Although it is not the most developed mode of transport, the train in Croatiaremains interesting for those who travel at night, without time constraints. Connections with border countries (Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Serbia), direct lines from Zagreb to Rijeka, Split, Osijek.

From Split to Zagreb. You can take the night train with your vehicle (car, two-wheeler) and pick it up on arrival. Guaranteed fuel and toll savings.

If you are not tempted by the days at sea, organized by excursionists, you can take the taxi-boat option. On the taxi-boat Bura, a father and son work together. On the quayside, near the Falkensteiner Hotel Park, their small boat makes the rotation with the islet of Košljun. The crossing lasts about 15 minutes, until you reach the secure pier in front of the monastery's ticket office. You agree with them on the time you want to return to Punat. Same service for the port of Krk.

Hrvatske željeznice (HŽ), for Croatian Railways, is the national railway operator in Croatia. The passenger division of the company is called HŽ Putnički Prijevoz and provides connections between major Croatian cities via regional and express trains (bicycles are allowed on some trains). HŽ also offers international connections to Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and Switzerland.

The 4-star Dubrovnik Marina (open all year round) is located northwest of Gruž, on the southern bank of the Rijeka Dubrovačka, at its source. On foot or by boat, you will not miss the silhouette of the villa of the Sorkočević, one of the most powerful Rijekan families of the time, built on the banks of the Ombla River. It is now part of the marina. The park can be freely accessed and walked around. It is very pleasant when the sun rises or in the evening when the star disappears to make way for the moon and its reflections on the water.

All year round (10 times a day and more), the company transports passengers and vehicles from Orebić (Pelješac) to Korčula Dominče (3 km east of the town center). See website for timetables. From early June to late September, the Jadrolinija runs from Vela Luka to Lastovo, Hvar and Split several times a week. For Split, Brač and Hvar, it's even several times a day. Book your tickets in advance. A catamaran to Split also departs from Dominče.

Dubrovnik is sorely lacking in parking facilities, especially in the high season. This structure, located a few minutes walk from the old town, is a very good solution. The car park has 711 spaces (even for electric cars) and is open 24 hours a day. What's more, it's a guarded and supervised car park. This of course comes at a price, which is not cheap especially if you stay in town for several days. Another option is the Gru car park, a little further from the old town. Finally, don't try to park around the ramparts: it's reserved for residents.
