Without doubt one of the most interesting tea factories to visit. This tea factory has been in operation for more than a century. The guided tour is interesting to learn more about the different tea processing processes. A small museum briefly tells the story of the plantations in Munnar through some photographs and period objects. You can also visit the plantation with a tasting. And why not take the opportunity to bring back a personalized souvenir, namely a tea made by you?

Located 3 km from Karunagappally, Alumkadavu is a shipyard where Kettuvalam is built, these houseboats designed to hold on backwaters. It is also the starting point for many cruises.

Achenkovil is a river along which many temples are found. It is also the name of the forest surrounding the banks of the river. A major Hindu pilgrimage center, the Achenkovil Sastha Temple is one of the five Sastha temples of Kerala, presided over by Lord Ayyappa. This god of growth is Shiva and Mohini's son, a female avatar of Vishnou. The waterfalls of Kumbhavurutty (in Aravappulam near NH 208) are a popular attraction in the region. Trek possibilities in the vicinity.

Also called Agastya Mala, it is a 1,868 meter summit located in the chains of Sahyadri, on horseback between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It can be approached on foot from Bonacadu, 61 km from Thiruvananthapuram.

With its dolphin beak form, this rock offers one of the most popular views of the surrounding area. The view is spectacular, especially to observe Sainte-Catherine falls.

The road that goes down south from Marina leads to the charming Elliot Beach. The shoreline offers a pleasant expanse, ideal for relaxation and recreation. The modern temple of Astalakshmi and the Velankani church are revered places of worship on these shores. On the beach is the Karl Schmidt Memorial, a monument honouring a European sailor who drowned in 1930 while trying to save a little girl.

Karwar Beach is named after the Bengali poet: "Karwar Beach is certainly a good place to understand that the beauty of Nature is not a mirage of imagination, but reflects the joy of the Infinite and thus drives us to get lost. Where the universe itself expresses itself in the magic of its laws, it may not be strange to miss its infinitude; but where the heart is in immediate contact with immensity in the beauty of the smallest of things, is there still room for discussion? »

Ancient city founded by the Tughlaq dynasty at the beginning of the th century. The fortress is only a few ruins. On the other side of the road is the wall tomb of the sultan Ghiyas-ud-Din, which evokes more a fortress than a funeral monument… and is reminiscent of the rather harsh manners of the time. The sultan was reportedly murdered by his own son in 1325.

In the Western Ghats, 14 km from Nagercoil and 33 km from Kanyakumari, these waterfalls are appreciated by lovers of great calm as well as trekkers. The beautiful waterfalls are a popular place for picnics. Near the falls, a small temple associated with the wise Agasthiar attracts a large number of religious on the full moon days of Chithirai (April and May). They come to worship the altar after a bath in the falls.

The Auroville site was formerly a remote and impoverished rural sector, surrounded by thirteen villages, with a population of over 40,000. A number of Aurovities have undertaken to «bring this land back to life» with the help of its villagers. After twenty years of hard work, they managed to regenerate the soil through organic farming methods, without using artificial fertilizers or chemicals. The four million trees planted with 2,800 acres have successfully created a lush green belt. Be careful not to stray on the tangled and tortuous trails that only the aurovial foresters really know.

Located 7 km north of Thalasserry, and 15 km south of Kannur, this 5 km long beach is ideal for a walk or a picnic.

A small park unknown to tourists offering a beautiful view. The atmosphere is quite friendly but the road that leads from Acap is not the most accessible. Excuse families.

Two kilometers of trek in the jungle will take you to the largest and most spectacular of Wayanad falls. Caution, however, they are extremely dangerous and bathing is formally discouraged.

The astrophysics laboratory is built on the highest point in the region, 3 km above the lake. The museum is open to visitors but prior permission is required to visit the observatory.

To get on it, it's a difficult 45-minute walk by pushing your bike, but to get back down, it's only 5 minutes! Make sure your bike has good brakes...

The MGR Film City complex includes film studios where many Tamil films are shot. It is sometimes open to visitors, but it is still better to check with the tourist office.

It is also possible to visit the AVM Film studio website, where TV series are mainly shot. Access is free; you can stroll through the reconstituted village houses and a fake police station, all of which is quite decrepit.
