Read moreThe Romanian capital of jazz, Sibiu hosts the country's oldest festival devoted to this musical genre: Sibiu Jazz Festival was born in the 1970s at Ploiești, before quickly moving to Sibiu. Taking place in mid-May, it annually programs excellent artists from the local and international scene. Big names such as Didier Lockwood, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Birelli Lagrene have performed there. The concerts take place in the main square (piața Mare), but also inside the reformed church or in the Mango Bar.

Read moreA resolutely rock festival, with a metal twist, held at the end of July in the heart of the city of Sibiu, on the main square (piața Mare). The line-up is mainly made up of metal bands, including some of the biggest names in the genre (such as Korn, Opeth and Nightwish), but there are also punk and alternative rock bands. In addition to concerts, there are photography and painting exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, workshops and classical music performances.

The program mixes electro, dance music, techno, trap, drum and bass and pop music, with international heavyweights and national stars. Past artists have included Chinese Man, Sean Paul and Jamie Jones. The three psychedelically decorated stages are set up on the sandy beach near the marina.

Read moreThe Anonimul International Independent Film Festival takes place during the first half of August in Sfântu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta, at the very end of the arm of the same name. This location makes it the most remote film festival in Europe! During the day, screenings are organized in the two cinemas of the Green village tourist complex. Other screenings take place in the open air, until late at night, inside the Green Dolphin campsite. These are free of charge. The campsite also hosts concerts every evening.
