The Nile Porch is undoubtedly the most chic address on the Bujagali website. Panoramic view of the Nile, greenery and wildlife are some of the attractions of this establishment with clean and pleasant accommodation (small private porch, warm decoration...). The pleasant and refreshing swimming pool as well as internet access are included in the rate. Very honest price/quality ratio. The Black Lantern restaurant is also a little marvel! Finally, the house offers many activities, especially water activities.

Excellent welcome and panoramic view of Lake Nyabikere ("frog lake") - frequented by fishermen and their traditional boats, pelicans and even two hippos - will be there if you stay at the Bushpig, which opened in December 2019 on the site previously owned by the CVK Resort. Located on the road leading from Fort Portal to the Kibale Forest, the resort has basic, clean, mosquito netted rooms and a small campground with a barbecue.

This hotel, located a stone's throw from the golf course and a short hop from the Imperial Mall, suffers a little from its gigantic size with its 269 rooms and four restaurants. Consequently, the friendly staff, the large swimming pool, the equipment in the rooms (flat screen TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, wifi...) and the smile of the Aga Khan IV on the unmistakable portrait in the lobby cannot prevent this establishment from exuding a certain coldness. Note the presence of a gym and a sauna.

Clinging to the slope, the Hawk's Eye (whose name is by no means usurped) dominates the locality of Rutinda and the bay that bathes it. The Hawk's Eye, which is accessed by a steep path, has a row of hammocks for you to relax in while enjoying the view, clean and uncluttered safari cabins and tents, and a small twelve-sided swimming pool. The campsite is nice and the lodge staff can rent you a tent if necessary. Many activities are organized by the staff. Food is passable.

Run by a Frenchman, this small hotel smells like France. At the reception desk, the walls, like the picture rails of a museum, are decorated with reproductions of works by Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec. The rooms, with a small outdoor terrace, are named after French artists. A small garden with a Lilliputian swimming pool provides access to the spacious, clean and warmly coloured accommodation. Opposite the hotel is the restaurant, famous for its wine cellar. Perfect for a romantic stay.

A good address for those who want to relax without ruin, this hotel offers a few pleasant rooms as well as small cottages in a lush garden. There is a good kitchen and the staff is warm.

For those who wish to sleep in the city centre without breaking the bank, Hotel Jeliza offers a few simple - even rudimentary - but clean rooms equipped with TV, mosquito net and bathroom. Free Wifi at the reception. Low-cost dining, including localspecialities such as muchomo, and the possibility of enjoying a healthy drink in the bar-restaurant in the inner courtyard. Good value for money for small budgets, although the establishment is aging rather badly. Free parking

This hotel has large, bright, comfortable and fully equipped rooms (air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, safe, etc.). Some even have a small, pleasant balcony with a view of the golf course. The buffet breakfast is served in the large hall on the ground floor, which has recently been refurbished. There is also a gym and two restaurants. A round of golf and wifi free of charge offered by the management to its guests. Welcome with a smile and excellent service.

Founded in 1997 and located about 4 km south of the city centre, not far from the road leading to the Tanzanian border, this backpackers is popular with Ugandan volunteers and youth groups. The rooms are, on the whole, quite basic. The campsite is, on the other hand, rather pleasant. Those who wish to cook their own meals can use the kitchen free of charge. Relaxing site and good welcome.

The forty rooms of this guesthouse, frustrating and sometimes noisy, are nevertheless clean and equipped with a TV, mosquito net and a bathroom (the conveniences, sometimes outdated, work erratically). It is possible to eat in the small restaurant on the ground floor. The location of the Vienna, in the centre of Masaka, is both an advantage for those wishing to discover local customs and a disadvantage for Beijingers allergic to the frequent nocturnal noises emanating from the street...

Enjoying a magnificent view of the canopy and surrounding farmland, this ecolodge perched on a ridge is less than 3 kilometres from the UWA premises from which you can launch your gorilla tracking. The lodge has five bandas with balconies, cottages and two "nests" that dominate the site. The well-equipped and well-kept rooms, the carved wooden chairs around the fireplace where a campfire crackles at night, and the smiling welcome of the staff are all pleasing signs that the Agandi has been discovered.

Within two walls. From your terrace, you will indeed be leaning against the wall of your room and will face the green wall. From this virid ocean sometimes emerge buffaloes, elephants, chimpanzees, duikers, even gorillas, the Holy Grail... The simple and clean rooms are hung on the side of a hill whose summit is crowned by a bar-restaurant. Here, you can escape the chilly evenings by settling down near the hearth. In this room, where good food is eaten, some zoological works are available.

Founded in 2017 by an Australian woman, Yoly Phillips, Karungi Camp is popular with many travellers. Why is it so popular? For the interaction it allows with the inhabitants of Rubuguri, for its team, for its sober, clean, equipped and - compared to the rates charged on the outskirts of the park - inexpensive rooms, for its advantageous location for those who wish to discover the beauty of the region and to engage in gorilla tracking (the starting point for tracking in Rushaga is located 8 km away) and, finally, for the activities it offers.

On the plus side: relatively affordable rates for backpackers wishing to sleep close to the park, an excellent location (on the edge of the trail leading to Nkuringo and its UWA offices, located 4 km away) as well as breathtaking views of the jungle from the cottages and the restaurant. On the other side of the coin: expensive meals, recurrent dysfunctions in the rooms and, concerning the multiple activities on offer, organisational problems and sometimes excessive prices...

Isolated at the eastern end of the bay, the Victoria Forest Resort is nestled between a white sandy beach and a boqueteau. Rooms are distributed in bungalows and buildings built on two levels. Some of them, despite their cleanliness, are small and sparsely decorated, making them quite expensive in terms of comfort. Camping is possible. Activities include: canoeing in the bay, mountain biking, sport fishing, swimming in the pool, relaxing under the straw hut erected on the beach and tutti quanti.

Planted in the middle of eucalyptus trees, on a hilly peninsula where agriculture predominates, the Edirisa camp ("window" in chiga) will delight backpackers. The dormitory, cottage and family house are simple but very clean and equipped with mosquito nets. Open-air showers and wooden cabins, which serve as toilets, are never far away. Meals (including breakfast at 8,000 Ush) are excellent bills. Also note the free access to wifi, the establishment's canoes and the unlikely swimming pool. Modest prices and a nice welcome!

Although rudimentary, the rooms at Fort Coleb each have a shower room and a mosquito net. Located on a hill in the peaceful Kakyeka district, and more precisely on a piece of land that until recently housed an annex of the Havana Café, this small establishment was originally the family retreat of several high dignitaries. A bar-restaurant, offering a few simple dishes and cold drinks, allows you to eat and quench your thirst without having to go all the way downtown. A warm welcome.

Situated on the edge of the park, close to the national road and Kyambura Gorge, this sister establishment to the Kingfisher Safaris Resort in Jinja has twenty-four round thatched cottages. The whole complex is friendly, but the cottages are unfortunately crowded on top of each other. There is also a small swimming pool, a pleasant garden and a beautiful view of the Rift Valley. Camping is possible. Souvenir shop.

With its twenty-six self-contained rooms (TV, internet connection, mosquito net, bathroom, fan or air conditioner, etc.), clean without being fancy, the Dove's Nest is a suitable option for anyone who intends to spend one or more nights in Gulu. The hotel also has a cosy bar (restored in 2020) and a restaurant of some kind on the ground floor of the main building on its quiet walled plot. It is possible to reach the city centre in approximately 15 minutes on foot.

The charming address of Entebbe in a beautifully restored former colonial house from the 1940s. Reservations are essential as The Boma is very popular. The swimming pool and several kiosks, set in a green setting, decorate the hotel's courtyard. The interior, mixing ethnic and colonial influences with modern comfort, is very successful. The rooms are pleasant and duly equipped. The small restaurant Céans enjoys an excellent reputation. A small library is, finally, at the disposal of the customers.

Located less than a thousand metres from the starting point of the muddy trails and slippery bays that cut through the jungle, Gorilla Safari Lodge is a charming establishment. Here you will find a pleasantly appointed lounge-restaurantand no less attractive chalets. The latter are duly equipped (wooden balcony, mosquito nets, safe, shower room and even, for some of them, a fireplace...) and, in most cases, colourful. The lodge offers the possibility to criss-cross the surroundings on foot or by bike. Good reception.

Situated on a sloping hillside in Kololo, just a few steps from some of the best restaurants in the capital and close to the golf course, this small hotel has unobtrusive, clean and functional rooms, many with direct access to a garden. The attentive staff are happy to provide valuable recommendations and ideas for outings to the guests' ears. Breakfast is generally of good quality. Good value for money and excellent location.

This backpackers is conveniently located on Acacia Avenue, close to excellent restaurants and a stone's throw from many of Kampala's nightlife hotspots. The Bushpig has dormitories, on the first floor, with a common shower room (showers, WC) functional outside the rooms. The two floors above house the upper class rooms. On the ground floor, in addition to the bar-restaurant, there is a luggage locker, a TV room and two small areas (equipped with benches and cushions) where it is nice to surf the web.

Yellow Haven is undoubtedly one of the best addresses in Kampala. With an excellent value for money given its position on the shores of Lake Victoria, this haven of peace has clean, pleasant and original rooms. You can let off steam during the day, as the Yellow Haven organizes many activities (cycling; hiking; visiting the capital; traditional Ugandan cooking classes...), then relax in the early evening by the pool and sauna or by indulging in a massage. A warm welcome awaits you.

This motel, ideal for a lunch break, has spacious rooms equipped with a television, a clean bathroom and a mosquito net. The Skyblue, which faces the Courtyard Hotel, of which it is a less comfortable but more economical counterpart, also offers the possibility to sleep in bandas (or cottages, depending on the name chosen by the management of the establishment). Despite some occasional problems, such as power cuts or the vagaries of the wifi, the entire complex is still suitable for a night or two.

Opened in 2001, this well-maintained hotel doesn't look a day too old. Once uncommonly located west of the city centre, 300 metres west of the main road leading to Jinja, the hotel has 79 cosy rooms, many of which overlook the beautiful patio pool and the restaurant on the edge of the patio. A fitness center and the organization of excursions (Sipi Falls, rock paintings of Nyero, Wanale Ridge...) will spice up your stay even more. Friendly welcome and good value for money.

This is undoubtedly the most popular place of Mbale for bazungu volunteers! The rooms, some of which are distributed on either side of a central covered space, are not distinguished, except for the most expensive, by their decoration. However, they all have their own bathroom and a mosquito net. The plus of the Casa? It is undoubtedly its roof terrace where it is good to have a drink. Safaris are also organised by Casa Uganda Safaris, whose information and booking office is located near the reception.

Despite a substantial increase in rates in recent years and (sometimes) morning ruckus, the Suba Motel remains a correct alternative for the tight budgeters who wish to visit the Ishasha area without breaking the bank and without the round of cats around their tents. Located in the town of Kihihi, about ten kilometres from the track linking the border post of Ishasha to Katunguru, this unpretentious hotel has small, clean and fully equipped rooms (WC, shower, mosquito net, fan...) and serves hearty breakfasts.

Parkview. This establishment, which dominates the plain where the park is located, could not be better named. Large pleasant circular huts, each bearing the name of an illustrious African leader, rooms set on dizzying stilts and budget rooms equipped with all the amenities make up the accommodation part of the lodge. On the relaxation side, the swimming pool, sauna and massage will help you relax. Eating and drinking will be satisfied under the large straw hut where TV broadcasting the latest news and fresh fruit from the garden will pass the time. Excellent welcome.

The Mutanda Eco Community Centre is the geographical and financial counterpart of Chameleon Hill Lodge, offering cheap accommodation on the lake's lapping waters. Rooms, which boil down to the essentials, a panoramic platform, rising some ten metres above the shoreline, and a new restaurant complete the picture. A community establishment tailor-made for small budgets in a beautiful natural setting.

Palace? With regard to the two buildings that make up this establishment, the name is a bit hyperbolic, even presumptuous. The building, a little faded, which houses the reception, has a few rooms equipped (TV, shower, WC, air conditioning, refrigerator) but without any charm. The second building is more recent and its rooms have a balcony; therefore, prefer the latter. The very good point of the Nile Anchor is undoubtedly its bath garden with its palm trees under which tables and three swings are installed. Good reception.

With its relaxation area (hammam, massage parlour...) and beauty salon, the Al-Nisaa hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city. Rooms are clean and equipped with TV, fan, refrigerator, bathroom and wifi connection; the most luxurious rooms also offer a tea service. Those overlooking the street are a little noisy, but this is within reasonable limits. The dishes and fruit juices served in the restaurant are generally very good. Excellent reception.

With its 130 rooms - clean and equipped, but without primer - the large Brisk building does not arouse excessive enthusiasm. Many of the rooms overlook Lake Victoria and its fish farms; choose them to enjoy the delicious breeze that sometimes blows in from the lake and a hint of calm . The hotel is flanked by a beautiful swimming pool (accessible to non-hotel guests for a small fee) from the shores of which a deafening music is played on weekends. Wifi.

Equipped with a bathroom, a work table, a fan and a mosquito net, the rooms without fuss of this establishment are clean and functional, we say it to you "cash". Small restaurant on the ground floor. Note that this hotel, inaugurated in 2007, has a branch (Hotel Kash-North Wing), whose rates are somewhat different, on plot 92 of Kampala Road (+256 702 751 466). The location of this guesthouse, in the middle of the city, and the hospitality of its staff are two undeniable assets.

A billiard bar, a health club,an outdoor swimming pool, a beautiful garden, very clean rooms and a very welcoming staff: Cepha's Inn, located in a quiet area, is undoubtedly one of the best addresses in Kabale. Except for the gym and sauna, which are a bit poorly maintained, this establishment has a lot of good points, such as the amenities and spaciousness of the rooms, the soft grass waiting for the campers' tent and the fairly good kitchen.

Two interior courtyards provide access to the 40 or so rooms, well maintained and equipped (bathroom with shower or bath, mosquito net, television...), of the Sandton, a hotel located in the heart of the city. The rooms in the courtyard overlooking Kilembe Road open onto a patio, while their counterparts in the second courtyard, in the middle of which it is possible to have a drink, are on two levels. The restaurant, adjacent to the entrance hall, allows passers-by to zip along Rwenzori Road. Good reception.

Immersed since 2014 between Lyantonde and Kifuruka lakes, Papaya Lake Lodge is a charming address. The escapes on the Rwenzori glaciers and the lake below are superb, as are the nine comfortable, soberly decorated cottages. From your room, you can reach the restaurant by beautiful shaded walkways and the swimming pool by a footbridge over the access trail to the lodge. The bar-restaurant, with its fireplace, wickerwork and armchairs with zebra cushions, is a real success. An establishment to be discovered!

Freshly erected safari tents, a green lawn to plant your canvas, clean dormitories, rather pleasant rooms and cottages: these are some of the attributes of this establishment, opened in 2020 by the tour operator Kara-Tunga. With its excellent breakfast (included in the price of the night), excellent food, the relaxing setting of its common areas and its attentive staff, it is the best address in town!

This small guesthouse located in front of the UN base has simple but clean rooms, equipped (TV, air conditioner or fan, wifi, shower room, refrigerator...) and functional. The welcome is charming and the location convenient, 3 km from the international airport (the staff can organize your travel to/from the airfield). A small garden with tables shaded by umbrellas and a good quality kitchen complete this nice description. All in all, an unpretentious but recommendable address!

Appreciated by the feathered gentleman (souimangas, weavers, flycatchers and consorts), this structure offers a pontoon on which to bask in the sun, a restaurant featuring crayfish and other fresh local products, a plethora of activities (canoeing, visits to traditional forges, hiking, discovery of the lake islands and islets, meeting with the Batwa living on the southern shores of the lake....) and, despite their rusticity and slight decrepitude, pleasant rooms overlooking the lake. Good welcome.

This establishment, on the edge of the forest, has more than one asset to offer: twelve clean and comfortable cottages (some with a bathtub, others with a shower) set in a beautiful green setting prized by baboons and cherished by birds, the use of renewable energy, a pleasant restaurant-lounge under a large straw hut (where traditional dances are sometimes performed), a friendly staff and an excellent location on the national road between Bigodi and Kanyanchu. A good address.

On paper the Bomah has everything to please: an excellent geographical location (not far from downtown shops), a swimming pool (accessible to people not staying at the hotel for 10,000 Ush), a health club, a restaurant-bar, fully equipped rooms (TV, fan, bathroom ...) and a truly friendly staff. However, there is a snag... The premises, especially the rooms, are hardly maintained. Many walls are cracked and paint is lacking. There is however no alternative in town...

Located some 5 km from Paraa, on the left bank of the Nile, the Twiga (the giraffe, in Swahili) opened in 2017. The ten safari tents, erected on platforms and protected by thatched roofs, are very comfortable. They have a terrace where you can admire the riverside papaya and the waltz of hippos. The bar-restaurant is located under a large straw hut and is flanked by a swimming pool. The bar-restaurant allows you to observe the opposite bank of the Nile where elephants regularly come to drink during the dry season. Charming welcome.

Situated opposite the Botanical Garden, the Precious Guesthouse is distinguished by the exterior walls of its eight rooms, plastered and painted with fuchsia, and by its flowered pergolas. The interior of the accommodation is rather sober but very clean and equipped with the essentials (mosquito net, private bathroom, fan...). The guesthouse has a bar nestled in the green garden and a restaurant overlooking the street. The chef concocts excellent dishes using fresh local produce, such as tilapia. A warm welcome awaits you.

Charming small lodge of eight rooms offering a beautiful view on the surroundings. Nestled high above the road, it is easily recognizable with its green facades. The rooms offer pretty four-poster beds made of local wood and small terraces. They are equipped with a private bathroom. Everything is simple and comfortable. In the evening, we meet around a fire and in the restaurant for a simple and local cooking. A good address

Arriving from Kabale, don't miss, 5 km before the UWA offices in Ruhija, the sign indicating the trail to Broadbill Forest Camp (located 1.5 km from the fork). Set between farmland and forest, this isolated camp is well worth the detour for its simple but well-kept tent safari tents, home-cooked meals made with fresh fruit and vegetables, a garden popular with chameleons, butterflies, primates and beautifully feathered birds, spectacular views and, last but not least, a smiling and knowledgeable team of birdwatchers!
