, 17 in total: calisson d'Aix-en-Provence, rose praline praline, caramel salty butter from Guérande, Nougat nougat, etc. But it hasn't stayed there. First, there is a daily choice between nine fresh cookies and every month, two new ones appear: smarties, apple-cinnamon, frangipane, gingerbread bread, ice cubes and many others. In addition, Alexis invented salty cookies: olive, quenelle, pine pine, Parmesan. The cookies of La Factory are sold in the room, by box of 8 or 12. The Factory is so successful that it now has three other addresses in Paris… and this is probably not finished!

AU PAS DE SAINT CLOUD

Bakery
2.7/5
3 reviews

It is a bakery that does not always, especially on Sunday where it has the good idea of not closing the day. The cakes are delicious and taste the sweetness of pistachio. But other cakes are equally successful for birthdays, various celebrations or the simple pleasure of a good dinner. The choice is very varied, the service runs there, there is nothing to criticize if the ice is also equal to the general taste as a baker and baker. A bakery to go in loop.

Coffee shop and tea room
2.7/5
3 reviews

The famous Parisian tea lounge set in the Château de Versailles on the first floor of the Orleans Pavilion, in an elegant space of more than 700 m 2, accessible only to visitors. In this superb setting, Angelina's house, founded in 1903, offers all the classics that have made its success, and not déméritent. The warm chocolate of the house, "the African" creamy and based on being eaten in summer, is of course an appointment, as well as a vast and prestigious selection of teas. They are accompanied by pastries whose reputation is not false: the Mont-Blanc (meringue, chantilly and vermicelli of chestnut cream), the abundance to Bourbon vanilla, the "African Shock" (sweet façon biscuit and its black chocolate foam), but also a beautiful map of new such as the lemon cheesecake, the Mont blanc raspberry or even the vanilla, made by Sébastien Bauer, the illustrious chef-pastry de l'teaches. If you're rather salty, large salads with fat or smoked liver, sandwiches club, but also more consistent and tasty dishes such as truffle ravioli or roasted bar are on the menu, allowing you to take a meal on the spot. Other street address in front of the Petit Trianon, near the House of Switzerland. A well-deserved break.

MARCHÉ DE LA PLACE DES FÊTES

Market
2.3/5
3 reviews

It is located in the middle of the buildings of this Place des Fêtes, the heart of a popular neighborhood that evolves for good very quickly in recent years. It is a shaded market with a total of sixty shops of all kinds. They align themselves on both sides of the street and on the square. It is animated and the products are generally of good quality. Some twenty greengrocers and many foreign specialties and non-food products, from plastic boxes to sewing thread. It attracts many people, mainly on Sunday, when many inhabitants of the arrondissements of the east, and neighboring towns come. It must be said that the place is well served: the metro, of course, but also many bus lines, and the tramway a few hundred meters away.
