A small, cosy café in the heart of Gloucester, popular with locals, many of whom take their coffee to go during the week before going to work. On weekends, you take your time, sitting on the comfortable armchairs and sofas or around the few tables. Apart from the very good coffee and refreshing smoothies, the menu offers a variety of sandwiches, from grilled cheese to BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato) to Lone Gull, the house specialty of turkey, cheese and vegetables. A very nice address.

Located in a historic building designed by architect Daniel Burnham in 1907 and recently restored, Revival Food Hall is ideal for a lunch break between two visits to the Loop. This space of more than 200 ^m2 includes about fifteen stands of varied food (Mexican, Hawaiian, Italian, Asian) from the city's most popular restaurants. Smoked meat sandwich with barbecue sauce at BBQ Smoque, tasty tacos at Antique Taco, cookies at Mindy's Hot Chocolate Bakery... Fast and cheap, food is worth a visit.

If you need a caffeine supplement or a sweet treat, stop here. This young team offers delicious pastries, cookies and muffins to pair with a hot espresso or macchiato. To make sure you don't spoil anything, the coffee is roasted nearby in North Adams. In the summer, the menu is enhanced with iced teas and coffees to drink on the premises or to take away. The location, a few minutes walk from the Williams College campus, is very popular with students. There are also two addresses in North Adams.

This small supermarket located east of downtown offers sandwiches, salads and prepared meals to take away. All the products offered here are fresh, carefully selected and generally meet organic specifications. You can also do your general grocery shopping here and even have a coffee on the sunny terrace on the second floor. It is possible to order online, to have the products delivered and to become a member of the cooperative.

In the same vein as Starbucks, Caribou Coffee is a chain specialized in coffee that started in Minnesota in 1992. It has since spread across the United States, and there are more than forty of them in the Twin Cities alone. To start your day off right, imitate the locals and take your coffee to go! The cakes and pastries are nothing special, but they'll do the trick for a quick breakfast on the go. There are also ice creams, original fruit juices and "bou-rritos".

The place is simple but heavenly for seafood lovers. You can enjoy fresh shellfish by the water. It's a shanty that serves mainly oysters fished in Tomales Bay, but also clams and mussels. You can buy lemons, knives and gloves (very important, since it's up to you). Tip: do your shopping beforehand for an even more festive picnic!

This tiny local on Main Street is the first and only southern California to specialize in the omusubi, a small ball of rice filling meat or vegetables very popular in Japan. This is a little the equivalent of the sandwich for our Japanese counterparts. Everything is fresh and cooked on demand using mainly local products. Count between two and four omusubi depending on your appetite.

Renovated in 2014, the station is now home to more than 10 restaurants, bars and shops. Outside, an imposing stone building where the Union Station Travel by Train sign is red, which indicates, miles to the round, the capital station of the capital; inside, a large Art Deco hall that makes it possible to linger with its elegant and friendly decoration.

However, it's worth the detour for its flagship Vietnamese street food sandwiches - chicken, pork or vegetarian - which are renowned throughout the city and unbeatable value. Ready-to-eat dishes that just need reheating are also available. Proof that you shouldn't be fooled by appearances: even the most unattractive storefronts can hide real treasures!

Here, we come mainly for the pies that are to be damned: try the coconut pie or, for a typical American tasting, let yourself be tempted by the pecan and chocolate pie or the apple and cranberry pie. There are also versions never available, if you ever come at lunchtime. The biscuits, a kind of scones typical of southern cuisine, are not bad either. They are covered with cheddar, bacon or goat cheese. In short, it's not the lightest lunch, but we enjoy it and go back!

A secret the locals are careful not to share... At the tip of Chilmark, this pretty shanty looks like nothing, yet you'll find some of the best seafood on the island. Just look at the queue at peak times! Regulars flock to order their oysters, whole lobsters, freshly caught shellfish or clam chowder, which they then enjoy at the outdoor tables or along the harbor. An authentic (and family-run) place, offering only locally caught products.

This small market that takes place every Saturday is an opportunity to taste local products. Martha's Vineyard is home to many farmers and many of its restaurants stock up at this market, which is held on the lawns of the Agricultural Hall during the summer months. The vendors include both sweet (in all forms) and savoury. The stalls change regularly, but you're sure to find something to eat on the go.
