The hotel occupies an early ^19th-century house that once belonged to the Iurca de Călinești family, important noblemen of the region. The place owes its name to the fresco that occupies the corner of the outside wall: two symmetrical stags, with a single head at the corner of the wall, topped with real antlers. Listed as a historic monument, it is one of the oldest buildings in the citadel.
