De Santis, it's kind of like the temple of paninis. Come without preconceived ideas, because here the paninis are sacred and the quality is no longer to be proven. Inside, exposed beams and a few small bistro tables make the decoration of this bar a little rustic. The products are of high quality and the choice is almost infinite since there are no less than 160 varieties of paninis. There are even fruit paninis! And if your taste buds are delighted, you're also well received and the service is always impeccable. Enjoy your meal!

A bakery-pastry-food shop, De Rossi is an institution in Verona. Here you can simply have a slice of focaccia or pizza for a few euros to eat in the sunny Piazza delle Erbe, which is only a few steps away. If you are rather sweet, try the local speciality, the rice flour petits fours, but also the baci di Giulietta e Romeo, biscuits filled with chocolate cream. It was here that Adolfo Kind settled in 1898 and began to slide on his skis, introducing the sport to Italy for the first time and giving the first lessons. An ideal place to take a break during your sports day, there is plenty of room, especially on the terrace, in the middle of the slopes, and the atmosphere is very friendly, with a warm welcome. Good pizzas, good dishes including polenta and chamois and, at night, torchlight rides.

The team has imported the piadina from Emilia Romagna, a culinary speciality consisting of a thin round cake made from wheat flour and lard or olive oil, salt and water, which is topped with fresh and tasty products, prepared and (sometimes) grilled in front of you. We loved the piadina with freshly cooked aubergines, with its drizzle of olive oil, but also the vegan kebab. To discover without fail!

His speciality are the piadine, these thin patties of wheat flour that can be garnished with an infinite number of ingredients. The Piadineria of Piacenza is located near the cathedral, ideal for a quick snack between visits. Paste and products always fresh. This bakery in the centre of Turin offers 100% natural bread, free of brewer's yeast, palm oil, preservatives, sugar and many other ingredients often used in bread making. Panacea is in fact part of the Filiera della Farina di Stupinigi, a social cooperative that produces flour in a natural way not far from Turin, and then makes bread with natural leaven (here called pasta madre). A real institution in Trastsevere, this little bakery offers wonderful breads, pizzas, biscuits and ciambelle, all made on site. 

At Francesco's, the cichetti are different from one day to the next as the imagination of the owner seems infinite. With castraure (local artichokes), moscardini (small octopus), smoked salmon, melon ham and more, the choice is endless depending on the season and the market arrivals. The goat cheese crostini (small sandwiches) are simply delicious and the prosecco never alters your desire to keep tasting everything. Most certainly one of the best cichetti addresses in the city.

Focacce with oil, sage, cheese, onions, vegetable pies, farinata and pizzas... This tiny bakery in Boccadasse is probably the best in Genoa. No strict opening hours, but just walk past it along the alleyway that runs down Corso Italia towards the sea; in season, the oven is almost always in action and the whole alley smells of warm bread. The store itself is well worth a visit, with its tiled counter, wooden benches and old photos on the wall, it's like something out of the 1980s.

In dialect, cherenta means crescentina or tigella, a round, flattened bun from the mountains of the Apennino modenese. Its characteristic shape is linked to its traditional method of baking: the dough pieces were stacked alternately with terracotta discs before being baked in a wood-fired oven. You can taste the famous setteveli of Foggia, a cake composed of seven layers (sette veli means "seven veils") alternating cocoa biscuit, fondant chocolate mousse, Bavarian hazelnut cream, etc. It is perfect for an aperitif accompanied by appetizers.
