An Alpine club in Le Havre? I was told that there was only the sea and the cliffs… And yet it is true, and the Alpine Club also works, with walks about every fifteen days.

Every Sunday, this association proposes to make you walk and to raise awareness of nature: two absolutely laudable and ultimately complementary goals. Varied routes and distances, for children and adults, between 6 km and 30 km.

Over 47 kilometres between Evreux and Pont-Authou, beyond the Neubourg, the Green Lane allows, thanks to its coating, the practice of walking, cycling and roller, to the exclusion of any motor gear. Created on the old line SNCF Evreux-Honfleur, it allows hikers to oxygenate in peace of mind. The former Gare station, rehabilitated, hosts the Tourist Office, located on the route of the Green Lane, halfway between Evreux and Le Bec Hellouin.

Signposted from Varengeville, this footpath goes around the Bois des Communes, a peaty moorland which extends over about 15 hectares. Restored 10 years ago, it is home to a particular flora, including several species of heather and gorse, drosera or insect-eating plants. Plants typical of wetlands such as sedges flourish there, as well as a very rich fauna of insects and rare species of butterflies. Interesting to visit.

Between Gisors, capital of the Vexin Normand, and Gasny, discover these 28 kilometers of greenway running along the Epte valley. The route is lined with castles that once marked the border between Normandy and the royal domain of France. Green, undulating landscapes, passing through authentic little villages such as Fourges, Aveny and Château-sur-Epte. Discover the Seine valley and continue on to Giverny and the Claude Monet house, Vernon and La Roche-Guyon. A beautiful walk, rollerblade or bike ride, as you wish...

Nature walks and guided tours are also offered in July and August, during school holidays and weekends from April to October, to discover the cliffs of the Vaches-Noires, the marshes of Villers (a 3-hectare lake with a bird island) or Villers in the time of the dinosaurs. Two other themes of walks have been very successful: the grand tour of Villers (a medium level walk of 8 km) to discover the resort on the sea side and the countryside side, and the tasting walk, an easy 6 km walk, with a visit to a honey producer. For curious gourmets.

The greenway runs from Bernay town centre to Broglie, passing through beautiful countryside dotted with working mills and charming, authentic Norman houses. In all, the 13-kilometre route takes you through the picturesque Charentonne valley. Cyclists, rollerbladers and walkers rub shoulders on a small asphalt road closed to motorised vehicles and horseback riders.

La Manche is a region rich in unspoilt nature with many faces. Between land and sea, the trails wind their way through exceptional landscapes: the granite and sandy coasts, the Cotentin marshes, the green bocage of the Pays de Coutances, the craggy relief of the Mortainais, and then... the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. At the beginning of the church of Moutiers-au-Perche, the path of the ford of Culoiseau takes you through the trees in the locality of Culoiseau. You can admire beautiful houses that recall the religious history of the town. This shaded path is ideal for a trip to children. Bird watching enthusiasts will also find their pleasure for observing the many birds (kingfishers, moorhens, etc.) that inhabit these wood.

The famous long-distance hiking trail, the GR®21, which follows the coastline from Le Havre to Le Tréport, starts from here, at the Fort of Sainte-Adresse, on the heights of the Ocean city. From there, head east towards the Montgeon forest, then towards the Rouelles park. After 45 km of walking, you will come face to face with the Aiguille d'Étretat... And more if affinity... This is a sublime walk to be done at your own pace, but be extremely careful because of the risk of landslides, and above all equip yourself! Walking sticks, maps and oilskins...

The departmental committees of Upper and Lower Normandy merged in 2017, combining their strengths. Answer the call of Normandy and hike in Honfleur, Falaise, discover the castles of Bizy, Vasceuil, the Nez de Jaubourg, Mont Saint-Michel, Tahitou Island, the Roche d'Oëtre... Normandy includes three regional nature parks: the Parc des Boucles de la Seine Normande, the Parc Normandie Maine and the Parc du Perche.

It is a beautiful kilometre-long walk along the Sélune River, from the village of Ducey to the entrance of the Ardennes wood. On a regular basis, you will be able to discover the surroundings and to find yourself geographically. Certified Tourism and Handicap, the site is accessible for disabled people and is a nice place to walk.

Affiliated with the federation, this club offers walks all year round, on half days or entire days.

Although this is not the main vocation of this association, hikes are organised on Sunday all Year Round.

The club, affiliated with the French Hiking Federation, offers hikes every Sunday, sometimes in week, with weekly programming and stays.

Would you like to explore the Eure? The former Évreux-Honfleur railroad line has been transformed into a signposted and equipped itinerary that allows walkers - with or without baby carriages - cyclists, and skaters to cohabit. The Voie Verte links Saint-Georges-Motel to Bueil over a distance of some twenty kilometers. Take advantage of the picnic areas for gourmet breaks with a view! And don't forget to visit the traditional villages along the way.
