A beautiful terrace facing the ocean, a tasteful snack-bar decoration, a kitchen without surprise, local and international. The map is varied and offers all kinds of dishes: The incontournable ceviche of camarones (shrimp, counting $ 7) to langoustines has plancha (or garlic…, counting $ 20) through the marinero marinero (rice with seafood, kind of local paella, counting $ 13), not forgetting pasta and meat dishes (carbonara à la exemple, for example, $ 8).

This restaurant doesn't look like much and yet you can eat really well here. The menu offers an eclectic selection of classic dishes, but also Thai ones. Pasta, homemade empanadas, risotto, fish and seafood dishes... There is something for everyone. On the Thai side, the Piña Thaï Bowl caught our attention. A beautiful Thai salad served in a pineapple half, a particularly successful mix of sweet and sour flavours. Also worth mentioning are the excellent ceviches, prepared on the spot and very well seasoned. In short, a nice little address.

Italian and Thai cuisine. One of the best tables in the village, a little more expensive than the others. Chicken sauce Maracuya is excellent. The restaurant is under a palm roof. On the first floor, the street animation is dominated. Concerts on weekends.

Without a doubt one of the best addresses in the city. In an enchanting setting on the waterfront, you are in Italy in a beautifully decorated room. You can come here for breakfast: pancakes, toasts and full breakfasts are excellent. Special mention for the house breakfast, very complete, for 5 dollars. The choice is also vast for lunch or dinner. On the menu: seafood dishes and transalpine specialities in a romantic atmosphere. There is also a wide choice of non-alcoholic house cocktails.

Open for almost 20 years, this bar-restaurant, especially lively in the evening, offers an almuerzo (lunch) and "combos" at a reasonable price. It is worth noting that the delicious crabs, the speciality of the town, are served in a particularly interesting all-you-can-eat formula. One goes there for the setting, resembling the interior of a ship floating on the river, which can be seen sailing from the portholes. In the evening, it is pleasant to have a drink. Live music and karaoke on some nights, especially on weekends.

One of the best places in town where fish and seafood are of course in the spotlight: lobster, crab, fish (garlic, coconut, grilled, in soup, etc.), and the meats are not to be outdone either (seco de chivo, beef, chicken with passion fruit, etc.). The Locro de camarones, a kind of shrimp soup with sliced avocado and corn in the form of Choclos is particularly good and we recommend it. The decor is old in a typical house; the service is professional, but a little too formal.

Distinguished clientele in this famous and elegant restaurant that serves delicious seafood and fish cuisine. The restaurant is also renowned for its meats and its fine wine list. For over 30 years (it opened in 1975), this place has been run by a charming Peruvian woman who speaks French. The address is also excellent for lunch. A divine ceviche and a fish a la plancha will make you happy. Or why not let yourself be tempted by the different formulas of lobsters. The service is impeccable.

Behind the mcdonalds and KFC, several stands offer local economic and roborative cuisine for a dinner or a almuerzo. The servings are huge and can be sufficient for two people (try rice for example). You can sit on the terrace under a parasol observing the go-and-come from Seawall.

Excellent local cuisine, shrimp and shellfish ceviche; humitas, guatita (guts). All at very reasonable prices. It is a pity that the restaurant is closed in the evening.

On the 4 ^th floor of this large store is one of the city's select cafeterias, managed by the descendants of an Italian family. It's not surprising that the speciality of the Casa is the coffee hit, subtle mix of vanilla espresso and ice cream blended. You can also enjoy breakfast or measure yourself at one of the rich club sandwiches in the menu.

After fifteen years in France, Paco, the owner of this pizzeria, has returned with our southern accent! Latin American music groups perform some evenings. A very popular address frequented by a loyal clientele. All the dishes are prepared over a wood fire and the dough is truly perfect, fine and crispy as we like it. Succulent lasagne and various meat dishes are also on the menu. If you like meat, don't hesitate and order a T-bone, the meat comes from Santo Domingo, it is just perfect.

A large restaurant without great charm but serves good local cuisine.

Facing the square of the Cloaks, this vegetarian restaurant offers you a cosy atmosphere. Very frequented by tourists.

This restaurant is located in a family house that has been carrying on the tradition for generations. Around the garden, the gallery shelters some tables where typical dishes are served in a friendly atmosphere, especially during the Yamor festival, celebrated at the beginning of September and during which the natives thank Mother Earth for all that she gives them. A typical drink, made of 7 types of corn, is prepared and you can taste it here if you are in Otavalo between the first and the eighth of September.

On the first floor of a large house. This paradilla with its rustic decor serves tasty meat. The prices, higher than elsewhere, are justified by the quality of the dishes. Big appetites can opt for the parrillada personal (4 different meats cooked on the barbecue) or the churrasco (beef with two eggs). The soups are also very good, especially the crema de tomate. Special mention for the shrimps on the grill. This is a very popular place for families from Latacunga who often come here on weekends. Buen provecho!

At the bottom of a courtyard, this charming restaurant is often full of lunch. Normal, the menu is good (but may not fill the stomach of the big eaters) and not expensive! The restaurant is spread in several rooms, the service is fast and the warm welcome. The almuerzo consists of an entrance (usually a small salad), a dish (rice, vegetables and meat or fried fish), a dessert and a fruit juice.

In a warm atmosphere, you can enjoy all the correct traditional pizzas (wide selection). Practice Sunday and evening when everything is closed in town. Possibility of taking away.

Large choice of wines, natural fruit juices and batidos. On football match nights, people gather here to support the Ecuadorian team, come what may! A pleasant and relaxing stop. This cosy, modern style cafe opens its doors for a gourmet break or late lunch. There are all kinds of snacks and drinks (coffees, fruit juices…). Often live live music evenings on weekends.

It nestles in front of the hotel of the same name. There is a simple restoration of sandwiches and hamburgers, not given, in a cosy atmosphere. Practical and well maintained.

Just a stone's throw from Maldonado Park and the cathedral, an excellent address (which doesn't look like much) for a little hunger after a good walk. The homemade ice creams with all the exotic and natural flavours, the fresh fruit juices and the pastries are pure marvels. The coffee is not to be outdone, prepared with an organic coffee from Loja in the south of the country, it rivals the best Italian coffees. It is here that you will probably have the best breakfast in Riobamba. A must-see.

Among the few Chinese restaurants occupying the station, it has proved to be an excellent option. It offers all Chinese specialties at derisory prices, including delicious soups. The servings are more than generous and a dish of rice or fried noodles is sufficient for 2 people. Kitchen and family atmosphere.

This brand new café kept by a Syrian makes the young Ecuadorians (and sonorities) oriental taste. On the menu: shawarma, falafel, hummus, and chicha ($ 5). You can sit on the benches, in a beautiful room with ochre walls. In essence, art and test film screenings are organised on Sunday afternoon.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. Ideal for breakfast.

All the Viennese specialties are on the menu: wiener schnitzel, Sachertorte, strudel, and even espresso as it is served there, on a small steel tray, with the spoon balanced on the cup! The Argentinean restaurant is popular with local families. The large tables lend themselves to family and business gatherings often accompanied by live music. Good meat (beef, chicken and pork) and fish are served, cooked over a wood fire, in a very friendly setting. The portions are generous and the menu tempting. Pasta lovers will be delighted with the option of creating their own pasta dish. But we particularly recommend the T-bone for those who love beef, it is excellent.

This elegant restaurant with Swiss chalet decor is pleasant for a dinner or a lunch break. It offers traditional and international cuisine (pasta, soups, grills and regional specialities such as empanadas or llapingacho, for example), as well as good coffee and sandwiches. On football evenings, you will find all the aficionados on holiday in Baños! Homemade cakes and pastries, desserts, sandwiches, snacks. And the little extra is the selection of original beers on offer.

Friendly cafeteria open since 1996, close to the central park, offering a light menu of vegetarian dishes, pastas, tacos and breakfasts. Good coffee and zen-like background music. The place is really pretty, and it's great to stop in for a moment to rest or chat with other people. Some evenings, films are shown. You can also swap books for new reading material. In short, an ideal place to meet other travelers interested in the country's culture, which is omnipresent here. Vegetarians will love it too.

Ivan manages this good table of Ecuadorian cuisine with a welcoming decor. One of the specialities is the roasted cuy, to be tasted with good Chilean wine. Breakfast is plentiful and rich. Excellent service and pleasant atmosphere.

Marian's French and Ecuadorian cuisine is so popular that you often have to queue. It is therefore advisable to reserve a table. The restaurant is nestled at the end of a flowery garden where you can sit down; unless you prefer a table by the fireplace... Warm decor, excellent meats and fairly reasonable prices for the quality of the dishes on offer. An address to remember and return to. El jardin de Mariane also offers 6 comfortable rooms with private bathroom, TV and WiFi connection.

There are also seafood specialities in a carefully decorated decor. Good table, well attended.

This cevichería with a large terrace is one of the best places to try the specialties of the Esmeraldas region. Lively all day long, you can taste excellent fresh ceviches (fresh soups with lime, tomatoes, coriander and onions), shrimps(camarón), shellfish(conchas) and fish. There are also hot dishes, such as the famous arroz, a kind of paella in the tropical style, with shrimps, crabs and patacones. The owners have multiplied the experience in most of the commercial centers of Quito (El Recreo, El Jardin, etc.).

A central cevichería that declines the coast's specialities in an elegant setting.

Nestled on the 2nd floor in a @ (or even daunting) building, this popular restaurant and bar offers a varied menu of Ecuadorian, international, Mexican, Italian and Italian dishes. The decor is colourful and warm, the music is a bit too strong to exchange real conversations. It is more for the festive atmosphere than for the kitchen itself. Please note: excellent fruit juices, happy hour every evening and competitive prices. Often full.

Meat and grilled meats are excellent and generously served; so we recommend half-servings to normal appetites! The atmosphere and the cosy atmosphere are pleasant, but the place is devoid of character. Prices are quite high compared to other establishments, but meat quality justifies them.
