First international airport of the archipelago, it is today one of the main gateways of Cape Verde. Legal cream-colored cabs await you at the exit at all hours of the day and night.

BestFly Cabo Verde (ex-TICV) currently operates domestic flights connecting all islands with airport infrastructure. The company's own fleet consists of ATR72-600, with a maximum capacity of 70 passengers, a new generation medium-sized aircraft, more comfortable and environmentally friendly. The Maio airfield was inaugurated in 2005. Very functional, it has the capacity to receive two ATR72 per operation. This is also where you can obtain information on departing and arriving flights. At the exit, there are cabs and aluguers to reach Porto Inglês. For walkers, the road from the airport to the city, while not exceptionally beautiful, is pleasant and flat.
