ZANONI & ZANONI

Glacier
3/5
1 review

This renowned tourist attraction has been in existence since 1971, founded by one of the Italian families who reign over Viennese ice cream and delight ice cream lovers. The store is huge! A long menu of popular flavors and creaminess... You can also settle in for a coffee, chocolate, pastry, crêpe or breakfast. Savoury sandwiches, filled croissants, salads... There's more than one reason to stop off at the Zanoni family! Two other addresses (Burgring and Meinl am Graben).

EISSALON AM SCHEWDENPLATZ

Glacier

On the lively square near the East Railway Station, this glacier has its followers who cross Vienna to order and enjoy an ice cream cone. This Italian ice cream parlour offers a long menu of flavours, each one tastier than the last. Beware of excesses however, these are not sorbets but creamy and caloric ice creams. You can sit down on one of the many public benches right next door

EIS GREISSLER

The brand's two stores on Rotenturmstrasse and Mariahilfer Straße delight customers with their long list of natural ice cream flavors, all made from organic milk and natural ingredients, with no artificial flavoring. This trendy new ice cream parlour in Krumbach, in the countryside south of Vienna, offers original, seasonal flavours. Would you dare try an asparagus sorbet? Everything is beautiful, organic and good. From vanilla to blackcurrant, from poppy to pear, from chocolate to goat's cheese, it's hard to choose.

PAOLO BORTOLOTTI

Glacier

Chocolate isn't the only gourmet specialty in Vienna: there's also ice cream! Paolo Bortolotti has been one of Vienna's most famous Italian ice-cream makers since the 19th century. It's hard to resist the temptation of Bortolotti ice creams when you're out shopping on Mariahilfer Street. Stores line the length of Vienna's main pedestrian shopping street. As it should be: a wide choice of ice creams and sorbets to take away or enjoy on the spot. Try the delicious turmeric ice cream! Also Viennese pastries.

EIS-GREISSIER

Glacier

There's a long queue in front of the counter at this ice cream parlour on the main pedestrian street! The ice creams are excellent. This well-known Austrian ice-cream brand, made with good mountain milk, offers generous portions and divine flavors in cones. Apricot, goat's milk yoghurt, apple caramel, strawberry, poppy... You'll be back several times during your stay! And for a little peace and quiet while you're enjoying your ice cream, take a stroll through the nearby cemetery, home to the Mozart family tomb.

EISSALON CAFFE PERRELLA

Glacier

The number of ice cream parlors in the city center is impressive. It was the Italians who came to Vienna to treat the aristocracy to their ice cream. Since then, the ice cream cone has been democratized. Try several, and you'll rarely be disappointed. This one is very popular for its downtown terrace. There's often a queue, but you only have to pass by a few times to finally find a quiet moment. I particularly like the chocolate and yoghurt ice creams... There's a public bench right next to the ice cream. Also espressos... Italian.
