Located in the centre of Arucas, this very imposing church is nicknamed the cathedral. It is an architectural curiosity, the work of the architect Manuel Vega, whose construction began in 1906 and was completed in the 1970s and which contrasts strikingly with the general architecture of the village. It is made of grey basalt, in neo-Gothic style. Inside, some works of art of great value, such as that of the Canary Islands sculptor Manuel Ramos.

église de San Juan de Bautista à Arucas
Plus de 50 ans pour construire cette immense église en basalte gris (1906-1970)
Elle est imposante surtout quand on voit le village sur les hauteurs.

Elle est en basalte gris, de style néo-gothique et franchement elle jure un peu dans le paysage plus habitué au style roman.
A l'intérieur la température est surprenante un peu avec climat de maison troglodyte.
