Santa's House at Rochers-de-Naye is a must-see if you have young children. Located at an altitude of 2,042 meters, you can visit Santa's house and office by taking the Santa Train, a small cogwheel train. The climb itself is well worth the detour, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Once there, children will have the chance to meet the real Santa and leave with a small gift. This renowned indoor tennis tournament, part of the ATP World Tour 500, was founded in 1970 and has been won by some of the world's greatest champions, including, of course, Basel champion Roger Federer, who has won the title seven times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015) and was a finalist in 2012 and 2013! Last year, young Felix Auger-Aliassime won the tournament, the first of the post-Federer era. This year, it will take place from October 21 to 29, 2023 at the St. Jakobshalle. Its success continues unabated.

The atmosphere is unparalleled. You can eat everywhere at stands of the Village of associations (profits going to cultural, social, educational and humanitarian works), with specialities from across the world. This event forms part of sustainable development and actions are set including waste management with drink pumps and eco-friendly flasks; cups are prohibited.

Popular, convivial, cheerful and familial, the fanfares remind us of beautiful ceremonies, large gatherings, processions and parades. Organized by several entities, during the second half of the month, Mai en Fanfares offers a multiple programme of concerts in different places in the city and wandering onto the streets. It is possible for walkers, lovers of popular or scholarly music, to listen to two or even three concerts held by different musical groups in the evening, the same day, at the same place.

A prestigious event enlivens Palexpo every early December. The exclusive meeting of horse show lovers and riding enthusiasts. Created in 1926, it is one of the most luxurious international horse competitions. The world's best riders participate. The CHI won the title of world best competition 6 times. Presently, the CHI has become Switzerland's first {1}indoor cross{/1}, and was mentioned as being exceptional by participants and spectators. 7 equestrian disciplines on the poster, including obstacle jumps, horse teams, aerobatics, cross and dressage. The Zürcher Theater Spektakel is an international theater and performing arts festival that has been held every summer in the Landiwiese Park since 1980. For several weeks from mid-August to the beginning of September, street artists from all over the world take to the stage outdoors to enchant you with their shows. It is one of the most important European festivals of its kind! A must-see event for the whole family if you are visiting Zurich during this period.

The Jazz Festival Suzanne Bebbi Sy Jazz marks the end of school holidays in Basel every year. On several scenes in the city centre, dozens of musicians make tens of thousands of jazz fans vibrate.

For book-makers, the book fair BuchBasel brings together an impressive number of publishers from all over Switzerland and is organising a prize discount. Several exchange forums are held around different themes. Part of the exhibition is devoted to comics. Some authors of French origin are present.

The Basel MARATHON Basel Marathon is open to all for 16 years, with courses across the city for each runner style. The most confirmed will take place within 42 km of the marathon (two semi marathon hens) or within 21 km. Other distance, 10 km course, team race (Ekiden) and youth race for children aged 11 to 15.
