Located in the centre of Arucas, this very imposing church is nicknamed the cathedral. It is an architectural curiosity, the work of the architect Manuel Vega, whose construction began in 1906 and was completed in the 1970s and which contrasts strikingly with the general architecture of the village. It is made of grey basalt, in neo-Gothic style. Inside, some works of art of great value, such as that of the Canary Islands sculptor Manuel Ramos.

This picturesque village with its small fishermen's houses was probably founded at the end of the 18th century by Catalan and Valencian emigrants such as the neighbouring Isla Cristina.

These gardens are located on each side of the avenida of Buhaira (behind the bus station of San Sebastián). Since XII^e century, they constitute at the same time an agricultural and entertaining space. More recently they were the object of archaeological and historic studies in order to be able to make a public park of it. At the time, the caliphs almohades made there build a palace which serves as residence of summer: Al-Buhayra (the lagoon). In 1892 the superb house néomudéjar of María of Los Angeles was built (what involved the demolition of the remains of the palace almohade). The unit is declared monument historico-artistic in 1972, and in 1981 are discovered remains of necropolis Muslim. Palm trees - date palms, orange trees, lemon trees, olive trees, sages of Granada, acacias, fig trees... are planted in these gardens; petrol of the Andalusian vegetation.

Opened in 2002, it offers several possibilities for sports activities (nautical, horse and adventure) or cultural (including the Maritime World Museum), all along the coast.
