A bet between friends that turns into a great adventure, that's sort of the story of Open Water Brewery, open since December 2016. The founders wanted to mix their passion for craft beer without moving from Åland. To see, know and try. The result is a magnificent selection of beers and ciders, sold in their store (but also in a few other stores around the archipelago). Many of them are seasonal and hard to find, so when you come across them, don't hesitate!

The only brewery in Turku where you can see the beers brewed directly on site, through a large glass window, before enjoying them in the adjoining room (or on the terrace, as the case may be). The Kakola brewery is also a symbol of the revival of the eponymous area, formerly home to the city's prison. It's now a district in full revival, as evidenced by this very pleasant place, where you can relax with friends for an evening. It's also possible to visit the brewery (booking required).
