The Réseau de Transport de la Capitale offers bus services (serving the entire city), Métrobus (serving activity centres) and eXpress (weekday rush hour service). On Fridays and Saturdays, nearly fifteen bus lines provide a service for night owls (only a few trips are offered at night). Two bus lines (76 and 80) also serve Jean-Lesage International Airport. Well-known cab company in Quebec City. Cabs can be booked by phone, on the website or using the mobile application available on App Store and Google Play. During off-peak hours, the maximum wait is 15 minutes. Cab Coop also offers service to Quebec City's Jean-Lesage International Airport (flat rate of CAN$41.40 for downtown, CAN$47.60 between 11pm and 5am). The company also offers personalized city tours (book at least 24 hours in advance).

Ferry service to L'Isle-aux-Grues, from April to December. Free. Duration: 25 minutes. Hours of different crossings depending on month (between 4 to 1 per day).

Ideally located on the edge of La Fontaine Park and at the corner of two major bike paths, this space is a little paradise for cyclists: a boutique, a travel agency dedicated to cycling tours, the offices of the Vélo Québec association and even a friendly café! Outside, a pump and tools are available to all. On Monday evenings, speakers who are passionate about cycling will share their adventures with you (reservations online). Bonus: small terrace in the shade in summer.

River shuttle service linking the Old Port of Montreal to Parc Jean-Drapeau (Île Sainte-Hélène) and Longueuil (Montérégie region). It allows you to continue your tour by bike, inline skates or on foot, while combining business with pleasure. Take advantage of the crossing to rest and contemplate the city and its surroundings, as seen from the river. For a modest price, while being efficient and original, it quickly connects you from one bank to the other!

Since discovering Isle-aux-Coudres is best done on two wheels (or more!), here is our best address for renting a bike. Among the models offered, we find urban bikes, electric bikes, tandems and quadricycles (2, 4 or 6 adults and 2 children for the quadricycles). Bikes, adult-child tandems, trailers and helmets are also available for the youngest. Parking is included with each rental. Bonus: the team will be happy to advise you on the most beautiful routes and sites to see.

This is the only way to reach this island isolated from the rest of the archipelago. The crossing aboard the Ivan Quinn takes about an hour. Even if cars are accepted, we recommend that you go on foot, as the island is more suitable for hiking. Space is also limited on board, so reservations are not a luxury, and show up at the dock 20 minutes before the ferry leaves. No service on Christmas or New Year's Day.

Navark offers a variety of cruises on the St. Lawrence with different themes, such as wine and cheese, aperitifs, fireworks and more. The company also operates more than a dozen river shuttle services in the Greater Montreal area, notably to the Îles-de-Boucherville national park (departures from Longueuil, Boucherville or Montreal). Finally, it's also possible to charter a boat and have access to a private island for a corporate or family event (bar and catering services available).

The Via Rail train serves Abitibi, Mauricie, Quebec City, Saguenay, the south shore of the St. Lawrence River to the Gaspé Peninsula (Matapedia Valley), the Maritimes (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia), Ottawa and southwestern Ontario (Montreal-Windsor corridor), not to mention the rest of the country. A multitude of passes are available for frequent travellers, but also for short stays and escapades in the country by means of travel cards. Several services on board: free wifi, meals and drinks, etc.

Rather than use the services of a foreign company like Uber, we recommend this local mobility and car-sharing cooperative. The service is currently available in nearly a dozen cities and areas in Quebec: Gatineau, Granby, Mauricie, Montreal, Mont-Tremblant, Quebec City, Saguenay and Sherbrooke. To create an account, download the application from App Store or Google Play. Finally, the cooperative is now included on the Transit app, which lets you find out if there are any cars nearby.

Managed by the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC), àVélo is a self-service electric-assist bicycle system. You can borrow a bike from one of the stations set up for the summer season, for a few hours or for the day (application downloadable from App Store and Google Play). It's extremely advantageous for people making short journeys each time. If you'd like to have a bike for your leisure time, we recommend you use a rental company. Please note that helmets are mandatory.

Crosses between Rimouski (Lower St. Lawrence) and Forestville (North Shore) aboard the catamaran CNM Évolution. Depending on the period, there are from one to three crossings per day, which last one hour and a half. Please note that campers are not allowed on board. For passenger and vehicle fares, consult the website. Reservations are highly recommended, especially in July and August. Please arrive 45 minutes before departure if you are taking your vehicle on board.

Founded in 1944, this Magdalen Islands cooperative is a key economic driver for the Islands. It provides a year-round boat service between Souris (Prince Edward Island) and Cap-aux-Meules (Magdalen Islands) on the CTMA Traversier. The crossing takes about 5 hours, and reservations are essential in summer. CTMA also offers a ferry service between Cap-aux-Meules and Entry Island. Please note that cruises aboard Le Vacancier departing from Montreal have been discontinued in recent years.

Whether you are looking for a new or used bike, or accessories (including the Quebec brand Arkel), you will find everything at Vélos Roy-O. And what about its complete mechanical service (free evaluation, maintenance on appointment except for certain breakdowns such as punctures). A little extra: long-term rental on a buy-back basis. Get a used bike at the normal selling price and the store will buy it back from you at half price (if it is still in good condition!). Very useful for exchange students and "PVTists".

Covoiturage.ca is a carpooling company serving mainly Quebec, but also the rest of the country and the United States. Its activities are divided between local and long-distance carpooling. By reserving via the website, you have access to a wealth of information on the conditions of the trip (space available for luggage, smoking or not, pets welcome, etc.) as well as the evaluation of passengers who have travelled with this driver. Still on the website, a section includes blog posts but it is not very up to date.
