Getting around by train Slovenia

It is located west of the city, on the left bank of the Sava River. This is the Jesenice-Ljubljana line. The city is fairly well served during the week, a little less on weekends. To find the bus station, continue past the tourist office (2 Stosiceva ulica). Gorenjska is well served from the country's fourth largest city with Alpe Tour with, for example, about 30 daily buses to Bled and about 15 buses to Bohinjska Bistrica.

Built in 1844 and modernized in 2021. From Maribor, international connections are available to Graz, Vienna, Belgrade, Budapest... But also to many cities inland, such as Murska Sobota or Ljubljana via Celje. The station is just a few hundred meters from the historic center. Tickets can be purchased at the central ticket office, which is open all day, or directly on the train from an authorized ticket inspector.
