The visit is accompanied by an audioguide. You can watch the cutting and working of the famous globigerine and create your own souvenir in the stone you work yourself. Limestone Heritage has recently been renovated and extended as part of a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. It also organizes Maltese folklore evenings, which are very popular with tourists. Traditional music and a group of dancers enjoy a buffet dinner at a very reasonable price, including transfer.

Sculpture workshops. This museum organizes very interesting cultural-artistic stays for sculpture enthusiasts or professionals wishing to try their hand at sculpting globigerine, the stone found all over the island and used for centuries as the building material for Valletta's palaces, among others. Whether you're here for a short or long stay, you can carve this stone in the company of professional carvers. All in the magnificent setting of a former quarry transformed into a museum. ST JAMES CAVALIER

Art gallery exhibition space foundation and cultural center

The very massive St James Tower (th century), once abandoned, now houses a very interesting cultural centre. The capital thus has an indispensable tool for its radiation. This also shows how the remains of the past, many in the country, can be usefully rehabilitated. And it's very successful. Temporary exhibitions of photographs, paintings, ceramics and various other forms of art (theatre) are held in beautiful vaulted, clear, spacious and beautifully renovated rooms. And if you are not interested in exhibitions, you can only go to the building, its architecture, its rehabilitation. Concerts, often free of charge, take place. And a cinema offers recent or old films, thematic festivals. Meetings are held in the evening only at € 5. A programme of exhibitions and events is available at the entrance or the tourist office. There is also a large souvenir shop, a bar with terrace and a nice restaurant offering some Maltese specialities.

TA PEPPI - MALTESE STONE CARVINGS

Art gallery exhibition space foundation and cultural center

You've seen them everywhere, these rounded, streamlined, often feminine sculptures, carved from globigerine, the beautiful local stone. Here's your chance to meet Joe Xuereb, copied but never equalled by so many craftsmen today! 30 years ago, Joe was trying to reproduce a Neolithic statue found in a temple. This was to be followed by a lot of work, a continuous flirtation with the objects found on the island by archaeologists, until he created an obvious artistic identity, today propelled on the international scene where he is nicknamed the "Gozitan Botero"! Joe will be delighted to open the doors of his studio, 100 m from the village church, free of charge. Don't hesitate for a second, especially as Joe speaks excellent French!
