Local produce such as figs and cranberries are used in the sweet and sour sauce and the sweet and sour sauce around the meat. Fresh homemade pasta is revisited, and the desserts are excellent.

A small intimate restaurant in a pedestrian alley in Split. Sitting at the bar or on small tables, you can enjoy the good Dalmatian cuisine skilfully concocted by the attentive chef, consisting of local charcuterie, meat or fish, shellfish, stew, pea soup. The Vrške takes advantage of its age in the city as well as its new terrace, which overlooks the banks of the Danube. It is also close to the castle and the cruise ship pier. Its privileged location pleases the regulars, who also come for hot and cold drinks. In the kitchen, the dishes remain traditional: freshwater fish smoked in the open air, fish paprikaš, Slavonic sausages, wood-grilled meats, homemade desserts and, to accompany it all, a glass of Iliok wine.

In this restaurant, the walls have been renovated, the decoration changed but the general atmosphere remains classic, the quality of the dishes and the tight prices are maintained. Southern salad, skewers (house specialities), grilled fish or fried squid with the famous blitva (chard and mashed potatoes) or chips, pizzas over a wood fire, local wine, everything is good until caramel cream (dalmatian rožata) or chocolate cake !

This restaurant, on the road that runs alongside the port, close to the Lapad hotel, is not easy to find if you arrive by land. But it's a real haven of peace, well worth the detour. It has the good fortune to be able to move forward onto a pontoon, setting its tables on the water's edge, with a panoramic view of the moored boats. Visitors come for the seafood platters, lobster, tuna carpaccio and squid ink risotto (although meat dishes are also available). In spring, when cherries are in season, try their cherry strüdel.

This now very touristy establishment offers fried fish and seafood dishes. On the menu: octopus salad, fried fish, black risotto, spaghetti with shellfish... Oysters (sometimes frozen) are also on the menu - after all, kamenice means oyster in Croatian! With its magnificent location on the square, this restaurant is often overcrowded, and the quality of the food suffers (as does the friendliness of the waiters), with prices that don't match the dishes served. You often have to wait (in the sun) to get a table.

Right behind Pet Bunara Square, this konoba passes to be one of the oldest restaurants in the city. The specialties of the house: The fresh fish grilled with blitva, the seafood plateaux in sauce, the gnocchis pasticada sauce accompanied by wine… A musical ambience on the weekend and summer.

Just a stone's throw from Gundulić Square and the famous "Scalinata", the Baroque staircase leading to St. Ignatius Church (popular with tourists as the setting for Game of Thrones), Pizzeria Castro is a favorite address for Ragusans. Open all year round, Castro offers a good choice of pizzas at reasonable prices. Out of season, the menu is a little shorter, but the pizzeria (almost) never stops working. Relaxed, family atmosphere, tables outside only. Very pleasant service. Long waits sometimes in summer.

Once you've passed all the harbor restaurants, you come to the tavern at the end of the quay, close to the Franciscan monastery. The quiet, elevated terrace enjoys the generous shade of the pine trees and the view of the sea. Here, wood-fired cooking (outdoor barbecue) perfectly captures the flavors of southern meats, fish, seafood and vegetables. On the menu: tuna or swordfish steak, grilled calamari, seafood platter, as well as tuna tartare, spit-roasted suckling pig, pork ribs, sautéed potatoes and breaded eggplant with mozzarella.

Cavtat is full of restaurants for all budgets and, as in Dubrovnik, some of them are not as good as their food... All of them have a terrace facing the sea, whether it is the bay of Tiha or the harbor. The Harbour Cafe is located at the level of the big yachts. Its Asian-inspired fusion cuisine is fresh and honest. Whether it's continental brunch, grilled meats or local fish, wok noodles with southern vegetables, the choice on the menu is tight and well served. To eat in or take away.

The LD Restaurant is located within the Lešić Dimitri Palace in Korčula's old town. The menu offered at this 1-Michelin-star establishment is designed according to the ingredients available during the season. You'll find old Dalmatian recipes revisited by the chef, such as komiška pogača (typical fougasse from the island of Vis). This small seaside restaurant is located on the road leading to the beaches south of Žuljana. There's nothing special on offer, but the staff are friendly and the dishes quite hearty. You can choose from the classics of Dalmatian cuisine (spaghetti with seafood, tuna steak, squid, pasticada, pork tenderloin...) or go for a pizza. On the way back from the beach, or for a break between swims, the Konoba Riva could be an ideal spot. Choose a table near the entrance for more shade.

The self-proclaimed best pasta restaurant in town is the oldest Italian restaurant, having opened about 20 years ago. That may be a bit of a boast! What is certain is that all the different pasta and gnocchi dishes at Toni's are good and quickly served. Other specialties include bruschetta and hearty seasonal salads drizzled with olive oil. Also worth trying: the fisherman's cuisine, tagliatelle, parpadelle, tuna and seafood tortellini or the sea/pesto risotto.

In an alleyway in the old town, a pleasant restaurant without a terrace, where the pizzas are appetizing, the dough thin and the toppings generous, especially the slices of prosciutto crudo, the vegetarian pizza, the cherry tomatoes and the famous arugula (pizza ruccola). The good idea on the menu is the three sizes of pizza, to suit all appetites. With its good value for money, this is a well-known address. On the spot or to take away. Also offers antipasti, a charcuterie/cheese platter, a choice of calzones and fresh pasta.

Traditional, cheap cuisine.

The owner's creed, for (to pronounce Tsar), is summed up in two quite explicit points: The kitchen of a restaurant can be good only if the owner has put his personal touch and the head weighs more than 100 kg. If the principles are adhered to then be confident: this is where we must stop! The client is allowed here as in an individual. The kitchen is traditional Dalmatian and in particular Hvar. Ingredients, meat or fish, are simple but sublimated by their preparation. Here, no menus. The specialties of this paradise are boiled meat (lamb, beef or veal) served with tomato and capers sauce, or goat cheese, soup of eels, fish in crust or in the oven with potatoes and a sauce of white wine, spaghetti au, or sheep soup with tomato and capers.

In the south of the island, Opat Bay is one of the archipelago's best-known maritime entrances. On the harbor, the restaurant's terrace looks out over the sea and the islands opposite. Mooring berths are available for guests (at an extra charge). Here you can order cold drinks, with or without alcohol, Croatian beers and white wines. A catering service is available, but there are no menus and the bill is very high. Fisherman's cuisine, of course: grilled scorpion fish with baked potatoes, lobster, carpaccio of the day's fish, sushi, gratins.

The restaurant was built in an old private house in Vrulje, the largest fishing village in the Kornati, where even today there are only about 50 houses. The owner is known throughout the archipelago as a good octopus fisherman and cook. His specialties include octopus in goulash or Venetian style, fresh fish carpaccio, Dalmatian plate (smoked ham and goat's cheese) and grilled meats. As is often the case on the islands, prices are much higher than on the mainland.

The restaurant Artatore is not only a good address for the cuisine you can enjoy, but also for the view over the bay you have from the terrace. We recommend the bar or fillets oven with potatoes, with a little wine just before serving it. But to get into appetite nothing is worth the lobster soup accompanied by fresh pasta. Finally, you can opt for a fishing strudel. Finally, a significant advantage of the restaurant: the toilets are among the cleanest in Croatia!

Among the many pizzerias in the port, the one called Chez Draga remains a safe bet in town. Its terrace on the first floor is pleasant and the wait for a plate is quite reasonable. You can choose from a wide range of pizzas, of course, but also lasagne, fresh pasta with seafood or southern vegetables, grilled sardines accompanied by blitva (mashed potatoes and chard in olive oil) or a hot sandwich with cheese and local charcuterie. A balanced mix of Italian and Croatian cuisine.

The terrace offers a panoramic view of the surrounding vineyards. Inside, the large wood-panelled banquet tables are often used for weddings or festive events. The cuisine features authentic dishes from the region (dried mushroom soup, homemade bread and local cheese, river fish, grilled or breaded meat...), all accompanied by Dalmatian, Istrian or Slavonic wine, especially this light white from the Zagorje hills.

Only the terrace on the small square is pleasant. Mediterranean cuisine.

A small, unpretentious restaurant just outside the town and next to the marina. It's one of the cheapest in the city. Also serves pizzas.

A new fusion type kitchen but without presentation. Affordable price for a dinner in mind, behind your second half, the Adriatic Sea. The Cigar bar and lounge bar Agora are two original attractions for VIP or simply intimate guests.

In a distinctive décor made up of frescoes and drawings attached to the walls, there is a rather casual clientele. The kitchen is original and good (cheese in cheese, turkey with prunes, veal steak, and other Italian specialities). The service is excellent. This is one of the most important of the city.

A short, well-balanced menu featuring carefully prepared seafood dishes, grilled fish or meat, accompanied by French fries or the traditional blitva (mashed potatoes/green beans in olive oil), as well as seafood risotto, pizzas, fresh pasta or homemade lasagne.

This restaurant boasts a beautiful terrace overlooking the harbor, where large banquet tables with benches can be placed, while the dining room resembles a cloister. The cuisine is simple but honest: grilled meats, seafood pasta, risotto and pizzas. The address, a little too touristy, is often crowded. In the basement, in a large vaulted cellar with exposed stonework, the Lapidary club is open all year round. Its good acoustics attract musicians. DJs, groups and vocal ensembles sometimes perform here.

The restaurant offers fresh fish daily, crustaceans, shells, black risotto, meat dishes, hors d'oeuvres, snacks… but also a cosy lunch menu and breakfasts. There is a great choice for breakfast or sandwiches for dinner: .., sweet and light pastries. The only fault is that they fill the sandwiches only in the part they open, and that the bread is hopelessly empty on the sides…

Bread, pastries, and delicious cakes that have genuine authentic taste. You can also stop here for a small coffee. Breakfast is delicious and the perfect lunch if you are in the corner of the Sheraton or Trg Square.
