Less touristic than the bazaar of Port Louis, but very busy all the same, it is a cheerful open-air market which is worth the trip. Camelots sell basketry, fabrics and cheap clothes. Nothing exceptional, but good deals are possible on T-shirts, colorful outfits for children, shirts... provided of course that you do not endorse counterfeit products! The atmosphere is relaxed, the site and the ambiance are nice, and the whole thing exudes a very local fairground charm. Do not hesitate to bargain.

Originally created by a mother and daughter, Cottons is a brand for women of tunics, pants, dresses, kaftans in warm colors and noble materials - a line of flowing clothes imported from India, comfortable because made by artisans in simple and authentic materials: light cotton, silk, wool ... No mass-produced products and rigorous selection of each print. Also fashion accessories (necklaces, hats, bags, clutches, baskets...) and a qualitative collection of household linen.

Created by an avid bargain hunter and traveler, the Macumba concept stores are a treasure trove of original clothing, jewelry, souvenirs and gifts at a wide range of prices: tunics, dresses, pareos, costume jewelry, vacoya baskets, decorative objects, household linen and more. The new collections are renewed several times a year, and also showcase Mauritian know-how through a selection of local handicrafts.

There is also a boutique in theRuisseau Créole shopping center in Rivière Noire.

Created in 1999 in south-west France, a warm and friendly brand inspired by the Basque Country and bullfighting for its design and printed materials. Stylish and authentic style, which dares strong colours. Its current organ point: t-shirts sublimated or printing artists'texts and paintings on transparent and fine materials. Each article is almost exclusive since only 200 models of the same pattern are produced! But Paséo are also beautiful shirts for man or woman, sweaters, shirts, pants, shorts, dresses… and a small collection for the child. In Mauritius, where the trade mark has its production units, the clothing is sold between 20 and 40% less expensive than in Europe: a chance! Two shops: one in the commercial complex from Creole Creek to Black River and the other at Port Louis's Caudan II (upstairs).

Developed in Mauritius by a French designer with a passion for travel, fashion and the sun, this is a concept store with a stunning decor that showcases the island's savoir-faire, starting with the designer's own two pretty brands: Belle & Toile (beach tunics, dresses, bohemian summer clothes, bags, clutches, etc.) and Filao (gold-plated jewelry inspired by the islands). In the same spirit, several collections by local designers are regularly offered in the boutique on an ephemeral basis - swimwear, ceramics and more. We're fans!

We're not talking about the baskets you'll find everywhere, but chic, bohemian Madagascar bags worthy of the finest houses, part of whose Mauritian collection is styled and made in Mada by LVMH's official supplier in a superb alliance of leather and woven fibers. The other models presented in the boutique are the fruit of Lili's own creativity. There are also clutches and pouches in beautiful leather, and a collection of jewelry in lacquered horn by a Hanoi-based designer. Prices justified by quality.

The boutique, like a secret of aesthetes, is nestled in a Mauritian house along the coastal road but outside the city center. For more than 20 years, Michel Abad, a French designer, has been creating his elegant collections of dresses and tunics, cashmere and embroidered linens (initials, monograms, drawings, etc.). Everything is handmade in natural materials such as cotton voile, linen and silk. On site, Le Comptoir du Cachemire offers a timeless selection of ponchos, stoles, scarves, plaids, hats, etc.
