Casa Luna is a restaurant and cocktail bar located just a stone's throw from Byron Bay's main beach. Perched at the very top of the building, you'll have a beautiful view of Byron Bay. The place is meant to be festive and trendy, and it succeeds with a beautiful decor and subdued lighting, while still being open to the outside. But it's above all the quality of the restaurant that blew us away: we were expecting fairly classic tapas, but instead we got very well prepared dishes, and all at a very fair price for the quality. A perfect place to enjoy oysters in the open air! Since 1984, the Melrose family has been proudly caring for their oysters, supplying numerous markets in Tasmania and Melbourne. When you visit the Melshell Oyster Shack, you'll have the pleasure of tasting some very good oysters, either gold or silver. The setting is charming, with small tables scattered outside and decorated in various shades of blue. You can accompany your oysters with a glass of wine or a beer. It's very much like paradise!

Opened in February 2024, this small restaurant is our favorite address for breakfast or brunch in Canberra, a stone's throw from the hyper-city center. The menu offers a wide choice of pancakes, savoury dishes such asavocado toast and corn fritters, but everything is very well cooked. The drinks menu offers the classic Australian coffees, as well as generous and very good smoothies. The restaurant is not very convivial, but the quality of the food makes up for it: we give this café 10 out of 10.

We particularly appreciate the speed of service (as long as no group has positioned itself before you when ordering) and the terrace access, which affords a lovely view of the surrounding countryside and the entrance to the national park.

Built in 1898, the Great Western Hotel is part of Cobar's heritage and was designated as a historic monument by the National Trust in 1974. Ideally located, this magnificent white-painted hotel boasts the longest veranda in the state (100 meters in total), decorated with beautiful ironwork. The restaurant, which serves some Italian specialties, is quite famous among the locals and pleases many visiting tourists. However, ask to see the rooms if you want to stop over for the night.
