Between river and ocean, and close to downtown, this hostel offers both dormitories and rooms, all well maintained. The setting is very nice and the welcome is warm. One can have a drink or breakfast on the roof terrace with a breathtaking view of the small arm of the river and the Langue de Barbarie fishermen's canoes. The rooms are simple, clean with mosquito net and fan. It is also possible to taste Senegalese dishes, on order. Very good value for money.

Right in the centre of Dakar, this hostel, one of the first in the capital, is a good address! It offers single rooms, functional studios and fully equipped apartments at very reasonable prices. The colourful and well-maintained accommodation is arranged around an inner courtyard, protected from the noisy street life. There is no breakfast or meal service, but the manager, Soriba, will be able to give you good addresses just a stone's throw from the hostel. The staff is available and very friendly.

Right in the city centre, this small, clean and friendly hostel offers dormitory beds and a few air-conditioned and ventilated rooms, with or without indoor bathroom. The terrace on the first floor is a peaceful place to have breakfast or to relax during the day. The staff is pleasant and available, and the hostel is well secured. It is a good starting point to visit the city, but also the surroundings, as you can organize your various excursions from here. Good value for money.

Located in the Médine district, off the main road, this is an unpretentious, well-kept hostel where you can spend one or two peaceful nights in Sokone. The 11 ventilated or air-conditioned rooms are decent, furnished with TV and wardrobe. Bathrooms are equipped with hot-water showers. Nicknamed the "House of the Bolongs", the^2nd floor features a panoramic restaurant offering splendid views over the mangrove swamps. Perfect for enjoying local or international cuisine!

In the center of the village of Toubacouta, this friendly inn is a pleasant, peaceful place to put down your bags for a few days and explore the surrounding area by car or canoe. The 7 air-conditioned rooms, including one upstairs, are lined up in a quiet courtyard, with a touch of greenery. A lovely swimming pool, much appreciated when returning from excursions. Rooms are spacious, with comfortable bedding, small sitting area, TV, bathroom and separate toilet. The staff are friendly and will be happy to advise you on your visits. A recommended address.

A little far from the city centre, this hostel offers impeccable rooms on the ground floor, some of which have television. A friendly atmosphere prevails in the inner courtyard, conducive to endless meetings and discussions. A restaurant was about to open when we visited. A good address for small budgets!
