On the avenue of the new seaside resort, the Adjarouli Sakhli is a huge restaurant, modern and folklore at the same time, specializing in Adjar cuisine. Directly on the seafront, this restaurant opened less than five years ago and specialises in fish - something that had been missing in the port city until then. Inside, there is room for folklore and design decoration. The dishes are a little expensive, but the excellent service, the very good fish accompanied by the best Georgian wines are a definite justification. Warm atmosphere, diverse population. A good meal in perspective.

A "European bistro", founded by a Bavarian adventurer. It is a haven where the western Humanitarian of Tbilisi are found, in the area of Vera where many of them live. But some Georgians also go there to taste cheap, cheap European cuisine. Far from an elite restaurant, there are good South German, French (pancakes) and Italian dishes. It also serves the best Georgian wines, and one can eat a khatchapouri. The atmosphere is family, and you can simply drink a beer.

A warm and lively place, in a small courtyard on Rue Lessélidzé. Local cuisine at low rates in a quiet atmosphere during the day, more lively in the evening. Live music occasionally. Fast service. Ideal for a break when visiting old Tbilisi and soaking up the atmosphere of the local youth. Here you can enjoy fresh salads and Georgian cuisine. An excellent place to relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine and good music.

This restaurant in the seaside pavilion right on the old port, with its idyllic terrace in summer is a highlight of Batoumi! Typically, people come here to enjoy a khatchapouri adjare while watching the sea and the port, drinking a beer or coffee. There is space directly on the quay, on the upper terrace, inside ... This is the café-restaurant of the Batoumian tout-venant! Good food, thirst-quenching or comforting drinks, quality service, a varied and rhythmic atmosphere. In short, a good place.

If you're looking for the specialist of khatchapouri adjarouli, this bun filled with cheese, this is the place to come! The Saradjakhama is an authentic address, more for natives than for tourists, but still one of the most famous in the city for its speciality. So it's a good place to meet the locals, and exchange (if there's no language barrier) on the mutual love for the khatchapouri of the place that you will feel from the first bite. Friendly atmosphere and smiling staff.

Historical places: in the 19th century, it was already one of the favourite Dukanis of Tbilisi. Nothing has changed, or almost, the name is the same, like the configuration of the restaurant (separate tables, possibility to hold banquets, separate rooms, etc.). It is a spacious and pleasant doukani of high standing. A stage regularly welcomes music groups. The khinkalis are also very good. The best Georgian wines are served there. The prices are quite high.

The «canteen» of the Goethe Institute (the German International Institute) is a very nice cafe led by a Georgian chef who lived in South Germany and offers excellent Swabian cuisine. Daily dishes (Spätzle, Maultaschen), salads, Wi-fi and a pleasant atmosphere. 

The "Old Boat" in French. However here is a brand new boat put ashore a few years ago which is on the edge of the "Boulevard" (right side when you go towards the beach). Here is a rather kitschy idea but full of charm in the end. The interior is surprising, with good quality Georgian food and well prepared fish. A rather original experience that has found its success, more among tourists than locals. Good drinks as well. Attentive and available service. Warm atmosphere.

The Tea House is a rather prestigious tea room in Batoumi. Its standing is equal to the delicious hot drinks it serves; it is indeed the best place to taste adjare tea, or a tasty Turkish coffee - the one in Batumi is the best in all of Georgia. The Tea House offers excellent Uzbek plovs (rice dishes) for your meals. The place is very popular because it is almost an institution here. You will quickly understand why, both for its service and for the atmosphere that emerges from it.

A Turkish fast-food restaurant where you can eat delicious plates of meat or vegetable gratins, or spicy sauces, much loved by the Turkish and Azeri communities in Tbilisi (the Azerbaijani ambassador can often be seen there!). No menu, we look at the dishes in the window and tell the waiter what we think is appetizing. For dessert, delicious baklavas and succulent Turkish tea. Georgians like to put aquariums in their restaurants; here Digitürk projects the modern version: we see aquarium films, in a fixed shot!

Genuine Tbilisi gastronomic place, cheap and quality, specialist of khinkalis. It is the largest sakhinklé of the city, and one of the favourites of Tbilisians. Huge space in the basement, on several levels, several large common rooms and individual rooms to be reserved for holding dinners. The aquariums are the only decoration - typical. In addition to the kinkhalis, you can enjoy delicious salads. A very wide range of dishes.

If you suddenly have a craving for pizza, head for this pizzeria, it's one of the best in Tbilisi. The restaurant is not especially cheap by local standards, but its cuisine is good. It is located in the most modern and "westernized" district of the city, Vaké. It is a Georgian version of pizza. The Georgians have their own way of preparing them but they are really good. You can also try salads, pasta, steaks or beef stroganoff.

Here is a new and pleasant café in town where you can come at any time of the day to drink a coffee or a beer, all accompanied by sweet or salty sweets. Possibility to taste khatchapouris or quick snacks such as sandwiches like croque-monsieur, but also small pizzas, plates of skewers, trays of chips. Interesting cocktail menu (with or without alcohol). Good local and tourist atmosphere at the same time. Attentive and smiling service. A café where it is good to settle down and enjoy the moment.

The restaurant can be a good stopover between two visits on Roustaveli Avenue. The establishment offers good value for money. The atmosphere and service are good. It offers an interesting mix of Georgian, oriental and European cuisine. Their trout in pomegranate or nut/cheese sauce is succulent. You can enjoy traditional basic dishes such as katchapuri and kinkhalis. It is a favourite place for locals. Good dishes that you can share with several people, enough to recharge your batteries to go back home!

Here is a rather unusual place by its name, but whose concept is that of a literary café as we can imagine. Here you can find a typical Georgian "litératourouli" café, pleasant to have a drink and enjoy cakes in the central street of the old town. Not forgetting the books available (most of them in Georgian or English). At the same time modern, intimate, and in the heart of the Batoumian outings, one spends a pleasant moment there.

A good typical Caucasian restaurant (we prepare the skewers on the field) on the road to Akhalkalaki.

In Vaké, this restaurant is a very popular place among the Vakélis, known for its khatchapouris which are delicious as well as being cheap: with cheese, egg, yoghurt... We strongly advise you to make a detour to find this address, which has a very good reputation in the neighbourhood - good and fast food, very affordable, something to win on all fronts. Moreover, the restaurant is open quite late in the evening, which allows you to take a break to get full at any time.

In an alley perpendicular to the main street, this basement restaurant offers in its warm setting made of old stones (not really authentic, but hey, let's pretend...), woods and old pictures of the fortress, a roborative and cheap cuisine. The khatchapouris (a kind of bread stuffed with cheese) are delicious, and the menu offers some assortments of local cuisine that will satisfy every appetite. Good drinks are also available. You can come here at any time of the day. Warm atmosphere and good service.

Café where you can eat simply next to the beach; the place is a curiosity, with mosaics and open air; it was designed by the sculptor Zourab Tsérétéli. The menu is basic, but people come to eat here mainly because the Octopus Cafe is superbly located. In the end, a beer and a khatchapouri adjarouli (this cheesy bread that can only be melted) should be enough. Warm and friendly atmosphere, varied population. Dynamic and smiling service. In short, a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
