Read moreThe chapel of Saint-Briac, known as Bodfo or Bodfao, was built in 1948. Its construction follows a vow made in 1944 by Canon Déréat, then pastor of Bourbriac, who wished to realize the religious edifice in memory of the end of the Second World War. The chapel of Saint-Briac-de-Bodfo was built at the location of a primitive chapel, built on the remains of an oratory built by Saint Briac.

During the renovation process, begun in 1980, the first traces of paintings covered by several layers of lime coating were discovered indoors. It has frescoes of the th and th centuries. Among the biblical characters identified on the frescoes, Meldisedech and Michel. Saint Michel is represented wearing a character, symbolizing a soul, in a linen. This representation of Saint Michel is extremely rare: it is only found on two other copies from Ireland and England.
