This funicular descends from the monastery to the Holy Grotto, the presumed place where the Virgin appeared to the shepherds.

Ideal for those who wish to visit the chapel and the cave where the image of the Virgin was found in the year 880. In the lower station, you can see exhibitions about the legend of Santa Cova and the history and operation of the funicular. Inaugurated in 1929, this small train connects the abbey and the Santa Cova path, to the delight of visitors and pilgrims, who can admire the breathtaking panoramic view of the Montserrat mountain.
