TUR BUS

Coach operator
5/5
1 review

Certainly one of the best bus companies from/to the other cities of the country. Many departures are regularly scheduled to the capital of Santiago and to the other cities of the country, in the north as in the south. You can buy your tickets directly at the bus terminal, but the company also has the advantage of offering online booking. In this case, there is no obligation to print your tickets, you will only have to show your tickets on your phone. For the night trips, prefer the seats in category cama.

1 review

Navimag was founded in 1979 to connect the regions of Aysén and Magallanes in the south of Chile with the rest of the country. On board, you will have the opportunity to discover the natural and cultural treasures of this remote and wild part of the world. The cruise takes place on board a ferry that crosses the Chilean Patagonia for 4 days and 3 nights. The trip is a compendium of adventures, where travelers can contemplate nature in all its splendor. One thing is certain: you will remember this unique and authentic journey for a long time.

TERMINAL RODOVIARIO DE VALPARAÍSO

Bus station

1 review

From Santiago, several bus companies (Turbus, Condor, Pullman...) make the trip almost every hour. When you arrive, a small kiosk dedicated to tourist information will give you a map to find your way. There are regular departures to the north of the country, to La Serena, Vallenar, Copiapó, then Antofagasta, Iquique or Calama. For the southern cities (Temuco, Osorno, Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt), the buses pass by the capital and stop there.

TRAIN

Train

There is a train from Arica to Tacna, and it is not a joke! Built in 1856 when Arica was Peruvian, it is a true jewel of antiquity; it is administered by Peru, of which it is the pride since it is the oldest in the country. Today, it makes the shortest international journey in the world (62 km), in 1h30. Very picturesque, to discover absolutely. It is advisable to book your ticket in advance, one day or less. Remember to book in advance and expect extended searches if you come from Peru.

Red is the name of Santiago's urban transport network. To take a bus (ticket prices start at $670 and go up to $800), don't forget to buy a Bip card (www.tarjetabip.cl), which gives you access to buses and the metro (note that you can use the metro without a Bip! card, but not the bus). The card costs $1,550, after which you'll need to spend at least another $1,000 to travel (every time the card runs out of money, at least another $1,000). You can top up and purchase at any metro station.
