If you're looking for student life, or a space run by local youth, head to the Cyklopen cultural center, about 35 minutes by metro from Norrmalm. Built by a group of determined volunteers, Cyklopen is a self-managed space in Högdalen, focusing on education, performing arts, music, literature, crafts, culture, and general community goodwill. From concerts to workshops, you'll have plenty of choice for an afternoon or evening face-to-face with young people on the move.

The early 20th century building was the residence of Ernest Thiel, a great collector of Scandinavian art at the time. Great artists frequented his residence, including Edvard Munch, Carl Larsson, and even Paul Gauguin! You will find the colors of winter as well as the colors of summer, between the cold blue of snowy winters and the bright reds of sunsets. In the Great North, life is a balance between lack of light and infinite light, and you can feel it in the paintings... Café on the second floor where you can take a fika break!

The exhibition space extends over three floors and includes a large area for performances, as well as a studio and showroom. As well as offering a glimpse into the world of the performing arts, the museum's interactive exhibits allow visitors to become part of the experience by taking to the stage with a virtual dance band, trying on imaginative theatrical masks or mixing their own music. There's also a café-restaurant with a pleasant terrace running the length of the building, as well as inside. A living, innovative and interactive museum, a must-see. The museum is of sophisticated, modern architecture, right next to Vasaparken. It features three temporary exhibition halls and a rooftop terrace with sculptures and a beautiful view of Vasastan. The museum is also an exact copy of the ^18th-century manor house residence of collector Sven-Harry Karlsson, housing one of the world's largest collections of Nordic art. The museum has a café and terrace open in summer.

Skansen and BalticSea2020 have joined forces to create a unique new centre dedicated to the Baltic Sea. The Museum of Technology is a very modern and innovative museum, offering instructive exhibits on human technological evolution, in a format that is accessible and understandable to all. You also have the opportunity to discover some of Sweden's inventions and their inventors. Who are the men and women behind the techniques that have changed the world? The best-known is, of course, Alfred Nobel. Then there's Anders Celsius, inventor of the degrees Celsius, a system used universally today.

The island of Norrbyskär was once home to the largest steam-powered sawmill in Europe. Gradually a village was established around it, with its church, school and shops; a real community of workers who enjoyed exceptional working and living conditions for the time: high wages, free housing, land to cultivate... But also increased social control. The museum documents the unique history of this community that disappeared as quickly as it appeared, but also offers other activities: art museum, canoeing, small train...

From Skansen Hill, which has been turned into a shady park, there is a good view of the Haga district below, the shipyards, the old town and the river. At the top of the park, the Skansen Kronan tower, built between 1687 and 1699 of large granite stones, is topped with a huge golden crown. It is one of the remains of the city's fortifications, when Gothenburg was the only access to the North Sea, surrounded by the Norwegians to the north and the Danes to the south.

Stockholm Cykel offers you a guided tour of around 15 kilometers through the capital and its outskirts, lasting around 2-3 hours. This immersive experience is a great way to discover the city in a different way, while getting off the beaten track. Reservations are required for each tour. If you want to discover the city at your own pace, unguided tours are also available. You'll be provided with a map and a GPX track, so you can find your way around and track your progress along the way.

In the Mariebergsskogen reserve, a place of nature awareness and discovery. A very special building, built half in the forest, half on the lake, in the shape of a leaf and which carries a giant egg inside. Very informative and designed for children to learn while having fun. They will be able to stroke real wolf, bear or lynx fur. Café with organic or fair trade products, with a beautiful view on the lake.

The castle, which was ordered built by Gustav Vasa in 1549, is today the residence of the governor and the seat of the regional administration. The Rikssalen, or State Hall, where Queen Christine renounced the crown, is worth a visit. It was also here that Erik XIV, in a fit of madness, had influential nobles executed in 1567 (history remembers this event as the "Sture murder"). The castle also houses several museums, including the Uppsala Museum of Fine Arts (Uppsala konstmuseum).

Nature and art intertwine in this cultural site. The permanent exhibition of "sculptures in nature" is an open-air exhibition, between beach, forest and paths, which you can discover gradually at your own pace. From early December, you can enjoy a Christmas meal served on site. Traditional dishes are served, with ingredients supplied by local producers from Värmdö and the surrounding area. You can also take part in a "forest bath", wellness exercises with an instructor in the forest.

Of all the things you discover in Sweden, snus seems to be one of the strangest Swedish practices, which may explain why they've turned it into a museum. The Vasa Park is, in summer, widely visited by the inhabitants of Norrmalm. It is hard to imagine that during the First World War the site was used to grow potatoes to feed certain classes of the starving population. When the weather is fine, the lawns are full of people and the terraces of the little sheds are always full. There is a large artificial football pitch and a children's playground. The statue Arbetaren (the worker) is a tribute to the working class.

With six stops at key points of interest, starting from the former royal hunting grounds, this long bike ride is an opportunity to realize how, in Stockholm, city and nature coexist in harmony. Bike, helmet, poncho in case of rain, map of the island... all included, plus a stop for refreshments and a chat with the guide. All you need to do is reserve an hour for the French commentary... Step off the Liljeholmen metro to find a peaceful, bucolic lake surrounded by forest. Here, in summer, you can enjoy the refreshing waters of the lake for a swim and sunbathe at Trekantsbadet beach. It may seem surprising to find a museum dedicated to spirits in a country where alcohol has been a state monopoly since 1955. This unique venue offers an immersive and educational experience on the history, production and influence of alcohol through time. The Wooden Horse Museum is a small museum with the feel of a souvenir store, where you can contemplate a gigantic collection of small wooden horses originally known as dala horses. Dala horses were children's toys originating in the Dalarna region of Sweden. This typically Swedish object can be found everywhere: on Christmas trees, as a table decoration, printed on a pillow, etc. Take this opportunity to bring one of these horses home as a souvenir!

In 1795, the Jewish congregation moved into a former auction house at Själagårdsgatan 19, where the museum has been renovated today. The building was the center of Jewish life in Sweden for almost a century. The museum invites everyone to discover the Swedish-Jewish heritage and the place of Jewish culture in Sweden. A large part of the exhibition highlights Sweden's role as protector of Norwegian and Danish Jews during the Second World War.

Exhibitions are spread over two buildings, the second of which opened in 2021. The old building was Sweden's first independent public gallery for contemporary art, founded in 1916. As for the second building, it was highly controversial, its architectural style being rejected by some Stockholmers who wanted to treasure the aesthetics of the old building. That said, once inside, the new building is brightly lit, highlighting the works of art.

The house opens onto a beautiful garden which slopes gently down to the lake. You can start your visit here before going to the lake.

Built on a rocky outcrop called Brunkebergsåsen, St John's Church was built in only six years and completed in 1890. The interior, in pure neo-Gothic style, is well worth seeing. The organ and the stained glass windows are superb, and the brown and orange colours that adorn the pillars and the arches are original enough to surprise the visitor. The park around the church is quite nice and Stockholmers sunbathe in the summer.

This large park, shaded by rows of large plane trees, was created in the 16th century by King Johan III. In the past, it was used for extensive hop cultivation. A popular place of recreation and rest, it now extends behind the imposing Royal Library. In its centre is a statue dedicated to the naturalist Carl von Linné. A good place for a picnic or a nap. Take a stroll on the National Day, as impromptu concerts are held here. It is only a few metres from the famous Sturebadet
