La Bohème is an artisanal bakery-pastry shop founded by three Frenchmen in 2014. You can come here to buy your bread or fill up on French-style pastries: croissants, pains au chocolat, chocolate twists, cannelés, palmiers, madeleines or even cronuts. As for the pastries, here again, the classics are there, from the éclair to the mille-feuille and the many fruit tarts. The place is also a café, where you can sit down to drink your espresso or eat breakfast, a sandwich or a salad.

The hotel offers natural snacks, for the meal that we are experiencing between meal hours: fruit juice, salads, fruit salad, and some gourmet sandwiches. The place is very frequented by the inhabitants of Condesa, who like to come babbling around a fruit juice on the benches located outside the establishment.

The hotel serves very good churros, these Spanish pastries, which are sometimes sold in our holidays. It is a flour dough that one fried in oil and covers sugar, but it also sells more elaborate churros, filled with chocolate, nutella, or caramel! Perfect for a break to eat or recharge the batteries before going into a box!

This delicious confectionery was founded in 1874. It was originally located on Calle Madero, but at the beginning of the last century it was moved to its current location on Calle 5 de Mayo. It sells all the traditional sweets of the country: beso de nuez, alegrías, piñoninas, bocados reales, aleluyas, reinas, picones, puerquitos.... and many others! Some of them are now endangered and you'll be hard pressed to find them anywhere else in Mexico. A real institution that has another shop in the Roma.

This is a great initiative: here, they don't pretend to make bread in the French way, but they adapt with local products. And the result goes beyond the borders of the state: the pan de platano (banana bread) has been simply exquisite since the 70s. The rest of the food is just as tempting, from the hearty muffins to the cookies to the plain bread. Everything is homemade, and hopefully the bread will be fresh out of the oven as you pass by. Opened in 1935, this little establishment that doesn't look like much is a real institution in the city. People come here in the evening to enjoy different hot chocolates: the Spanish (thick and very sweet), the Mexican (lighter), the French (with vanilla), the special (semi-bitter), the Swiss (with whipped cream). But the place is best known for its soft and crispy churros. It has been so successful that Churrería el Moro now has eight other locations throughout the city, from Roma to Polanco to Zona Rosa.

This is where you'll find the best artisanal sorbets and ice creams in the city, at La Fuente. Originating in Tocumbo, Michoacán (as do most of the country's ice cream shops), the great specialty is still chongos zamoranos ice cream , a fermented milk preparation invented in the convents of the colonial era. Founded in 1954, this bakery, which still uses a stone oven, has made a specialty of coyotas, small wheat cakes and panelas(piloncillo) typical of the region. They are now also made with a variety of ingredients such as almonds, walnuts, coconut, dates, etc. The other speciality is of course the huge and very thin tortillas de harina. The shop also sells regional cheeses and machaca (dried meat to be browned in a decoction of tomatoes and condiments).

Located in the centre of the town, this café-restaurant has a very pleasant inner courtyard (often crowded) where you can taste these inimitable sweets of Spanish origin. You can also order traditional dishes at attractive prices at any time of day: molletes, enchiladas, asado de boda, chilaquiles and egg dishes. Ideal for a good big breakfast or a small dinner with friends. For a snack or dessert, we share the excellent churros.

The best churros in the city are prepared in this small shop just a stone's throw from the Zocaló. You can queue up in the evening for delicious hot churros, accompanied by a variety of hot chocolates. The little fried Spanish doughnuts are not the only delicacies on offer: in the window, there are also copious doughnuts and conos de crema (a kind of croissant filled with a custard). You can also stop there from morning to night to eat the typical and very nourishing little sandwiches called cemitas.
