National park with views of the red cliffs, classified as a biosphere reserve by Unesco, offering many activities.

Composed of steep hills dropping into the Bay of Fundy, the park is designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and a Dark Sky Preserve by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Two major ecological systems are represented: the Bay of Fundy marine coastal environment and the Caledonian Hills Plateau with its deep river valleys. But the park is best known for its tides, the highest in the world. The phenomenon is caused by the unusual combination of the seiche (the natural swaying motion of the wave) and the shape of the bay, which narrows and is shallower, pushing water over its shores. All of this synchronizes perfectly with the tides of the Atlantic Ocean, hence the high amplitude.

The national park offers many activities (sea kayaking, swimming, fishing, golf, mountain biking, etc.) but it is above all a hiker's paradise with more than 100 km of trails through the forest, near the lakes or along the bay: Wolfe Point trail offering views of the red cliffs, Herring Cove trail, a cove discovering at low tide all the fauna buried under the sand and the rocks To extend the pleasure, it is possible to sleep on site in camping (5 sites plus wilderness camping in the backcountry), in oTENTik or Ôasis ready-to-camp, in yurt and in rustic cottage. Note that activities (no equipment rental) and lodging are also available in winter.
