More than for its architecture, this th century convent convent deserves a visit for its rich collection of Italian art. Works by Luca Giordano, Andrea Vaccaro and Guido Reni, great Italian painters of the th Century, are exhibited in the church.

Founded by a papal bull in 1460, it was one of the very first convents in the city. With elements built from the 15th to the 18th century, the complex has a wide range of architectural styles. Of particular note are the cloisters, with their delightful atmosphere, and the church, emblematic of Andalusian Mudejar art, the latter exhibiting several paintings by Valdés Leal and a collection of women's portraits. You can also enjoy the beautiful view from the mirador tower overlooking the church tower and the sweets made by the sisters.

The Virgin of the hair, whose church has a gold representation and enamel, is a gift that a Cardinal made to the Ayala family. It contains a relic of the most original: A hair of the Virgin Mary… You can also admire a beautiful Gothic altarpiece, which is a copy of the one at the Institut des beaux-Arts in Chicago.

Situated on the heights, the convent offers a magnificent view of the city. Now transformed into a residence of the third age, the convent is a perfect example of Gothic style. Next to the church is the church Santa Maria del Jus del Castillo, built at the location where a synagogue was built. Adjacent to the church is the Centre for Interpretation of Romanesque Art.
