SAN MARINO CHURCH
Read moreThe original church Saint-Marien, of a rare architectural eclecticism, is worth a visit during a passage to Vic-sur-Fit! This church suffered many hardships, scars of its history that left their footprints in its architecture… The oldest element, for example, is the southern door eardrum, re-use of beautiful invoices, realized in 1308. In Gothic style, he traces episodes of the life of Saint-Marien. The two chapels in Gothic vaults date back to the th century. The sumptuous windows are worth a look, even for their finesse and shine. The nave, on the other hand, no longer possesses its original vault: threatening to collapse in the th century, it was replaced by a flat ceiling for security reasons. Finally, the imposing neo-Romanesque style tower is later. An important element of the whole, it was attached to the church at the end of the th century. A visit to Saulnois, do not miss the visit of this building, both multiple and singular.
CHURCH AND CONVENT OF THE CARMES
Read moreIn front of the Mint Hotel, the old convent of the Carmelites was erected in Vic in 1675. The mention Stadthaus in the main facade reminds us of the German period. In 1733, they formed the classic facade of their church. As a result, the whole occupied the function of military building, before being bought by the city. In 1875, the church was used as a covered market. The convent, in turn, occupied many functions! First prison and then dance room, it was used as abattoirs before becoming the gendarmerie's premises! Today, it houses the town hall and the so-called Tribunal Hall, where meetings of the municipal council are held. Each summer you can admire exhibitions of contemporary regional artists. As for the old church, it is used as a festive room, but also serves as a centre for cultural animation.

Open your eye. The beautiful solar dial bears a Latin inscription that can be translated by "hours pass slowly for those who are in trouble, quickly for those who are in joy". You'll be allowed to meditate on the rest of your day!
SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Read moreSt. Martin's Church, devoted to the very famous Bishop of Towers in 397, is one of the oldest parishes in Metz. The first sanctuary was located at the time of the Gallo-Roman town of Divodurum (former name of Metz), but the date of construction is unknown. The current building has several phases of construction: the narthex and nave are dated at the beginning of the th century, while the choir, apse and transept date back to a second work campaign at the turn of the th and th centuries. Moreover, the building builds on the Roman walls of the th century. You can admire this Gallo-Roman remnant on both sides of the portal. Much of the glass is also part of the Renaissance era. The th century led to the substitution of the ancient stained glass windows of the apse by a whole due to the talents of the Messin Laurent-Charles Marshal and the reconstitution of the tower. The dark and dark vaults of what the habit calls narthex are first offered to visitors entering the church: its massive piles, its strong veins still betray the Romanesque influence, while pointing here and there the elements that will characterize Gothic architecture. Coming back the nave, finds the cross of the transept. As a choir of the building, it is framed by four massive pillars that mount from one jet until the retombée of the vaults. This building cannot be left without admiring the carved group of the Nativity (left arm of the transept; th century), the Nollet organ and its late th-century buffet and the Ecce homo of the chapel beneath the tower.
SAINT-EUCAIRE CHURCH
Read moreAt every time his style: the church of Saint Eucairo alone, a rich witness to past centuries; erected in the xiith century, then retouched to the xive and xve centuries, it is one of the oldest religious buildings in the city Messina, beautiful testimony of flamboyant Gothic style. Currently in a restoration phase, only part of the building is visited. Once your eyes are used to darkness, his charm operates as magic: its stained glass windows are like color touches and its privacy invites visitors to the collection. Among the elements of furniture, its organ, choir and nef date from the xive and xve centuries. Outside, raise your head to observe his novel bell, still in good conservation condition. Dedicated to Eucairo iiie, Bishop of Trio (ecclesiastical metropolis which depended on Metz at the time), the church was primarily responsible for a famous religious festival. Every February 3, there is the last medieval pilgrimage of Metz. In a popular fervor, the faithful come to make bless small breads marked with piclets recalling the martyrdom of Saint Blaise, in order to obtain protection and healing against the throats of throat. The relics of Saint Blaise still lie in the church today. He has been invoked as healer of throats, since he saved a young boy strangled by a fish ridge.

SAINT HELENA'S CHAPEL
Read moreLegend tells that St. Helena would have stayed on the hill of Hérapel around 293, during which the Romans took part in the places. Once gone, the place was feared for a long time, because of the pagan spirit that existed there. Next to the chapel, oral stories evoke the existence of a niche carved in the rock. It would have sheltered a colossal St. Helena statue in person. Today (and if you think about the inhabitants!), it would still be buried somewhere on the strange Colline Hill… But history does not stop there. Over the centuries, the oratory attracted many pélèrins, but also at the beginning of the twentieth century, at the dawn of the First World War. The chapel known for many phases, alternating destruction and reconstruction. Only its natural environment (a rock-dominated cave) and its so-called miraculous source were preserved. In ancient times, but also today, this water net would have curative vertues, especially in healing of pathologies reaching the eyes (blindness) and hair (baldness). Caution, however, is not potable water.

MAJOR SEMINARY
Read moreYou have already described this decor… Réflechissez… Some clues, on its history: the work of Archbishop Pierre-Antoine I of Grammont, was built from 1670 to 1695, then complemented by a portal and its body of accommodation by architect Jean-Pierre Galezot in the th century. This building, therefore, in the shape of a Latin cross, has a magnificent chapel with a sumptuous façade adorned with two pilasters in Corinthian style. You're not? Well, it's through your readings that you probably already met, since it's in this building that Stendhal staged Julien Sorel, the hero of Le Rouge and the Black. So why not visit the book by hand?
