Its architecture is impressive, like a small bunker made of volcanic rocks, and perfectly integrated into the black decor, dotted with small green touches. The kitchen is also worth the detour. With well-presented and generous dishes such as the plate of solomillo à la brasa, which may be difficult to finish. We recommend the terrace with a view of the San Juan volcano.

Since March 2018, José, a young chef in his thirties and Marcos' nephew, has taken over his uncle's old restaurant, but has maintained the classics that made its excellent reputation. You will always find scrambled eggs, the speciality that had won him several awards, or fried aubergines, lamb with dried fruit, stewed goat meat, vieja a la plancha or homemade croquettes with fish or ham. Now all you have to do is come and test if the relief is up to the task. In the meantime, there's always people around.

Its first advantage, a large terrace that allows you to be almost feet in the water facing a pretty black sand beach. It is the freshness of its fish that has made the reputation of this restaurant. We recommend of course to try the Fula, a fish caught in the bay and the house's speciality, which you can taste with the traditional arrugadas dads. Also on the menu are garlic shrimps, squid and local cheese with its mojo. Good value for money and pleasant service.

The best thing about this restaurant is of course to be able to have a front row seat to enjoy the show: the statues of the Guanche kings with their backs to the sea and the impressive silhouette of the Basilica of the Virgin of Candelaria, both indoors and on the terrace. Apart from the show, we will be able to appreciate the classics: various croquettes, the traditional pulpo a la gallega, the Canarian cheeses or the papas arrugadas. The house is also known for its rice and green vegetable parilladas, assortments of fried vegetables.

It is one of the most recent restaurants in the city. With colorful interior spaces, but above all a terrace overlooking the beautiful San Francisco Square, beautiful trees, and beautifully illuminated at night. The kitchen includes some Canary classics such as dads or mojos presented with grilled cheese, but is also complemented by modern and international touches such as shrimp risottos, vegetable wok or chicken burrito. Without spending any fortunes, a tasting will be pleasant.

A few tables installed on the terrace facing the sea and under the tamarisk trees, this is clearly the great asset of this restaurant. Specialized in Italian cuisine, you will also find honest fish soups, grilled fish like tuna steaks and nice salads, all well presented by a rather pleasant staff. To access the terrace, it is better to reserve or arrive in advance. Otherwise, the large dining room is fully glazed and the views will be nice but you might as well aim for the terrace. Very efficient staff.

In a typical bodega setting, it's the ideal restaurant to try all the Canarian dishes, such as Canarian soups. Bodegon Viana is always full, as it's very popular with the locals. Great atmosphere. One menu, but you can also try the house specialties à la carte. You can, for example, try morcilla, a kind of black pudding also eaten on the peninsula, but in the Canaries it's filled with dried fruit and tastes like gingerbread. Good value and hearty portions.

This casa roja, which deserves its name, is ideally located on the port. With a very beautiful room, but also a terrace that allows you to enjoy the view of the sea or a sunset. The restaurant offers a traditional cuisine, but with finely chosen products and a refined presentation. To test for example a pulpo a la brasa with chimichurri sauce and papas arrugadas. But the place is above all an excellent wine bar, ideal to discover the wines of the island with the very good advice of the team.

Its logo in the shape of a stylized goat's head shows its speciality: goat meat, since this is the little name it is given in majorero language. And in this area it is considered the best in the city, with cooking times that must last more than five hours to guarantee absolute tenderness. All of this is accompanied by the small vegetables that also make this stew a success. But his ambitions also push him to develop new flavours, associated with traditional dishes. Excellent reception in a nice setting.

We appreciate its magnificent sunny terrace which dominates the bay of Puerto del Carmen and allows to see until the island of Fuerteventura, by being careful to choose its place. It is a good address to soak up the local atmosphere. It offers mainly fish (grouper, sea bass) and seafood (grouper, sea bass, scampi...) all very good and copious but you can also try the mixed paella. We also appreciate the gesture of the small digestive offered at the end of the meal. Very pleasant setting, professional and friendly service.

Open since November 2016, this small tapas bar offers a few tables on the terrace facing the paseo maritimo, with all the necessary protection from the sun and wind. As well as a small interior space. As it is masterfully managed by the very energetic and welcoming Joly, it has become a regular clientele who appreciate the tapa of the day to complement the caña or the drink. We recommend his goat meat tapa, particularly tasty and copious. A place to rally from breakfast, very copious.

Overlooking the Charco de San Ginés, but opposite to most restaurants, it offers a nice interior room as well as a small terrace, often in the shade, but protected from the wind. This family restaurant offers traditional Canarian cuisine, with a touch of innovation and a menu that changes with the season. One can appreciate a chicken with goat cheese and vegetables, noodles with seafood before finishing with a chocolate cake... as well as local wines. Attentive and judicious reception.

First and foremost, this tasca has a large interior space and a lovely terrace where you can sit facing the charco de San Ginés, in a white house with blue shutters. Here you can enjoy tuna a la plancha, choco dumplings, cannelloni stuffed with duck, small fried dishes, mussels and, of course, the timeless ensaladilla rusa with picos. All in all, it's enough for a proper tapeo, with rather generous portions more akin to a "plato". For dessert, try Haria's goat yoghurt mousse.

The La Compostelana group had the excellent idea of taking over the former café on the Plaza del Charco, sheltered under magnificent Canarian palm trees. The result is a kind of Swiss army knife where you can find everything you need, from breakfast to the latest cocktail, not forgetting the tapas area and the restaurants. The decor is a little Sissi in the tropics, but it's not without its charm, and the quality and freshness of the dishes and tapas on offer are top-notch.
