You travel 2,482 metres in 8 minutes. Beware the wait can be very long... So make sure you get there before 10:00, the rush hour when all the buses arrive. Moreover, the view from above is better with a morning light. Please inquire beforehand, if there is a lot of wind the cable car is closed. Precautions to take: beware of mountain sickness for the most sensitive as you will be arriving on the highest peak in Spain. The cable car does not operate as a precaution in high winds.

The walk starts from Castaños street, near the Campo Volantin, between the city hall and the Salvé bridge, to the top of Artxanda mountain, 250 meters above sea level, a leisure area with large green spaces, walks, bars and restaurants. It offers the best view of Bilbao. Inaugurated in 1915, the funicular travels 770 meters in 3 minutes, with departures every 15 minutes. In addition to its utilitarian function, the funicular is a tourist attraction in Bilbao.

ASCENSOR PANORÁMICO PUERTO DE MAÓ

Funiculars and cable cars

Maó's panoramic elevator now connects the upper part of the town (the town center and the Claustre del Carme de Maó) with the lower part, i.e. the port of Maó (in this case, the elevator arrives at the foot of the Parc Rochina). Free to use, the elevator not only facilitates pedestrian mobility, but is also an attraction in its own right: as the elevator rises, panoramic windows reveal the beautiful expanse of the port! How convenient!
