This luxury lodge is nestled on an airy hillside overlooking the Rufiji River plain. It is reached by plane directly from the camp's airstrip. There are eight luxury makuti-roofed stone bungalows, each with its own plunge pool and spacious terrace, and a villa with two suites and a private pool. There is also a treehouse platform for an unforgettable night in the wilderness. The price includes entrance fees and safaris (boat trip, game drive, walking safari), but not airfare.

This camp is one of the most luxurious in Selous. There is a daily flight from Dar to Kiba, the private airfield of the Sand Rivers, a 45 minute flight, with Coastal, to land directly there. Built in 1994 in the heart of the Selous National Park, it offers superb views of the Rufiji River from its lovely pool. A small hotel held by a German, very well situated, close to the centre and on the beach. The rooms are simple but correct, in wooden bungalows. Prefer the closest to the beach. Good food (shrimp, fish caught in the morning…) but very slow service. It's above all for the location and the price we come here.

Set back from the beach in the heart of Paje, this hostel has the merit of having sculpted a superb designer swimming pool in its coconut tree-lined garden and built small square white houses as well as a beautifully decorated ecodome. No decorative frills for the basic rooms and dormitories, but functional, impeccably clean spaces. Some are ventilated, others air-conditioned... Trendy Yeoyum restaurant, yoga center.

It is composed of villas on two levels with veranda sea view. In terms of activities, there is plenty to do. Diving or snorkeling, safari in the park of Saadani, kayaking, walking in the mangrove, mini-cruise, walk in Pangani, or observation of baby turtles (depending on the season). If you come by car, it is preferable to have a 4x4 as the road to the lodge can be sandy. Wifi, swimming pool.

One of the best new mid-priced plans in Nungwi: brand new bungalows of 20 to 30^m2, impeccable, simply equipped with beds with mosquito nets and no big frills, but with air-conditioning, fan, bathroom and private terrace with an outdoor sofa. Its little plus: a beautiful swimming pool in the middle of a luxuriant garden, and a copious sweet and sour breakfast. The whole place is well located not far from the main road of Nungwi, the beach on the west side, and the center of the village. The restaurant is honest and serves good food.

This small hotel in the center of Nungwi is a good option in its price range. The rooms are recent, sober and spacious, with Zanzibarite beds and air-conditioning. The new suites are sumptuous, with magnificent Arab-Swahili bathrooms. All have private balconies. We love its position close to the beach and its beautiful pool with a magnificent dhow in the middle. How original! A small garden and rooftop restaurant complete the setting.

This is the latest business address to open in Dar es Salaam, which remains affordable yet offers real comfort and luxurious services. It's located in a large, distinguished grey stone building on the southern edge of the city's CBD, where there are currently no other hotels. So it's close to the hypercentre without being in a chic district. The well-decorated rooms are enhanced by arty paintings, and the pool is just as pretty and pleasant. The style is local, yet elegant. Free parking.

Rooms feature all the standard amenities of a 4-star hotel, and are spacious and furnished with colorful armchairs. Some suites are equipped with a kitchenette. In addition to the classic services (good restaurant, bar), the must-have of this hotel is a spectacular rooftop pool, quite small but with a view over the city.

Located 4 hours from Dar es Salaam and 20 minutes from Morogoro, Mbuyuni Farm Retreat offers a relaxing country experience. The 3 bungalows (for families of up to 4 people) are set in quiet, peaceful surroundings and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Two bungalows have kitchens. This recently opened hotel in the heights of Iringa guarantees a comfortable vacation just a stone's throw from Ruaha and Mikumi parks. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms feature king-size beds, intricate lighting and raised ceilings. The service is very professional and the restaurant serves good fusion cuisine. The only regret is that the pool is too close to the rooms overlooking the patio and lacks greenery and deckchairs. But it's worth the effort! Prices remain affordable for Westerners.
