MARCHÉ KOUZNETCHNY
Read moreThe most popular market in Petersburg. There is also a curious antique shop in the market hall, which is impossible to miss. Pay attention to the babushkas selling solenias, flowers and herbs in front of the market entrance. Sometimes their goods are of better quality and always cheaper than in the stalls under the hall. In the near future, the market will be rebuilt and modernized like the European markets, but it is not yet clear when the work will start.
CHUDNYI STARIOVCHIK
Read moreWhen the "Soviet style" becomes a fashion like Art Deco makes the joy of all the connected collectors, a recently opened magazin allows the Western eyes to truly discover what has been so far only an idea out of films and books and fed by the most diverse myths. One walks in a hustle of diverse objects, on the background of retro music, and one can ask questions to sellers dressed in Soviet style. In short, an ideal place for lovers of improbable curiosities and those nostalgic for the beds in the formica shades.

You'll find everything from fruits and vegetables to bakery and household products, all at unbeatable prices. Its specialty is fish, its stalls are beautiful and its merchandise fresh (unlike Ordralfabétix). Good plan for those who have a home with a kitchen.

Located just a stone's throw from Lubyanka Square, this food market offers you the opportunity to enjoy a gastronomic tour without leaving the ultra-centre of Moscow. There are no less than 35 cafés in the centre where you can enjoy a wide range of products. Our favourite choices are Uzbek Lagman soup and Russian mushroom and potato ravioli. In addition, you can sit down at the craft bar to digest.
TSENTRALNY RYNOK NA MAROSEYKE
Read moreA few steps from the Kitai-Gorod metro exit, you arrive on the cobblestones of a food market bustling with people always on the lookout for the latest gastronomic novelty. Its location in the city center explains the great popularity of this place (and even intimate, for Moscow standards), with about thirty cafes installed on three floors. Fish lovers will appreciate the stalls of Omoremore and UhuEli (УхуЕли).
BALCHUG
Read moreHere is another gasto market that has managed to nestleits 25 corners in an 18th century mansion on Balchug Island, just a few steps from Red Square. The hustle and bustle of Moscow's other food markets is not yet seen here, which helps to preserve the exemplary ownership of the premises and to organize better service. In addition, in summer you can enjoy a small, quiet terrace. We especially like the fish restaurant Treskat' and We Cidreria, a chain with a wide selection of ciders and tapas.
MARCHÉ SENNOÏ
Read moreThis market, which appeared in 1737 near the entrance to the town and specialized in the sale of hay, straw and wood, was once very large and very popular. Today, it is a very old school local market, frequented by the locals and very popular with Petersburg restaurateurs for supplies. All kinds of fresh products can be found there. To eat on the go, the stalls with Vietnamese salads (vegetables, fish and spicy meat) sold by weight are very practical even if they are at least as Russian as Vietnamese

Its original name was Obzhorniy, which means "glutton" in French. Its many lively stalls are a real treat and invite you to wander through the aisles of this small neighbourhood market. This gastronomic food market two minutes from the Avtozavodskaya metro opened its doors in 2018 and immediately became the capital's gourmet mecca. On weekends it's crowded but you can find any kind of takeaway there. There are about 40 restaurants with Vietnamese, Korean, Italian, Israeli, Nordic, Caucasian, Italian and Nordic cuisines, as well as several bars.
