A team of nearly fifty booksellers is waiting to advise you in its various nooks and crannies. The main bookshop has several entrances, so you can browse the shelves according to your mood: children's books, classic literature, detective novels, science fiction, essays... Twenty years ago, the Terra Nova bookshop set up shop in the Pink City, between the Capitole and the Garonne. This beautiful bookshop specializing in literature from near and far offers real invitations to travel for "globe-readers". Books are either translated into French or sold in their original versions: Asian, African and West Indian literature... Terra Nova is more than just a change of scenery: it's also a place for reflection, where you can revisit politics, history and economics in the light of authors from not-so-distant lands. Stories of struggle as well as comics, poetry and children's literature open an extra-large window on the world.

The Fnac is in what was once the great store «Les Dames de France», crowned with a beautiful dome. The Monument scored its 158 years in 2014. On two levels, Fnac offers library, multimedia, photo works, show box, etc. A multidisciplinary sign that is almost useless to present, we are sure you already know. Reception and advice are a constant at Fnac.

CULTURA

Bookshop
4.5/5
2 reviews

For a large area of the book, video game, DVD and CD, Cultura is really doing well! This store, very widely stocked, is a real incentive to the general culture. Many vendors are more available (when you manage to locate them). You can't find the book or CD you were looking for? You can order them and you will be warned that they have arrived by email or by SMS. This great sign also has the immense merit of having installed its premises on the outskirts of the city. Free parking. One caveat, however: the days of attendance - many! - we must be truly motivated - and courageous - to trace its path in the human tide that seeks its happiness over all the rays. Preferably, get there in the morning, in the morning!

A heart of the Dome of the Halles, Fnac steadfastly resists the traffic crisis in the mall. This place is, and it is magical, an ideal stroll, where several generations are peacefully arriving in contact with books, comic strips, dvds, CD… In short, culture. The youngest ones come to discover the latest mangas, the new comics and if they settle in the radius to read a little piece, nobody tells them anything. Those who do not find their happiness are ordering and, rather quickly, a message warns them that their selection has arrived. On disk, Fnac opened its bins to all musical genres, influences and even to local formations. It is regrettable, however, that the classical radius shortens regularly. One can only rejoice that Fnac exists in the city centre of Nîmes because, besides being a commercial place - and this is its very function - it has become one of the main reasons for the Dome which, without it, would have difficulty surviving. It is not a sociabilisation area (we talk relatively little about it), but it is a living place.
