Scotsman is one of those good old pubs with an impressive interior space and whose prices reflect the privileged location on Karl Johans gate. The terrace can be enjoyed on sunny days. You can eat a salad, a burger, a goat salad or a shrimp sandwich, which are welcome culinary choices that are actually quite rare in a pub! Also broadcasting of matches or quiz nights. Concerts and DJs on weekends. As you can see, there is rarely a dull moment at the Scotsman.

The Boca is the most famous place for its cocktails. With a more than intimate atmosphere with its 5 tables, you have to get there early enough to get a seat. The 1950's setting, combined with the minimalist aspect, is also part of the decor and people flock there as soon as they leave the office. Attention cocktail lovers! The intimate and lively atmosphere makes Boca a popular address in Grünerløkka that will take you straight back to the 1950s. Exists since 1998. Light catering available, such as sandwiches.

Libertine Vinbar is a remarkable address in every respect. Supposed to be a wine lover's den, as its name suggests, its menu doesn't disappoint even the most discerning connoisseur. From blanc de blancs to blanc de noirs and even sparkling wines, the menu even specifies the percentage of each grape variety for each cru. The decor is uncluttered, soberly designed and obviously trendy. Prices follow suit, with probably the most expensive menu in town. For affluent diners only, an experience not to be missed. Lovely rooftop terrace.

A small Norwegian bar open late every day of the week. Popular and relaxed atmosphere, the Cacadou which opened in 1989 is not about to close. Quiz on Mondays, concert sometimes and good atmosphere all the time, with drinks at low prices! A really lively place full of locals who just want to have a good time after work or the weekend! It's good to sit there and observe what's going on around, it's almost a sociological survey! A sure value of Torggata where we will gladly return.

A very original place, well hidden in the heart of the vibrant district of Grünerløkka and with a thousand and one colours that invite you to discover its interior. Dozens of graffiti paintings run all along the building, inside and outside, in a very welcoming and quite good-natured heterogeneous style. Many concerts and DJs of various musical genres take place there and one likes to take advantage of the colourful outdoor space when the weather allows it. There are also quizzes on Mondays and board games.

A place where it is good to curl up since it is dressed with deep sofas where the customers have fun with many board games. Comfortably installed or sitting by the fire, one could spend hours discussing or being entertained by the discussions and games in a subdued atmosphere conducive to conviviality! The bar is relatively new, but offers not only inexpensive drinks, but also small home-made dishes that will satisfy hungry stomachs. One of the cosiest bar-restaurants in Grünerløkka!

A lovely historic house houses this pub and its piano bar in a very British setting. The music evenings and karaoke are very successful, although the place is primarily a sports bar. It's quite friendly and the place is rather incongruous in this street lined with modern buildings. We like to sit on the welcoming terrace to watch the atmosphere evolve as the evening progresses in time and blood alcohol level. Inside, there are standing tables, perfect for watching the musicians on stage.

A small café as we like them in one of the main streets of the Grünerløkka district, very nice and lively. Few places but an authentic atmosphere, mostly occupied by locals. A few seats outside to watch the people passing by. The coffee is really excellent. Dietary, organic, vegan proposals and more appetizing cakes than the others. Also a smoothie bar, the one with turmeric and black pepper is delicious and invigorating! A nice place for a healthy mini break on your way. Wifi access.

A beautiful place with terrace, deep leather sofas, garlands and red curtains. A very special atmosphere reigns here between these red brick walls, like a feeling of a chalet in the mountains or a grandmother's house, nothing definite but an infinitely cosy, warm place that will easily hold you all afternoon until the evening! In this bar in the heart of the old town, you can even bring your own snack! The prices are affordable and budget travellers will make it their HQ.

Café Sør is a classic among young and old Osloites alike, but it also appeals to visitors. Its location on the pedestrian section of Torggaten is of course not unrelated to this. The food is not exceptional, but it is well served and you will often come out full. Several types of coffee, even more teas. The service at the counter is a bit awkward, but this rite is quite frequent in Oslo. In the evening, one will come to attend a DJ set, or to surfon jazz, reggae or afro notes. Many interesting concerts!

As its name suggests, Kulturhuset is a house of culture. This cosy café and tea room is the ideal place to relax, read a book, read a newspaper, chat while drinking a homemade tea, eat a piece of cake or sip a cocktail, all at a reasonable price. In every city there are places you should not miss. Unique places with an atmosphere that you can't find anywhere else. In Oslo, the Fuglen (which means bird) might just be that kind of place. It is unique for the simple reason that it has been serving one of the best coffee shops in the city since 1963! During the day, you go there to enjoy a good coffee from Ethiopia or elsewhere on an armchair in an elegant and warm setting. In the evening, the place turns into a cocktail, wine or beer bar! Norway is known as one of the best coffee roasting countries in the world. Since 2008, Supreme Roastworks has worked primarily with wholesalers, restaurants and coffee shops in Oslo. But in 2013, Supreme Roastworks opened for retail sales to the delight of its regular coffee lovers! The Barrique Vinbar is the place to be for wine-lovers nostalgic for the old country! In a calm, comfortable atmosphere, the attentive service will present a varied wine list (Sauvignon, Champagne, Bordeaux...) as well as draught beers. To accompany the drinks, the Barrique Vinbar offers small tasting boards to share with friends, featuring assorted charcuterie, pâtés, cheeses, olives and tapas. It's the perfect place for those looking for a relaxing evening of exceptional products.

Jernteppet means "the iron curtain" in Norwegian. One of the nicest bars in the area, with a large choice of beers from all over the world. The clientele is very rich and varied, young and old come here to chat. In the summer, the terrace overlooking the harbour is a great place to watch the midnight sun. In winter, the atmosphere is just as nice: cosy and small candles... Normal prices for Norway, i.e. about ten euros per beer. To be tested nevertheless!

The panoramic bar located on the 16th floor of the Scandic tower, gives us the impression of overlooking the city. In the evening in winter, the lucky ones will be able to admire the northern lights. They also serve small dishes (snacks, salads...) at good prices. As usual, you just have to be careful about what you decide to drink with your meal because the bill can quickly become very expensive in Norway! That said, with so much sea water nearby, it's not so surprising! On a more serious note, it's a chic bar with a remarkable view.

It is an independent coffee chain. Kaffe Misjonen opened its doors in 2007, with the aim of offering quality coffee from controlled production and processed by local roasters. A great mission! On-site catering with good fresh and local products, a real treat. The homemade desserts are a delight. One of our favorite addresses in Narvik. This little pub is a little out of the way and caters for both locals and tourists. It's one of the oldest pubs in town! The atmosphere is guaranteed, and many events are organized (quizzes, concerts, games...). There's also a good selection of beers, both local and mainstream, to keep beer lovers happy. A recommended address for those wishing to immerse themselves in Norwegian culture for an evening, or simply to take a break during the day.

Opened by a group of happy friends, this is the café adjoining the 1916 cinema: one of our favourite addresses with events all week long, intimate concerts and DJs in the evening. Quality films are offered and the same goes for concerts. See the program online or directly on the spot, ask for it the^first day of your arrival! A large choice of vinyl records is available to listen to the music of your choice. On Thursday evening, they also serve good home-made dishes, tapas and sandwiches. Good spirit and nice decoration.

In the city's oldest eatery, you'll find a tiny, trendy café with cheap food, innovative music and atmosphere, and its own art gallery... It serves real French espresso and Italian cappuccinos. But for a little more local colour, the Lysholmer beer from the E.-C. Dahl Breweries in Trondheim is a good choice. There are regular concerts with different guest artists and bands. Very good place to try the local beers. The bartenders will help you choose according to your desires. And fortunately, because with more than 100 choices of beer, including 54 drafts, you could get lost! They also make their own beer. The management has chosen not to play any music, or very little, which creates a very special atmosphere, made of the sounds of discussions, laughter, and above all, of concentration when tasting beer!

Located on the second floor of a building, formerly the house of Ole Bull's father, Johan Storm, the Storm bar, formerly Bola, is a fashionable and design place, with a beautiful terrace and an original decoration. Bar, concert and a little extra for afternoon tea on Sundays. Free Internet connection, comfortable armchairs and sofas in addition to tables, little nooks and tables near the window, there is something for everyone. Try their famous chocolate mousse, mushroom soup or Thai mussels!

Located in a beautiful house designed by the architect Schack and right next to the YMCA youth hostel, this is a small, warm and very cosy café, decorated with checkered tables and candles. Ideal for a reading or study break (free Internet connection), you'll gladly stay a while. Moreover, they serve delicious coffees, teas and small home-made dishes, vegetarian, burgers and others! All organic products are identified and advertised. To be discovered!

A nice café, old decoration, in the style of some Parisian cafés. If it is quiet during the day, it can be very lively in the evening as it hosts a number of artists. Very reasonable prices for drinks and good value for money. The menu is diverse, from salads to burgers, from omelettes to chilli con carne. Their baked Hardangervidda trout is a delight! The homemade desserts are worth it too! Remember to make reservations for the restaurant. A nice place to hang out at any time of the day.

A nice bar with a rather nice decoration, mixing old and modern and a patio for those who prefer to sip a beer in the fresh air. Good atmosphere, concert evenings are organized very regularly, see online program. Mainly parties with DJs to set the dancefloor on fire. It's so good to let off steam after all this period of confinement and deprivation of human warmth! A place that will not please everyone but that is worth spending a moment there, even if it's only a small one!

Our recommendation for a very good fair trade coffee in the centre of Bodø. This little place offers excellent coffees and chocolates (try the chocolate with brown cheese and the ones with cod) as well as very good pastries. You can also find homemade ice creams with original and honest flavours! On request, the doors of the roasting factory will be opened to you, revealing a little of the secrets of this gourmet and singular little address. The Melkebaren premises are well known to the inhabitants of Bodø! To be tested!

This bar brews its own beer on the spot... and it is very good! The spirit of a big English pub with a lot of tables. The menu is rather interesting and will delight meat lovers: ribs, burgers, etc. A good address! Children's menu for only 79 NOK. The sweet potato fries are not bad at all. Fish and chips too. Dessert with apples and chocolate. A nice place to spend some time with friends eating fatty things and good beer if you're tired of fish soup!

A pretty artist's café in a wooden house, located along the promenade that runs along the seafront. The place also hosts exhibitions and concerts. A good option for those who want to get away from the city centre for a while. Homemade waffles and lattes. You can also buy furniture and small second-hand things for the house. Coffee sales. Every month interesting and diverse exhibitions with local artists. A nice and cheap outing. Note however that this café is linked to the local church.

A very nice pub in the heart of the city with a wide choice of beers, not to be underestimated by beer lovers! Moreover, the pub brews three kinds of beers on the spot, recognizable by their cans with a crazy design. And as where there is drink, there is food, you will find a choice of hamburger, fish and chips, or finely served local specialities. All this in a relaxed and sporty atmosphere. If the pub has everything of an English pub, the prices are really Norwegian!

A good beer in the Schouskjelleren has to be earned! If the place is not easy to find, it is worth looking for! Located in the cellar of the old Schous brewery, this tavern with its splendid stone, wood and copper decor is one of the most popular in Oslo. In this room where time seems to have stood still, a huge fireplace warms up the guests and the atmosphere. More than 60 beers are served here, brewed on the premises.

A nice bar-brewery that produces its own beer and offers pork kebabs! Perfect for a quick bite to eat or a group get-together as there is a room upstairs! Original, with its beautiful red brick and copper interior. Several kinds of exclusive beers of course, like the Scream Ale, a pale ale with caramelized notes and only 4,7° of alcohol. Be careful to go home in time because this place can quickly become a place of perdition for the amateurs of good beer!

A very pretty pub, both lounge and rustic, in the beautiful Majorstua district. It's a great place to meet up with friends over a beer, or to dine on Norwegian cuisine - which is to say, rather American! Traditional starters like mozzarella salad or moules-frites. Standard main courses too: steak frites, fish & chips, burgers... The chocolate fondant is not bad at all, with its fresh berries and raspberry coulis. A visit to the toilets is a must - surprise, we won't tell you more!

Here's a highly adorable and... Instagrammable little cafe! Opening in the fall of 2021, this tiny independent café is a converted former gas station... The opening of the cafe was made possible by a crowdfunding. The gas station dates from 1935, which makes it a photogenic place. We stop there to have a coffee break with a pastry or to buy coffee. Since its opening, this small coffee station is very appreciated by the inhabitants of the district because of the welcome and the elegance of the place.

"Au Folk" is the answer to the daily question of the backpacker: "Where can I find a nice, local bar to drink a beer? The inhabitants of Bergen like to meet there all week long to share an aperitif on the terrace or simply to sit at the counter. Several generations mix in this bar and it's a pleasure. Folk og RØVERE also offers food for the hungry: soup of the day, small vegetarian dishes, curry rice with vegetables... healthy and cheap food. Wifi.

This second-hand café is housed in the old building, which used to be the editorial office of the oldest newspaper in Tromsø. Today, locals come to eat foccacia or homemade soup at lunchtime, sitting on school chairs or upholstered armchairs, in the coffee corner at the entrance or in the spacious and bright room a little higher up. A really nice place, for all budgets and where you eat in beautiful mismatched dishes.

Tromsø and Bodø have always fought for the title of capital of the Great North, even today! The story goes that the inhabitants of Bodø, seeking to distinguish themselves, said to Tromsø, a town without train service, "at least we can have a drink at the station café! And so Tromsø created its own "station café". A popular bar, where you sit on train seats, sipping your beer to the rhythm of the wacky announcements on the loudspeakers. And then here, no risk to miss your train! Concerts quite often.

A stone's throw from the port, the Agenturet is an elegant bar. Cosy atmosphere lit by candles, around the bar with exposed stones. It is in a building dating from 1840, that you come to drink good wine and good beers. About 120 different beers and 250 wines to choose from, in other words, enough to satisfy amateurs as well as connoisseurs. Meals are served from 11am to 6pm, everything is home made. The prices are quite reasonable and the team is very friendly and smiling. A place from which one leaves completely satisfied and full!

After crossing the Gamle Bybro bridge, the pretty terrace of the Antikvariatet attracts the eye. You'll want to curl up under a blanket and have a drink. Inside, the atmosphere is subdued, with candles on the wooden tables and bookcases on the walls. On one table, you can play backgammon, while on another, you can play an accordion. A few small dishes to nibble on. At the end of the corridor, another room, lined with books, with multiple beer taps to drink the spectators on concert nights. And every Sunday it's open stage!

The little red house is always full! This alternative bar is surely the HQ of many Trondheimers. Don't hesitate to have a look at their Facebook page, events are often organized, from cultural exchange evenings to small concerts. But one thing is sure, on Sunday at 2pm, it's jazz! You can also contact them if you want to participate in a jam session. It is also possible to treat your taste buds, on the menu, many choices: brunch, salads, sandwiches, burger and of course the fish soup(fiskesuppe).

Pushing open the door of the Maras Pub, travelers will discover a warm, relaxed atmosphere. All the atmosphere of a typical pub is there: large wooden tables, a selection of beers and wines as well as plates of cold meats and dishes will welcome customers. From time to time, the Maras Pub plays host to artists, showcasing the local musical culture. With Laundromat, doing your laundry becomes a pleasure! This café-bar-restaurant is also a laundromat. Ideal for those just passing through the capital. This little pub may not look like much from the outside, but it's actually a very friendly place. Locals have been coming here for 40 years, despite successive changes of ownership. On the walls are paintings by Joan Baez, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan & Co. All the same to your ears, and that's a pleasure! Their pint of lager is the cheapest in town and their local IPA is particularly good, with a smoky taste. In the basement, you'll find karaoke, billiards and a disco on certain nights of the week. Don't hesitate to go there for a bit of local flavor.

A multi-purpose live performance venue: world music, rock, pop, dance, classical music... there's something for everyone and at all times. An eclectic program that feels good! The price of the tickets varies according to the shows, but is generally around 250-300 NOK. We tested for you and we really liked the Finnish duo Vildà of polyphonic singing with accordion and drums! The acoustics are great and the team very friendly. Several stages, including an intimate one where you sit around tables with a drink, really nice!

Pikant Mat is one of Førde's most popular bars. It offers a promising wine list, draught beers for summer refreshment, and the excellent cocktails for which the bar is renowned. In a relaxed atmosphere, customers can enjoy plates of charcuterie and cheese on the upstairs terrace overlooking the river. For the hungry, there's a restaurant on the first floor where you can extend the evening. The menu, though limited, offers simple but fine dishes prepared with fresh produce.

Café Bakeribygget is a place to consider if you're looking for a pleasant coffee break, a quiet place for brunch, or if you'd like to discover delicious local homemade pastries. The Bakeribygget offers a variety of freshly baked goods: breads, viennoiseries, brioches, cakes... There's something for every taste and every budget! All accompanied, of course, by specialty coffees prepared by experienced baristas. You'll always receive a warm welcome from the owner.

The traveler who wants to take a small, relaxed and warm break will surely stop at Mormors! This small café seems to be unpretentious at first glance, but don't be fooled! The warm welcome and the simple and inexpensive menu will satisfy coffee lovers and those wishing to enjoy a small sweet or savory snack. Why not treat yourself to a homemade sandwich or a bacon salad, generously garnished toast, or fresh fruit creations? Coffee specialties will be appreciated at breakfast!

This former glass factory is now an internationally known concert hall. It regularly hosts artists from all over the world, such as Eric Singer Project, Manfred Manns Earth Band, Georgia Satelittes, Doro, Paul Di Anno, Nazareth, W.A.S.P., Slade, TNT and PLUMBO. This is the most active rock scene in Norway, which is saying a lot! They received the Jevnaker Culture Award in 2009. Of course, you can have a drink here.

A rustic and lively pub, where locals and tourists meet. The atmosphere is lively, especially on match nights, when the fans sing along. People like to sit down and have a drink, perhaps an Isbjørn, the beer brewed in Tromsø, in the northernmost brewery in the world. It's not unusual to get into a conversation with the local chatterboxes. A bubble of joy and good humour in this harsh climate and in an otherwise fairly quiet village. Recommended address.
