In short, ideal for a lunch break between two swims.

A very pleasant gastronomic experience, with dishes such as bone marrow with lemon, olive oil and curry, goat dumplings with pistachios or steamed skate with orange zest. There's no doubt about it: this restaurant offers a Greek cuisine more refined than the classic taverns! We also come here to taste octopus in red wine and miso sauce or lamb with fennel and Chalkidiki olives. The chef and owner, Sofoklis Yiagtzoglou, is really very talented and inventive!

Located opposite the shore and close to Lake Voulaigmenis, this classic tavern, opened since 19989, is ideal for fresh fish and seafood. Come at midday to enjoy the view.

Very good pizzeria if you want to change a little bit from the Cretan diet, even if there is nothing better for health and taste! Quiet and romantic setting, it doesn't look good but it's always nice to enjoy a good pizza once in a while. The kitchen offers a menu of good quality Italian dishes, copious and inexpensive food. It will be an interesting alternative for large families who want to satisfy the little ones while paying attention to the budget.

A romantic and flowery restaurant, with beautiful rooms and a breathtaking view of the caldera. How to resist its arbour facing the caldera? This traditional restaurant has been open for over 20 years. Greek cuisine and varied a la carte or in menu: mezzes, fish, seafood, meats, soups, salads. We also tasted grilled sardines with basil and roasted tomatoes and an excellent rizogallo (rice pudding). The view over the caldera, the romantic atmosphere and the quality of the services will not leave you indifferent.

From breakfast to dinner, this establishment located on the port, to the right of the landing stage, is, as its name suggests, open all day long. It is often full, has an excellent reputation and hasn't stolen it. You will find a varied, simple and quality Mediterranean cuisine (dishes, snacks...). Also note a good service and a friendly atmosphere. It is an ideal place where you can go for a brunch or a cocktail in the evening. It's also a place very frequented by locals, which is always a very good sign.

Simple and tasty cuisine with products from the region. Local meat (goat, pork) is recommended in red sauce or lemon. Excellent value for money and family atmosphere in a lovely courtyard.

A beautiful address on the seaside, with an exceptional view of the Rio-Antirio bridge. A holiday resort for Athenians or Greeks from other regions, the atmosphere is friendly. A la carte, dishes combining traditional flavours and Italian influences. We liked the arugula salad with dried tomatoes, pine nuts and goat cheese from the region, linguine with mushrooms and parmesan, keftedes (meatballs in the oven) with a yogurt sauce. And what about chocolate desserts... a real delight!

A restaurant slightly set back from the beach, with incredible flavors, impeccable service, a very good tsipouro and very affordable prices. Good quality food in the kitchen with a menu narrowed down to a few classics. Fresh seafood, variety of starters, relaxed atmosphere. The place is nice, but beware, in summer, you absolutely have to reserve to find a table! The service during peak hours is maybe a bit random, but we are on vacation, patient, and that's the price of success...

This small traditional grocery store offers very good products of the best quality you can enjoy on the few tables made available to the shop. Salty bouts are also offered every day. To watering home lemonade or ouzo, depending on time and envy.

A highly recommended address. You will find that all the dishes served here are (re)worked with finesse and elegance. The pinnacle of this work is found in the amazing version of pasticcio. And the recognition of these efforts appears in the Greek Taste Beyond Borders Award received in 2021 by owner Zacharias. Let's not forget to mention the location, a nice terrace by the beach of Pollonia, all elements gathered to have an excellent time here.

This tavern overlooking the beach of Nas is one of the best tables of the island. You can taste fresh fish, perfectly grilled. Be careful with the bill though: get the price of the fish confirmed before ordering because fresh fish is expensive. Otherwise, opt for all the delicious dishes prepared by the hostess, especially her baked chickpeas and her kathouropites, turnovers with local cheese, the kathoura, and vegetables. The spaghetti with lobster is a must of the house. To be enjoyed in the evening, under the setting sun.

This pleasant tavern is located slightly behind the small port of Limnia: you can eat the best fish dishes and mezzes from the sea in the area! The owners of the place have their own caïque which brings back a daily catch, guaranteeing the absolute freshness of the fish prepared here. We sit at the large tables on the vast terrace and let ourselves be tempted by an authentic and tasty home cooking. The service is warm, the portions are generous and the prices very reasonable. To be washed down with a local ouzo, like the Kazanisto.

In an alleyway near the port, this authentic Kavala address is popular with local youth who come to pick up mezzes and ouzo. Speciality of fish and seafood: dogfish (skilaki), red mullets (barbouni), grilled octopus, sardines... The servers do not encourage consumption and will advise you on the number of dishes sufficient for two people as the portions are so large. Good value for money! And if you're passing through on a Friday night, you might find a concert. In this case, the atmosphere is great.

A perfect lunch stop for hikers who have undertaken a tour of the island of Donoussa. The tavern is located at the northern end of the only road on the island. On arrival: a beautiful setting, a view of the sea (of course) and a home-made cuisine with daily dishes. Surrounded by amateurs and locals, you will have a great time with a really warm welcome. And good to know, before or after: the restaurant is two minutes away from a small beach with clear waters. You can also get there by caïque from the main port.

It's not the most comfortable, nor the prettiest, nor even the most central establishment in Glossa, but the little Pergola canteen is renowned throughout the island for its delicious souvlaki and gyros. We sit under the pergola or inside on the plastic chairs, with the locals who come to throw some skewers in the belly before continuing their day. The location on the road is not made to give envy but what counts in the end, it is what you have in the plate. And for a more beautiful view, take away!

Located on a plateau between Panormos and Agnontas, this young and dynamic initiative was born in recent years. Tasty street food, to be tasted on picnic tables happily set up near a mini-farm where you can meet some animals (the little ones will enjoy it!). In the plate, you will find flavors from elsewhere, perfectly prepared. Ideal for a small light snack, which does not want to compromise anything in terms of taste and quality.

This restaurant is an upscale option in the old town of Alonissos. Located in the most authentic and charming part of the village, it offers creative and tasty cuisine, a change from the more classic taverns usually found on the islands. Here, the chef honors some of the best products of the Aegean islands, starting with the famous tuna of Alonissos. Another undeniable asset is the view of the Aegean Sea from the terrace, which you wouldn't suspect from the outside. Reservations are required in season.

Open your taste buds wide, you're in for a treat. To begin with, you have to choose between sitting in an old grocery store, with a lush decoration made of luminous colanders, lanterns, jam jars and vintage cans, and the annex set up just across the street in a sort of barnum on stilts. In any case, you can eat very well for cheap: shrimps sagnaki, tarama, tuna rillettes, everything is to fall. Very good white wine also with the Antithessi produced in the Parissi winery, the best vineyard of the island.

Small and nice pizzeria with a view of the port that makes a nice change from the usual Greek cuisine. The specialty of the house is the pizza vesuviana with spicy salami, onions and mozarella, but we preferred to opt for a garlic bread with cheese, succulent tagliatelle with salmon and especially for a mushroom risotto with parmesan and porcini powder to fall on the ground. Not forgetting the little tiramisu that goes well to finish. The whole went very well with the small dry white wine of Corinth of the owner, we enjoyed ourselves.

The Karnagio is located at the end of the old port, where the old shipyard used to be. An exceptional beach bar, notably for its immaculate marble beach, with beach furniture in the boho chic trend, the Karnagio is a little jewel in Liménas. One comes here to swim in comfort, of course, but also for its breakfast brunch, to be accompanied by a good espresso freddo and its light lunch menu of fresh and tasty mezzes. Don't miss the sunset too, to be admired with a drink on the west side or on the roof.

This pretty tavern spreads its tables outside under the big plane trees of the small square of Agios Dimitrios, before arriving to Christos Rahon. One comes here for its delicious home cooking, which honors the Ikari products, such as the goat cheese of kathoura, the local olive oil or the traditional stews like the vegetarian soufiko. For the amateurs, the dishes based on kid are famous here. We like the very relaxed atmosphere, in the calm of the village, which sometimes welcomes some musicians in the evening.

It is probably the first pizzeria opened on the island, appreciated by the locals for 30 years for its pizzas cooked in the original wood-fired oven. The prices are more than fair, which makes the place very popular, even crowded by locals and visitors. Pasta, Greek specialties, homemade ice cream are also available... All this on a very pleasant terrace, facing the sea of course. On the multicultural side, among the pizzas, some are revisited with feta cheese for the adventurers of the gastronomy...

This mezzedopolio , which has been in existence for over 30 years, is a reference in this close suburb of Athens. It offers a wide range of mezzedes based on seafood products. The manager,^Mrs. Zoe (I Kyra Zoi), and her son prepare daily dishes, salads, traditional dishes based on fish, shellfish and fresh seafood. Enjoy, among others, mussels with rice, fried pink shrimps or anchovies, crab fritters, sea urchin roe salad (depending on the season). Good and pleasant setting.

A superb tavern by the sea whose quality does not decline! The quality even seems to improve over time. We particularly recommend saganaki shrimp or grilled shrimp. But everything is good and really cheap. The fish are fresh and tasty, don't hesitate to follow the waiter in the kitchen to choose the one you like! Greek ready meals are also à la carte for a very fair price. The quality of the welcome is quite exceptional. And icing on the cake: the location.

A few steps from Gazi Square, in an alleyway that retains the charm of old Athens, the starred chef K. Alexopoulos offers a gastronomic cuisine inspired by Greek, Spanish and Latin American flavors. Not particularly touristy, it has gained favour with the locals. The stews and dishes are prepared on a daily basis, according to the recipes of the mothers and with good local products. On the menu: stuffed tomatoes and peppers, moussaka, lamb chops, spinach rice, etc. Family atmosphere.

This hut located on the beach is not lacking in charm. If you want to sunbathe while sipping a cocktail and contemplating the island of Naxos, you can rent a deckchair and its parasol. A no-frills establishment, it's all about quality and good humour. Known for its juicy grilled meats, you'll be sure to try the grilled chicken chops. Some delicious traditional stewed dishes (stew, fish soup, meatballs, spinach pie, etc.) are also offered.

From the glassed-in dining room of Nissos, one has the impression of being on a Greek island. With a full view of the Saronic Sea, this gastronomic mezzedopoleio offers a menu inspired by the flavors coming directly from the sea: grilled octopus and sardines, fried small fish, seafood, crab with small Greek pasta, spaghetti with lobster or shrimp, etc. A very good address to enjoy a beautiful sunset at the time of the aperitif or the meal, right next to the marina of Palaio Faliro.

One of the island's sure values when it comes to grilling. Mostly frequented by Greeks, this tavern has a very nice terrace with a beautiful view of the port of Korissia. The establishment, run by the family of the same name, is normally open out of season, but only at weekends for the locals. Otherwise, you will enjoy a classic and quite typical restaurant with a very nice view of the port. Food is simple and tasty and quite copious (as usual, remember to share the dishes!). Very good value for money.

Koulouri is the Greek street food par excellence. It is a small bread wrapped in sesame seeds, in the form of a large bracelet! A healthy and effective appetite suppressant, it has been satisfying munchies at any time of the day for many years. The "Koulouri de Psirri", the best in town, has been produced for over fifty years according to the secret recipe of E. Papageorgiou, the owner of this bakery. More than 7,000 rolls are produced every day! Other delicacies are also offered: cheese rolls, raisin rolls, etc.

We are about to reveal one of our favorite addresses. The Thalassamou restaurant is located at the end of the beach, where it enjoys a royal isolation. We sit on the terrace or under the trees, with our feet in the water. The spot is charming but simple, you feel good. Marios Salmatanis, who revisits the local cuisine after training in France, serves incredible tarama, eggplant caviar, fava, sardines and guacamole, bruschetta, mussels with garlic and white wine, squid cooked in its ink... Everything is to die for. And it's not expensive at all!-

The restaurant of the Galaxias hotel has a very pleasant setting, with a garden and a balcony. His famous homemade local noodle veal is really delicious when not reheated in 5 minutes in the microwave, and the village pie with corn flour too, not to mention their famous goat soup or leek pies. Very pleasant restaurant located in a shaded square. The souvlaki (skewers) are good and the lamb is unforgettable. All this can be sprinkled with a good grape variety from the region!

This beach restaurant opened in 1964 for bird hunters and is still run by the same family. It is typically the kind of beachside restaurant one would want to find on vacation. You dine with your feet in the sand and the food, although simple, is of excellent quality and prepared only with products from Paros. Don't forget to ask for the grilled fish, absolutely delicious. And the fava, beet and bread spreads are not to be outdone. Finally, not to spoil anything, the prices had the good taste to remain very low.

Located in the port of Mikrolimano, it is the perfect place to eat fresh fish in front of the sea: on the terrace or inside, you feel like you are on an island. Zefyros, which has been around for 80 years, has managed to reinvent itself while remaining faithful to the quality of the raw materials and the heritage of traditional cuisine: taramossalata (a dish with smoked cod eggs), rice pilaf with mussels, shrimp risotto, stuffed squid... The menu of fresh fish and shellfish is varied: lobster, prawns, sea bream, red mullet, sole, among others, are offered.
