Sugarloaf Provincial Park, near Campbellton, is open all year long, offering both winter and winter. Its summit is only 305 metres away, but once it has arrived at the top it can admire the town of Campbellton, the Restigouche River, the Chaleur Bay and, in the distance, the mountains of the Gaspé, Quebec. In the winter, Sugarloaf opens 12 level-of-the-art alpine ski slopes and one place of the park was specially designed for the riders. Tandem lift and ski lifts in the playground. The park also offers 25 km of hiking cross-border skiing trails along Lake Prichard, as well as snowmobiling. Equipment and accessories for all winter sports are available for sale or rent at the shop. The rest of the year, the park is far from deserted, the peaks of the Appalachian chain are rising by bike, mountain biking, or hiking, too, a pente service makes it possible to reserve its forces for raids. In order to spice up the paths, bends, obstacles and technical passages are the programme, for the greatest happiness of visitors.

The phenomenon can be seen from Fallsview Park and the observation deck of the Reversing Falls Restaurant. To fully appreciate the phenomenon, it is important to check the tide times at the tourist office on Bridge Road. At low tide, the Saint John River rushes into the bay, but at high tide, the opposite occurs and the sea rises. This phenomenon causes the formation of rapids and whirlpools quite impressive. A marvel of nature not to be missed and to be seen up close!

PEAT BOG BOARDWALK

Natural site to discover

Miscou has many bogs but does not exploit them, unlike the nearby Lamèque Island. The 800 residents of Miscou wanted to keep a place preserved by creating this peat trail, a bucolic path about 700 metres long on a wooden lift mounted on piles. Plants and shrubs grow here in a hostile, hydrogeologic environment, that is, they are fed only in rainwater. The typical flowers of the island's bogs are Labrador tea, daphné daphné, and small leaf kalmia. This bog trail has been built to allow visitors to know all about the most emblematic plants of the sites. A little miracle, which lasts only time, instead of every year in the fall: Gaylussacia and kalmia flowers saw red red, giving the beautiful postcard image of the island and one of New Brunswick's strongest symbols.
