The Quatro Amici pizzeria is a cosy place in this lively and quiet area of Barra, a few meters from the Farol beach. It is a pizzeria with a chic restaurant service (valet parking at the entrance). The façade and the interior show a real aesthetic research. The alternation of bricks, which gives a vintage aspect, with the wood of the ceiling and the bright white walls, gives a cosy and pleasant aspect. The pizzas and Italian dishes are of good quality. The food and wine lists are rich and of high quality.

The owner, Yves, a French in love with Paraty, cuisine our good olds pancakes: mozzarella and tomato of Provence, tuna and olive or chocolate. One regales oneself at handsome price.

A trendy beach restaurant with the sushi/lounge combo hosted by Djs in the evening. Ideal for lunch or dinner in the sand and continue the evening with a cocktail. Prices are high but still reasonable, and correct plates. 

Brittany in the middle of Copacabana... It is not so common and it is worth mentioning, even if the pancakes are certainly one of the elements of the Breton heritage the most known worldwide! The "blé noir" is a nice little creperie with an accordion concert every Wednesday. The prepared pancakes are very good and copious enough to be shared by two. Savory and sweet crepes of course! Victim of its success, the place is often crowded, you sometimes have to wait in line for a table.

This venerable house is established in a beautiful residence classified as a cultural heritage site in the town of Florianopolis, in an almost Breton style. Of course, lobster is eaten, but the house menu is generous: oysters, fish tartars, delicious seafood, but also casquinha de siri (crab shell) and other local marine specialties. The children enjoy the meal dedicated to them. The restaurant is located near the Hercillo Luz bridge. The happy hours are particularly pleasant. The chef's menu is recommended (R$ 300).

The traditional "Maria & Maria" is a family restaurant located in the fishermen's quarter, by the canal. The setting is superb, with a terrace in the middle of the boats and nets. The warm welcome and the tasty, copious and fresh plates. Fish and seafood are cooked according to regional recipes

This seafood and fish restaurant has established itself as one of the best tables on the island, and is regularly awarded by the magazine "4 Rodas". The owners did not scour the seas, but were bankers in Sao Paulo before settling in Lagoa in 2002. Their establishment located on the avenue that borders the lagoon in the direction of Praia de Mole has become an unmissable restaurant. The grilled octopus with prawns, the house specialty, is a pure marvel. The squid risotto with Sicilian lemon was praised by chef Carla Pernambuco.

For lovers of Asian cuisine, Mr. Lam appears more and more as a must. The place itself, near the lagoa, in one of the most popular neighborhoods of Rio, is already an invitation to travel. This magnificent residence propels us to China, under the protective shadow of the Ming statues. Chef Lam has "repatriated" many of his dishes from his London and New York establishments. Traditional satay dishes (shrimp and chicken), spring rolls but also an interesting tasting menu at R$ 300. Worth knowing!

In the pleasant Gavea district, near the Jockey Club, Braseiro da Gavea is a veritable institution. In a rather sober and cosy setting, the food is simple and of high quality. The traditional picanha takes the lion's share. The side dishes are also of high quality (rice with broccoli, potatoes, sausages...). Arrive early on weekends, as tables fill up quickly. Beer and caipirinha accompany the dishes. The service is very professional, the setting pleasant...What else?

Here, we are not in the standards of the great restoration but it is precisely what we like to find at random in the streets of Rio. In the district of Catete, very central between the commercial and cultural activities of the Centro and the beaches and animations of the South zone, the rotisseria Sirio Libanesa is an interesting option. In this small restaurant, often crowded, you can find the classic esfiha, the kibe, very good fruit juices. A good plan, cheap.

Located in one of Lençois' liveliest streets, the Don Oba restaurant has earned a reputation as a fine dining and convivial venue. All the regional classics are served here with excellence. Carne do sol is a favorite, as are picanha (grilled noble meat) and the more basic "aipim" (cassava French fries). The "poço encantado" cocktail, to be enjoyed with or without moderation, is excellent. The decor is both sober and tasteful. The welcome from Leivi, her family and her team is absolutely friendly and professional. A must visit!

The quiet Las Sorrentinas restaurant is one of the few places on Ilha Grande to delight the palate of gourmets and novices alike. This cozy, wood-framed restaurant is run by Argentinian chefs, but the reference to Sorrento is unmistakable. A wide variety of homemade pasta dishes are lovingly prepared. Try the house specialty, pasta a la Sorrentine, a large ravioli generously filled. The desserts are excellent. The maracuja mousse is incomparable.

L'Atelier Cafeteria offers simple, good food in a pleasant setting, lively day and night. Salads, wraps, crêpes and tapiocas are served generously indoors, on the terrace, on the beach or on the sidewalk. Cocktails are served in moderation, and can be enjoyed while watching the sunset. With ao vivo music on certain evenings, very competitive prices and a very attentive staff, it's easy to see why this is such a popular address.
