Around the world is a food market created by famous Russian restaurateurs Arkady Novikov, Boris Zarkov and Vladimir Mukhin. Located just a stone's throw from Lubyanka Square, this food market offers you the opportunity to enjoy a gastronomic tour without leaving the ultra-centre of Moscow. There are no less than 35 cafés in the centre where you can enjoy a wide range of products. Our favourite choices are Uzbek Lagman soup and Russian mushroom and potato ravioli. A few steps from the Kitai-Gorod metro exit, you arrive on the cobblestones of a food market bustling with people always on the lookout for the latest gastronomic novelty. Its location in the city center explains the great popularity of this place (and even intimate, for Moscow standards), with about thirty cafes installed on three floors. Fish lovers will appreciate the stalls of Omoremore and UhuEli (УхуЕли).

It is a tea club without equivalent in Moscow, which is very fond of this kind of establishments. It takes the form of a stand with a small bar in the middle of which sits the huge samovar from which the water for the infusions is served. Far from the stereotypical souvenir shops, we advise you to push the door of this extraordinary confectionery shop. Lollipops in the shape of portraits of Russian writers or tourist sites, white chocolate pelmenis, sweets of all shapes and colors... Willy Wonka would be envious in front of so much imagination! The symbol of the shop is his lucky chocolate ticket, a replica of a numbered public transport ticket, the sum of the first three digits of which is equal to the sum of the last three.

This elegant sign is one of the largest black caviar temples in Russia. In this bar/shop you can buy legal sturgeon caviar from Russian producers, choosing from 100 brands, with all the necessary information about the selected farms and the possibility of tasting it on the spot. The dishes on offer in the kitchen all contain black caviar, including desserts (sturgeon and caviar pelmenis, tasting menu with 4 or 5 species of caviar, creamy Brie and caviar ice cream, etc.).

When walking on Petrogradskaya Island, comfort + warmth + a pastry break means Lastochka ("the swallow" in French). This market is considered to be one of the most affordable markets in St. Petersburg for fresh produce. It was established in 1711. Its original name was Obzhorniy, which means "glutton" in French. On the left after the main entrance, a saleswoman from a charcuterie stall will make you a nice board to take away. Just point your finger at the delicacies that speak to you and the majestic owner of a solenias stand will accompany you with her beautiful homemade pickles.
